Saints | Ted Ginn upgraded to limited at practice

Thu, 14 Dec 2017 15:11:42 -0800

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. (ribs) got in a limited practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

Fantasy Tip: This is an upgrade over yesterday, when Ginn was sidelined, so it's a good sign for his chances of playing on Sunday. The former Carolina Panther has proven to be the ultimate boom-or-bust option throughout his career, and this year has certainly been no different, though he only has a pair of scores to show for his efforts. Ginn has only managed two catches apiece in each of his last two games, so owners would probably be better off rolling with someone else instead.

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. (ribs) was unable to practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn appears to be an early question mark for Week 15. When healthy he is nothing more than a WR4 in most fantasy leagues. Circle back around Friday when the official injury designations come out before making a final decision.

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 19:35:29 -0800

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. caught six passes for 87 yards in a 34-31 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 11.

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 16:20:00 -0800

Fantasy Tip: It was all about the run game for New Orleans and the passing game was on the back burner for a change for the Saints. Ginn remains nothing more than a WR4 or WR5 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 11 against the Redskins.

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 14:54:12 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. caught two passes for 68 yards against the Chicago Bears in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn has been a big-play option for the Saints this season and has at least 66 yards in each of the last three games. Ginn should continue to be a solid option the team's passing game and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 14:42:23 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. caught seven passes for 141 yards against the Green Bay Packers in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn has received a bigger role over the last few weeks and posted his first 100-yard game of season. He is should receive a solid amount of targets against the Chicago Bears next week and can be a No. 3 receiver or a flex option.

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. hauled in four receptions for a team-high 66 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions and he added a three-yard rush.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn's yardage total was his best of the season, and he has now found the end zone in two of the past three games. Despite the decent production, he remains nothing more than a WR4 or flex play in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 7 in Green Bay.

Saints | Ted Ginn not a big factor

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 10:12:42 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. caught two passes for 25 yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn has been in the starting lineup since the start of the season but has only caught four passes in the last two games. He will continue to be a deep threat for Saints but could lose some playing time with Willie Snead coming back. Ginn will only be a flex option against favorable matchups.

Saints | Ted Ginn sinks his former team with score

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 13:41:54 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. posted two receptions for 44 yards and a score in Week 3 at Carolina against his former club.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn was targeted three times while also running once for 15 yards, so he made the most of his opportunities. He appears to be the No. 2 option in the New Orleans pass attack behind Michael Thomas, but he should be treated as a WR4 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 4 against the Dolphins in London. He just doesn't see enough targets as long as Michael Thomas is healthy.

Saints | Ted Ginn targeted six times in loss

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 19:02:52 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. posted three catches for 24 yards in Week 2 against New England and he was targeted six times.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn will get a crack at his former team, the Carolina Panthers, in Week 3. However, he should only be treated as a low-end WR4 or WR5 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.

Saints | Ted Ginn listed as No. 2 WR on depth chart

Mon, 07 Aug 2017 22:39:58 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver on the team's first unofficial depth chart that was just released.

Fantasy Tip: It's doubtful he retains that spot over the emerging Willie Snead, but either way, Ginn will be someone worth monitoring as a late-round sleeper. The 10-year veteran has exceeded 700 receiving yards in each of the prior two campaigns -- the first time he's accomplished that in back-to-back seasons in his career -- and is looking at regular playing time in the Saints' high-powered offense, more likely in the slot. Keep an eye on him, especially in deep formats.

Panthers | Austin Duke could be deep threat

Sun, 16 Jul 2017 17:38:58 -0700

Carolina Panthers WR Austin Duke's speed could help him make the 53-man roster, according to C Jackson Cowart of the Charlotte Observer, and Cowart believes Duke could help fill the role that New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. occupied last season.

