Royals | Travis Snider to remain in organization

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 04:30:50 -0700

Kansas City Royals OF Travis Snider has chosen to remain in the organization and will not opt out for free agency. Snider has hit .259/.377/.348 in 162 plate appearances with Class AAA Omaha.

Fantasy Tip: This could be significant in case Alex Gordon has to miss a huge chunk of time with his hand injury. The club could need a corner outfielder, and Snider fits that bill. For now Snider carries little immediate fantasy value, but if you have a very deep dynasty league you may want to consider holding Snider as an option.

Royals | Paulo Orlando set for more PT

Thu, 03 Mar 2016 09:03:24 -0800

Kansas City Royals OF Paulo Orlando is now the front-runner for the everyday job in right field now that OF Jarrod Dyson (oblique) is expected to miss at least six weeks with a strained oblique. OFs Travis Snider, Brett Eibner and Reymond Fuentes could also see time there.

Fantasy Tip: Orlando had seven home runs and three stolen bases in limited time (241 at-bats) in 2015. There's very limited upside for the 30-year-old, but more playing time to start the season could make him useful for stolen bases in deep mixed and AL-only formats.

Royals | KC looking at Denard Span

Tue, 10 Nov 2015 11:04:44 -0800

The Kansas City Royals are interested in free-agent OF Denard Span (Nationals) and Travis Snider (Pirates), according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Span was having a great season for Washington (.301-5-22) with 11 stolen bases before an injury derailed his season (he only played in 61 games). He fits the Royals contact-based style of play and would fit in nicely in an outfield expected to lose Alex Gordon. Targets Span as an undervalued source of stolen bases in the middle rounds of 2016 fantasy drafts.

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Gregory Polanco is not in the starting lineup Sunday, Sept. 13. OF Travis Snider is starting in right field and batting seventh against Milwaukee Brewers SP Taylor Jungmann Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Polanco ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Sunday. He is off to a slow start this month with a .196/.241/.294 slash line through his first 12 September games. Snider ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is nothing but a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore Sunday, as he has struggled to gain any traction at the dish this season and owns a .658 OPS for the year.

Orioles | Travis Snider starting Tuesday

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 14:40:23 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Travis Snider will start in left field and bat seventh against the Minnesota Twins Tuesday, July 7.

Fantasy Tip: Snider ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has really struggled over his last 17 games, hitting just .177 while tallying 22 strikeouts. Look elsewhere for outfield options on FantasyScore until Snider can get back on track.
