Wed, 29 Jan 2014 14:07:57 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker said up to six players who qualified as "cancers" ruined the team in 2013 and led to the firing of head coach Mike Munchak. "When we started losing more games, we got to see it more and more, it was just like it was falling apart," Walker said. "And the players that were the cancer were dragging other players into that box with them, and the box was getting bigger and bigger. At first, it was just a small box. The box just got bigger and bigger."

Fri, 06 Dec 2013 12:20:22 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (concussion) did not practice Friday, Dec. 6, and is questionable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: The last thing the Titans needed heading into their game against the Denver Broncos is to be without Walker, who has developed into a go-to option for Ryan Fitzpatrick. It's unlikely that Walker plays if he has yet to be cleared from his concussion. With Craig Stevens also questionable, look for Kendall Wright and Nate Washington to be relied on more often.

Titans | Offense affected by Delanie Walker injury

Tue, 03 Dec 2013 10:28:50 -0800

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said the injury to TE Delanie Walker (concussion) early in Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts affected the team's passing offense. "All of a sudden, they can put more attention on Kendall (Wright), on Nate (Washington), on our other receivers, which they couldn't have done before," Munchak said. TE Taylor Thompson played 72 of 75 offensive snaps as a result with TE Craig Stevens (concussion) also out. The status of Walker and Stevens remains up in the air for Week 14 against the Denver Broncos, and they'll have to pass the concussion tests in order to play this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Walker will be a strong play against Denver if he is able to suit up. Keep tabs on his status this week. Whether he plays will largely determine if Nate Washington will be playable as a flex, too.

Titans | Delanie Walker agrees to terms

Tue, 12 Mar 2013 13:58:19 -0700

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent TE Delanie Walker (49ers) on a four-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Tennessee was, understandably, dissatisfied with Jared Cook's play relative to his ceiling. Walker gained some attention for his occasional, big-play exploits once Colin Kaepernick was under center for the San Francisco 49ers, and the Titans' new tight end has some upside now that he'll be hooking up with another mobile passer in Jake Locker. It'll be interesting to see how his new team plans to utilize him. The athletic Walker has never been a primary tight end, except to fill in for Vernon Davis, so there should be some question about whether he can fit the bill.

Eagles | Delanie Walker could receive attention

Wed, 06 Mar 2013 19:48:01 -0800

The Philadelphia Eagles could pursue free-agent TE Delanie Walker (49ers), as he might fit in well with the new offense of head coach Chip Kelly since Walker can line up as a fullback, H-Back and tight end. He did have eight drops, however, in 39 targets, so that is a definite drawback.