Saints | Ted Ginn to be No. 3 WR

Sun, 16 Jul 2017 15:39:56 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. will be the team's No. 3 receiver this season and can also be used as a kick or punt returner.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn posted at least 700 yards in each of the last two seasons but could improve those numbers as part of the Saints offense in 2017. He should receive plenty of playing time this season and could be at least a No. 4 fantasy receiver.

Saints | Ted Ginn to be used in clear way

Thu, 30 Mar 2017 08:29:36 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. will be used in what head coach Sean Payton considers a "crystal clear" vision of how he should be used. "I see him playing at flanker," Payton said. "I see him being a guy that can take the top off the coverage. I like what this guy does."

Fantasy Tip: Ginn scaled back to Earth last season after a career-high 10 touchdowns in 2015. He could be a potent weapon in this offense with a high-end WR3 ceiling that could come at a WR4 price.

Saints | Ted Ginn to Saints

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 08:55:51 -0800

Carolina Panthers impending free-agent WR Ted Ginn Jr. agreed to sign with the New Orleans Saints Thursday, March 9. Terms haven't been disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn's 10 touchdowns in 2015 were probably an aberration, but if he enters the Saints' fold and Brandin Cooks exits, he could be a factor. He actually surpassed his catches and yardage numbers from that big bang in 2015 last season. He'll be a WR4 with potential for more.

Panthers | Carolina want Ted Ginn back

Wed, 01 Mar 2017 14:56:37 -0800

Carolina Panthers impending free-agent WR Ted Ginn Jr. is a player the Panthers would like to re-sign this offseason, according to general manager David Gettleman.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn has been a solid contributor for the Panthers over the last two seasons with 1,491 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns during that span. He probably would have a similar role if he returns to the Panthers and would be a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Broncos | Denver could target Ted Ginn

Mon, 30 Jan 2017 14:13:45 -0800

Carolina Panthers impending free-agent WR Ted Ginn Jr. could be eyed by the Denver Broncos this offseason in an effort to improve their return game, in the opinion of The Denver Post's Cameron Wolfe. CB Kalif Raymond is expected to be a key competitor for the return position, too, with impending free-agent WR Jordan Norwood hitting free agency.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn has proven himself to be a dangerous return man no matter who he's playing for. At 31 years old, though, his role on offense leaves something to be desired. Ginn should not be viewed as more than a late-round option in standard formats.

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. hauled in four receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Week 15 game against the Washington Redskins Monday, Dec. 19. He was targeted eight times.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn nearly had an even better night, but he dropped a long pass play despite being wide open. Fantasy owners have saw that movie before. He remains nothing more than a low-end WR3 in most leagues heading into Week 16.

Panthers | Ted Ginn on track to play

Sat, 17 Dec 2016 10:25:53 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (non-injury) fully participated in practice Saturday, Dec. 17, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn has been more involved in the passing game over the last few weeks and has posted at least 80 yards in two of the last three games and three touchdowns in his last four games. He should receive a decent amount of targets in Week 15 and could be a flex option or possibly a low-end No. 3 receiver in deeper leagues.

Panthers | Ted Ginn Jr. sits out

Fri, 16 Dec 2016 18:40:42 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (non-injury) did not practice Friday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: It was just a maintenance day for Ginn. The speedy receiver will be a boom-or-bust WR3 against Washington in Week 15.

Panthers | Ted Ginn Jr. logs full practice

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 18:23:43 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (non-injury) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 2, and isn't listed on the Week 13 injury report.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn has shown signs of life the last two weeks. He is worth adding if available, but he is a bit of a reach as fantasy play in Week 13 against the tough Seattle secondary.

Panthers | Ted Ginn Jr. back at practice

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 20:21:06 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (non-injury) returned to practice and was a full participant Thursday, Dec. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn earned 10 targets and topped 100 yards last weekend, but he is still a shot-in-the-dark play in Week 13 against the stingy Seattle secondary.

