Marlins | Martin Prado dialed in

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 19:30:17 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 4-3 win over the Washington Nationals Friday, Aug. 28, extending his hitting streak to seven games.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has two homers, four RBI and five runs scored in his last four games, and he makes a solid value play at FantasyScore while he is swinging a hot bat.

Marlins | Miguel Rojas playing third base

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 11:03:49 -0700

Miami Marlins INF Miguel Rojas will bat second and play third base against St. Louis Cardinals SP Carlos Martinez Sunday, Aug. 16. INF Martin Prado is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting .367 versus righties this season and is 1-for-2 against Martinez in his career. He makes an excellent source of cap relief for FantasyScore owners.

Marlins | Derek Dietrich sitting

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 15:28:57 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Derek Dietrich is out of the lineup Saturday, Aug. 15, with 3B Martin Prado hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) isn't your prototypical third hitter, and John Lackey is tough at home. Prado is hitting .244 this month and isn't a solid FantasyScore start.

Marlins | Miami willing to trade Martin Prado

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 09:55:05 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado could be traded this month, as the Marlins are open to trading him if a team like the New York Yankees is willing to overpay.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been serviceable this year with a .270 average (94-for-348) with four home runs and 31 RBI. The lack of power limits his fantasy value, especially hitting in a pitcher-friendly environment. A trade to a team like the Yankees with a much more potent offense and hitter-friendly home park would make Prado more attractive for sure.

Marlins | Martin Prado dropped in order

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 09:10:17 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado is hitting fifth in the lineup against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Thursday, July 30. OF Ichiro Suzuki moves into the two-hole as a result.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) loses some daily value with a drop down the batting order, and he's even more of a weak play in daily leagues while facing Scherzer, one of the most dominant pitchers in the game today. Suzuki ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is another low-end outfield option.

Royals | Martin Prado may be option for Royals

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 10:07:34 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado could be a trade option for the Kansas City Royals, but the team is showing minimal interest in Prado at this point. The Marlins are willing to trade Prado if they receive the right deal.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) likely would be a utility player if he was traded to the Royals and probably would not see regular playing time. Prado should continue to see regular playing time if he stays with the Marlins and could be an option on FantasyScore against certain opponents.

Marlins | Martin Prado drawing interest

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 18:20:35 -0700

The Miami Marlins have received interest in INF Martin Prado, although they do not appear interested in trading him.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has been serving as Miami's regular second baseman in the absence of Dee Gordon (thumb). While he is a useful player to have on a major league team due to his versatility, he is a risky option in FantasyScore because he doesn't offer a ton of upside.

Marlins | Martin Prado hitless in return

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 19:07:51 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) went 0-for-4 against the Philadelphia Phillies Friday, July 17, in his first start since coming off the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has not played since June, so he could need a few games to develop his timing. He doesn't offer a ton of upside anyway, so you can afford to wait until he catches fire before taking a chance on him at FantasyScore.

Marlins | Martin Prado starting at 2B

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 12:52:51 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) will start at second base against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan Friday, July 17, and is batting second in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has not played since the middle of June because of shoulder injury but is ready to return. He likely will see most of the starts at second base until Dee Gordon (thumb) returns. Prado is a risky option on FantasyScore, and owners may want to see him play in a game or two before using him.

Marlins | Dee Gordon could return this month

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 08:21:39 -0700

Miami Marlins 2B Dee Gordon (thumb) can return July 28 at the earliest. 3B Martin Prado is expected to fill in at second base while Gordon is out.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) doesn't collect enough counting stats to use on FantasyScore on a regular basis.
