Marlins | Martin Prado to DL

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 12:48:08 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a shoulder injury. 2B Jordany Valdespin will be called up to the team in a corresponding roster move.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) will likely be back-dated on his DL stint because he hasn't played in nearly a week. Look for Derek Dietrich ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) to get some more time at third base.

Marlins | Martin Prado to DL

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 07:44:40 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) is headed to the 15-day disabled list Thursday, June 18, and 2B Yordany Valdespin is expected to come up from Class AAA New Orleans.

Fantasy Tip: Jeff Baker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has a .250-3-7 line on the season and should see most of the time at third. He's not a good option on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Martin Prado remains out

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 14:37:12 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi Tuesday, June 16. 2B Derek Dietrich ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will start at third base and is batting second in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) should be considered day-to-day until more is known about his status. Dietrich ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) picked up two hits in his last hits but is still not a great option at this point.

Marlins | Martin Prado sitting out

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 12:38:59 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Masahiro Tanaka Monday, June 15. 3B Derek Dietrich will start at third base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should look for any updates on Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) to see when he may be able to return to the lineup. Dietrich has struck out in both of his at-bats since being recalled and should not be a fantasy option at this point.

Marlins | Martin Prado to miss time

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 22:29:18 -0700

Updating a previous report, Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) said he's in a lot of pain after injuring his shoulder Sunday, June 14, and he could be out the next four days.

Fantasy Tip: Jeff Baker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) could fill in at the hot corner, but he's not much of an option on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Martin Prado injured

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 15:24:24 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) was injured and left the game Sunday, June 14, after falling past first base while trying to beat out a ground ball. Prado is listed as day-to-day after X-rays turned out negative.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) may be out a couple of days if a platelet-rich plasma shot helps the healing. Otherwise, he may be shelved for a while longer, so disable him from your rosters. Donovan Solano could see some time in Prado's place.

Marlins | Martin Prado returns to two-hole

Wed, 27 May 2015 08:44:27 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado is batting second against the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday, May 27.

Fantasy Tip: Since a nine-game, 6-for-38 slump, Prado ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is sporting a respectable nine game hitting streak with five RBI. He has batted cleanup the past seven games, and the switch to the two hole stands to help pad his runs column while yielding fewer RBI opportunities. Facing Gerrit Cole Wednesday isn't the best spot to utilize him in FantasyScore contests, though.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna, Martin Prado flop in lineup

Wed, 20 May 2015 13:29:10 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is hitting second in the batting order against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson Wednesday, May 20, while 3B Martin Prado moves from the two-hole to cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Ozuna ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is hitting .182 (4-for-22) with one RBI since May 12, and Prado ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is hitting .257 (19-for-74) with a homer and six RBI in May. The lineup shift was done with the intent of getting Miami's lackluster offense going. It could work tonight against Anderson, who has pitched very well this year, but until we see results, it's probably best to consider both Ozuna and Prado mediocre plays.

Marlins | Martin Prado resting

Sun, 03 May 2015 08:26:01 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado will rest Sunday, May 3, against the Philadelphia Phillies. Marlins SS Reid Brignac will start at third base and hit sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Brignac ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will have some potential as a GPP play on FantasyScore as he'll take on a right-handed pitcher in Phillies SP Severino Gonzalez. Brignac is still only a .232-hitter against righties and doesn't have a hit this season, so owners could do better, even at the minimum price.

Marlins | Martin Prado owns Cole Hamels

Sat, 02 May 2015 18:44:45 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado hit a three-run home run against Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels Saturday, May 2, and finished the game 2-fo-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored and four RBIs. He is now hitting .315 with nine RBIs in 67 at-bats against Hamels.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has been solid for the Marlins this season, and while he is merely a matchup play at FantasyScore, make sure to start him whenever he faces Hamels.