Panthers | Ted Ginn gets mid-week rest

Wed, 30 Nov 2016 18:57:08 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (rest) was held out of practice Wednesday, Nov. 30, as he was given a veteran's mid-week rest.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn is coming off a big game in Oakland, but he is likely to find a lot less space to roam free against the Seattle Seahawks and the Legion of Boom in Week 13.

Panthers | Ted Ginn goes deep for score

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 22:39:05 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. rolled up four receptions for 115 yards in the Week 12 game against the Oakland Raiders, including an 88-yard touchdown in the second half.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn has touchdowns in back-to-back outings after being blanked in the first nine games. His previous yardage high was 62 yards back in Week 3, so temper expectations going forward. He remains more of a WR4 heading into Week 13 on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 21:16:53 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. scored his first touchdown of the season, finishing with three catches for 46 yards and one carry for 13 yards in a 23-20 win over the New Orleans Saints Thursday, Nov. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn is always capable of breaking a big play, but he has been quiet for most of the year. Although he finally scored, he remains a shot-in-the-dark option in DFS formats.

Panthers | Ted Ginn ready to play

Sat, 08 Oct 2016 12:09:15 -0700

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (foot) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn will continue to be the deep threat for the Panthers but has two catches or fewer in three of the four games this season. Owners on all leagues should be able to find better options to use and can avoid Ginn.

Panthers | Ted Ginn Jr. up to speed

Fri, 07 Oct 2016 18:44:17 -0700

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (foot) was a full participant in practice Friday, Oct. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn's role has been drastically reduced this year with Kelvin Benjamin back in the mix, and his value completely depends on big plays. He is too risky to trust in standard leagues, and he is an all-or-nothing option in DFS formats.

Panthers | Ted Ginn listed as limited

Thu, 06 Oct 2016 12:55:03 -0700

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (foot) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn should continue to be a deep threat for the Panthers if he is active for the game. He has caught eight passes for 132 yards so far this season and should only be considered a flex option in deeper leagues at this point.

Panthers | One catch for Ted Ginn Jr.

Thu, 08 Sep 2016 21:19:50 -0700

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. had one catch for five yards on one target in a 21-20 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: As expected the return of Kelvin Benjamin made Ginn an afterthought in the passing game. He could still hit the occasional big play, but he isn't worth owning outside of deeper formats.

Panthers | Ted Ginn could return kicks

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 13:50:24 -0700

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. could be a candidate for the kick returner job during training camp and the preseason.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn should lose some of his targets this season since Kelvin Benjamin is returning from his knee injury, so he could have more time for special teams. He should still be a decent part of the passing game and could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Panthers | Ted Ginn a deep threat

Wed, 27 Jan 2016 16:26:08 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. averaged 16.8 yards per catch and scored 10 receiving touchdowns in the regular season.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn is Carolina's biggest threat to stretch the field on offense. While he will be facing the league's best pass defense in the Denver Broncos, it might only take one big play to change the course of Super Bowl 50.

Panthers | Ted Ginn looks to get on track

Wed, 20 Jan 2016 20:08:52 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. managed just one run for 11 yards and no receptions on one target last weekend against the Seattle Seahawks. He will meet the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) killed any FantasyScore owners taking a chance on him last week. This week he is a nice contrarian play, as he'll have very low exposure with a ton of upside. The Cardinals allowed 56 pass plays of 20 or more yards, so Ginn could produce a big stat line if he can shake free. That's usually his specialty when he actually can make the catch.

Panthers | Ted Ginn Jr. active Sunday

Sun, 17 Jan 2016 09:02:06 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) is active for the NFC divisional-round game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) is a very risky play versus the Seattle defense in FantasyScore because it is unknown how many snaps he will see. He participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 13, and Thursday, Jan. 14, and had been listed as questionable on the injury report.

Panthers | Ted Ginn was shut down by Seattle

Fri, 15 Jan 2016 10:29:18 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. had just one catch for 18 yards in the Week 6 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) is also dealing with a knee injury that caused him to miss some practice time this week. Keep that in mind. Seattle typically shuts down deep threats like Ginn, so running with him on FantasyScore is a risky proposition.

