Rays | Evan Longoria's hit streak over

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 20:19:19 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria was hitless in four at-bats with a strikeout Tuesday, June 30, against the Cleveland Indians to snap a seven-game hitting streak.

Fantasy Tip: Longo ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) wrapped up June hitting .277 with three doubles, three homers and nine RBI with 25 strikeouts in 94 at-bats. He has been a decent mid-level FantasyScore option, but be careful of the Ks.

Rays | Evan Longoria still bothered by wrist

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 06:04:34 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (wrist) is still bothered by his sore left wrist, but he homered in his first at-bat Saturday, June 20, against the Cleveland Indians. Manager Kevin Cash said Longoria is not at risk of causing further damage by playing.

Fantasy Tip: Longoria ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) had singled for his previous nine hits, as the wrist injury has caused a power outage. FantasyScore owners should wait to see a little more pop before investing in Longoria.

Rays | X-rays negative for Evan Longoria

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 20:40:41 -0700

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (wrist) had X-rays after the game Monday, June 15, against the Washington Nationals. X-rays were negative, and the team said he has a bruised left wrist.

Fantasy Tip: Longoria ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) left the game after being hit by a pitch. If he misses time it would likely be Jake Elmore ($2,400; or 4.8% of cap) filling in at third base.

Rays | Evan Longoria leaves game

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 19:05:12 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (wrist) left the game Monday, June 15, against the Washington Nationals after being hit on the left wrist by a pitch.

Fantasy Tip: It’s uncertain how much time, if any, Longo ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) will miss as a result of the injury. FantasyScore players will want to avoid him until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks. Jake Elmore ($2,400; or 4.8% of cap) could see starts in Longoria’s absence.

Rays | Evan Longoria returns to the lineup

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 13:47:08 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (wrist) is batting third and playing third base against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Jered Weaver Wednesday, June 10.

Fantasy Tip: Longoria ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) was mired in a 6-for-33 slump with just three runs and two RBI over 11 games prior to the injury. He is worth returning to your seasonal lineups, but FantasyScore players shouldn't fear fading Longoria Wednesday. His name value likely extends beyond his fantasy value, too, as Longoria's numbers are closer to being a fringe starting third baseman than a top-tier one.

Rays | Evan Longoria expects to return Wednesday

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 14:28:38 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (wrist) took swings in the cages Tuesday, June 9, and is expecting to return to the lineup Wednesday, June 10. He's available to play late in the game Tuesday, as well.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure you don't have Longoria ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) in your FantasyScore lineups tonight. Check back tomorrow before inserting him. If Longoria is in there tomorrow, he sets up to be a nice play against the soft-tossing Jered Weaver.

Rays | Evan Longoria not playing

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 11:21:20 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 9. 2B Jake Elmore is starting at the hot corner and hitting seventh in the batting order against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Matt Shoemaker.

Fantasy Tip: Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has a respectable .288 average (15-for-52), but he doesn't have much power to speak of and remains a low-end outfield play in daily games.

Rays | Evan Longoria not in lineup Sunday

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 11:08:45 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (wrist) remains out of the lineup against the Seattle Mariners Sunday, June 7, due to soreness in his wrist. INF Jake Elmore will play the hot corner for the second consecutive game and bat leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: The Rays have an off day Monday, June 8, so they are hoping Longoria ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) will be ready to return to the lineup against the Tuesday, June 9. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is a career .429 hitter against Seattle, with 15 hits in 35 at-bats and is a potential source of cap relief for FantasyScore owners.

Rays | Evan Longoria dealing with soreness

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 16:26:42 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria said there is nothing "acute" with his wrist, Saturday, June 6. Longoria is sitting out against the Seattle Mariners as he deals with some ongoing soreness.

Fantasy Tip: This isn't a major issue for Longoria ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) but FantasyScore owners should give him some time before making the moderate investment.

Rays | Evan Longoria resting

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 16:02:08 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria is out of the lineup Saturday, June 6, with 3B Jake Elmore in his place hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) isn't worth the start on FantasyScore against stud SP Felix Hernandez.
