Rockies | Drew Stubbs recalled

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 18:24:22 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Drew Stubbs was recalled from Class AAA Albuquerque Thursday, July 2. In a corresponding move, OF Rafael Ynoa was optioned to Class AAA Albuquerque.

Fantasy Tip: At his best, Stubbs offers an intriguing combination of power and speed. However, he is hitting just .118 in 24 games this year and has given fantasy owners no reason to trust him. Until he shows signs of life, he can be ignored at FantasyScore.

Colorado Rockies OF Drew Stubbs was sent to Class AAA Albuquerque on Wednesday, May 20. OF Brandon Barnes was recalled in a corresponding move.

Rockies | Drew Stubbs starting vs. Phillies

Mon, 18 May 2015 14:10:29 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Drew Stubbs is starting in center field and batting seventh against the Philadelphia Phillies Monday, May 18.

Fantasy Tip: Stubbs' ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) fantasy value could receive a huge boost with Corey Dickerson dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Currently Stubbs is struggling mightily at the dish (.109 batting average), but he has flashed five-category upside in the past. A speculative Stubbs add in deep mixed leagues isn't out of the question. FantasyScore players would be wise to take a wait-and-see approach with him, though.

Rockies | Corey Dickerson out again Monday

Mon, 18 May 2015 14:03:07 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson (foot) is not in the starting lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies Monday, May 18. OF Drew Stubbs is starting in center field and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Dickerson ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats Monday. He is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot, and there is potential Dickerson lands on the disabled list. Stubbs ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) stands to receive the biggest fantasy boost if Dickerson misses time, and Stubbs has five category potential. However, Stubbs is currently reeling through a 5-for-46 start to the season. In the short time, view Stubbs as a risky FantasyScore play until he improves at the dish. Continue to check back for updates on Dickerson's status.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon resting Wednesday

Wed, 13 May 2015 16:10:56 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, May 13. OF Drew Stubbs is starting in center field and hitting seventh in the batting order against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Hector Santiago.

Fantasy Tip: Stubbs ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has just three hits in 32 at-bats this year. Even though Stubbs played very well against southpaws in 2014 (.328/.395/550) with seven home runs, his slow start this year should keep you from clicking him at FantasyScore.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez on bench

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 10:25:29 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is not in the starting lineup Thursday, April 23. OF Drew Stubbs is starting in center field and hitting seventh in the batting order against San Diego Padres SP Tyson Ross.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is in a bad slump to start 2015, going 10-for-56 (.179) with one home run and five RBI. Until he gets back on track, you'll probably want to bench him in standard leagues, and avoid him at FantasyScore. Stubbs ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) doesn't come recommended for daily gamers, as he's much better against left-handed pitchers.

Rockies | Drew Stubbs starting in CF

Fri, 10 Apr 2015 10:17:11 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Drew Stubbs is in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Travis Wood Friday, April 10. Stubbs is starting in center field and batting sixth in the lineup in place of OF Charlie Blackmon.

Fantasy Tip: Stubbs ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is not a bad buy-low outfield option at all at FantasyScore. Stubbs last year hit an impressive .328 with seven home runs against left-handed pitchers in 131 at-bats. He also has five hits in 12 career at-bats against Wood in his career. Consider him a sneaky good play today.