Panthers | Ted Ginn expected to play

Fri, 15 Jan 2016 09:37:14 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) told reporters that he plans to play in the divisional game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 17. Head coach Ron Rivera said doctors told him that Ginn should be fine, and Rivera called Ginn's rest in practice Friday, Jan. 15, as "precautionary."

Fantasy Tip: Ginn ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) is listed as questionable but should play barring a setback. He's been Carolina's most consistent receiver this year despite problems with drops. Against a tough Seahawks secondary, though, Ginn could easily be a bust candidate.

Panthers | Ted Ginn Jr. questionable

Fri, 15 Jan 2016 09:08:08 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) didn't practice Friday, Jan. 15, and he's questionable for the divisional game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Even if he plays, he could see Richard Sherman opposite of him. Ginn ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) doesn't catch a high volume of passes and isn't a good start on FantasyScore.

Panthers | Ted Ginn Jr. going again

Thu, 14 Jan 2016 09:56:48 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) is practicing fully again Thursday, Jan. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) could draw Richard Sherman when the Panthers take on the Seattle Seahawks this weekend, and he's not a promising WR2 on FantasyScore because of his low-catch output.

Panthers | No limitations for J-Stew, Ginn

Wed, 13 Jan 2016 11:45:52 -0800

Updating previous reports, Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said there are no limitations for RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) this week, and both will play against the Seattle Seahawks this weekend. Both players were taken off the injury report Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Fantasy Tip: It's good news for the Panthers, but both Stewart ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) and Ginn ($6,700) are in for a tough matchup against the Seahawks. Both are bust candidates. Make sure to temper expectations, especially for Stewart, who missed the final four regular season games.

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart, Ted Ginn strong

Wed, 13 Jan 2016 10:47:03 -0800

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton said WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) is looking fast in practice Wednesday, Jan. 13, and that RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) is looking strong.

Fantasy Tip: Both Ginn ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) and Stewart ($6,700) are expected to be fine to face the Seattle Seahawks, but both are bust candidates in daily formats. This divisional round matchup figures to be dominated by defense, and Stewart is even more risky after missing the last three weeks.

Panthers | Ted Ginn practicing

Wed, 13 Jan 2016 09:00:14 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) could have the misfortune of drawing Richard Sherman as they face the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round. He's a risky WR2 on FantasyScore because he doesn't catch a large volume of passes.

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart, Ted Ginn will practice

Mon, 11 Jan 2016 09:42:48 -0800

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) will both be on the practice field Wednesday, Jan. 13, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Both Stewart and Ginn missed Week 17 but are expected to play against the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round. RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) is a question mark.

Fantasy Tip: Neither Stewart nor Ginn will be popular daily picks in the divisional round against a stout Seahawks defense. Stewart is especially unattractive coming off an injury against the toughest defense for fantasy players against the run this season.

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart, Ted Ginn limited

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 11:05:42 -0800

Updating previous reports, Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) were both limited at practice Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Both players did conditioning drills on the side Tuesday. With an extra week to rest, you'd expect that both Stewart and Ginn would be ready to go in the divisional round. It's unknown who the Panthers will play, so their value on FantasyScore is still a bit up in the air. Stewart is the bigger question mark with his injury.

Panthers | Three Panthers sit out of practice

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 10:31:53 -0800

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) were conditioning but did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 6. RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) also didn't practice but is out of his walking boot.

Fantasy Tip: The Panthers have an extra week of rest to heal up, so all three of these players could be available for the divisional round. Whittaker is the biggest question mark. Stay tuned on their status as the week progresses.

Panthers | Ted Ginn will not play

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 12:39:39 -0800

Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) has been declared inactive for the Week 17 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: Devin Funchess ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) and Corey Brown ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) should receive more targets with Ginn out of the lineup but neither player is a great fantasy option.
