Orioles | David Lough draws into lineup

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 14:06:31 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF David Lough is starting in left field and hitting ninth against Texas Rangers SP Yovani Gallardo Thursday, July 2. OF Travis Snider is starting on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Lough ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) should be an afterthought on FantasyScore, especially at the tail end of B'more's lineup. Plus, Gallardo only allowed two earned runs in 33 1/3 innings over his last five starts. Stay away from Lough tonight.

Orioles | Travis Snider starting Tuesday

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 13:08:57 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Travis Snider is starting in left field and hitting eighth against Texas Rangers SP Colby Lewis Tuesday, June 30.

Fantasy Tip: Snider ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is actually hitting better against lefties (.313) than righties (.259) this year, but he has all three of his home runs against right-handers, and Lewis has struggled in his career against the O's. Camden Yards is a hitter's park, too, making Snider an intriguing sleeper play on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Steve Pearce hitting fifth

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 08:19:37 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Steve Pearce is starting in left field and hitting fifth in the order Sunday, June 28, against the Cleveland Indians and RHP Trevor Bauer. OF Travis Snider comes out of the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) went 3-for-5 with two doubles in his most recent game, representing his third multi-hit game in June. Pearce is hitting just .200 against righties for the season, and he comes with a very low floor on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Travis Snider hitting second

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 13:39:20 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Travis Snider is starting in left field and hitting second against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber Friday, June 26. OF Chris Parmelee was dropped to fifth in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Snider ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) sees his FantasyScore value take a slight boost while hitting second, but he's not all that attractive while facing last year's AL Cy Young in Kluber. Parmelee ($2,900) is an even weaker option for daily gamers tonight.

Orioles | Travis Snider sitting against lefty

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 09:15:22 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Travis Snider is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox left-handed SP Eduardo Rodriguez Thursday, June 25. OF Steve Pearce is starting in left field and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) last started a game last Friday, and he's hitting only .206 (29-for-141) on the season with six home runs and 22 RBI. Rodriguez has allowed just an earned run or less in four of his first five major league starts. Pearce is a weak daily pick.

Orioles | Travis Snider not starting

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 13:32:18 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Travis Snider is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada Friday, June 19. OF David Lough will start in left field and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Snider ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) probably will return to the starting lineup in the next game or two. Lough ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has picked up at least one hit in each of his last three games but only batting .231 this month and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Travis Snider hitting well of late

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 20:00:55 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Travis Snider went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored against the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday, June 17. He has driven in seven runs in his last seven games.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore owners may want to consider using Snider ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) as a source of productive cap relief, particularly on days when the O's face right-handed pitchers.

Orioles | Delmon Young sitting vs. Phillies

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 12:44:43 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Delmon Young is not in the starting lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies Monday, June 15. OFs Nolan Reimold and Travis Snider are starting in the outfield against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang Monday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Young ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Monday, and he could potentially lose playing time against right-handed pitchers with Snider ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) holding the handedness advantage, and Reimold ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) hitting well. The trio projects to split starts going forward, though, so their seasonal value is tied to AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues only, unless someone pulls ahead of the back and earns everyday at-bats. FantasyScore players should consider Reimold ahead of Snider as a means of cap relief Monday.

Orioles | Travis Snider in vs. Phillies

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 12:26:17 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Travis Snider is batting seventh and playing left field against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang Monday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Snider ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has struggled of late with a .410 OPS over his past nine games, and he doesn't have an extra-base hit during the run. FantasyScore players should view him as a low-priced flier for contests. However, there is upside given the favorable matchup against Harang.

Orioles | Nolan Reimold hitting second

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 13:41:17 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Nolan Reimold is starting in left field and hitting second in the order Saturday, June 13, against the New York Yankees and left-hander CC Sabathia. OFs Jimmy Paredes and Travis Snider come out of the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Reimold ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has gone 2-for-8 with a solo home run in his two previous starts. Reimold is a career .253-hitter against lefties, but he should be considered for GPP contests while batting so high in the order.
