Orioles | Chris Davis dialing long distance

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 22:21:17 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis connected with a three-run home run Monday, Aug. 3, against the Oakland Athletics. It was his only hit in five at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) has posted eight home runs with 22 RBIs over his past 13 games. He needs to be part of your FantasyScore plans while he is hitting for regular power.

Orioles | Chris Davis keeps crushing

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 20:18:45 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and a run scored in a 9-8 loss to the Detroit Tigers Thursday, July 30, and he has six home runs in his last nine games.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) has 16 RBI during his last nine games, and while he remains a streaky hitter, he is worth every penny at FantasyScore when he is launching homers on a daily basis.

Orioles | Chris Davis drives in five runs

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 20:14:02 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis belted two home runs with five RBIs Tuesday, July 28, against the Atlanta Braves. It was his 10th career multi-homer game, and third this season.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) has cranked up the power lately, belting five homers with 12 RBIs over his past seven games. He is a great mid-level FantasyScore option due to his power potential.

Orioles | Chris Davis hits grand slam

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 19:20:04 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays Saturday, July 25.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is a high-risk, high-reward play at FantasyScore, but he has three homers and seven RBI in his last four games and could be worth taking a chance on at FantasyScore while he is dialed in at the plate.

Orioles | BAL hoping to keep Chris Davis

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 17:40:59 -0700

The Baltimore Orioles are expected to make a qualifying offer to 1B/OF Chris Davis, who is scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Entering play Friday, July 24, Davis ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) was batting .241 with 21 home runs and 55 RBIs through 92 games. He remains an excellent source of power for FantasyScore owners who are looking to save a bit of money at the first base position that don't mind a low batting average.

Orioles | Chris Davis staying in RF?

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 10:20:36 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis has made 14 starts in right field this season, and he figures to start there again when the second half of the season starts Friday, July 17, against the Detroit Tigers. OFs Chris Parmelee and Steve Pearce have been playing first base. Davis isn't a stranger to the position, as he played 30 games in right field in 2012.

Fantasy Tip: The main reason for moving Davis ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) was done to keep both Parmelee and Jimmy Paredes in the lineup. Davis' owners can't complain, as he has added another position for eligibility, and in some leagues he's also eligible at third base. Davis remains an excellent source of power in all fantasy formats, but he won't do you any favors in batting average thanks to a poor contact rate.

Orioles | Chris Davis staying in Baltimore

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 09:30:52 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis has been the subject of trade rumors and sources have confirmed that the Orioles had internal discussions about trading Davis. They ultimately decided to keep Davis while they remain in playoff contention. Davis is eligible for free agency after the season and the Orioles have not had any real negotiations about an extension. Davis is tied for the team lead in home runs with 19 and leads in RBI with 52.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has dual-position eligibility in most leagues minimizing the damage of a .235 batting average and making his home runs and RBI that much more valuable. Davis' value should remain the same going forward without any meaningful change even if he is eventually traded.

Orioles | Chris Davis update

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 16:50:17 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Baltimore Orioles 1B/OF Chris Davis (illness) was scratched Saturday, July 11, with the stomach flu.

Fantasy Tip: With the All-Star break two days away, there's probably little chance he'll play Sunday. Steve Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) will likely fill in as a low-end option on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Chris Davis scratched

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 15:56:24 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis was a late scratch Saturday, July 11, with OF Steve Pearce taking his place in the sixth spot.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has a tough matchup against Jordan Zimmermann, and we'd like to see some sustained success before using him on FantasyScore. As for Davis, it's unknown if it's an injury situation or he simply needed a rest day.

Orioles | Three hits for Chris Davis

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 16:26:31 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis went 3-for-4 with a run, a double and a RBI during the Orioles' 5-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins Wednesday, July 8.

Fantasy Tip: Davis ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) entered the game on a roll with 16 runs, six home runs, 18 RBI and a .273/.354/.475 slash line over his past 27 games. While far from all-world numbers, it certainly is an improvement over the .196/.300/.404 line he posted in 2014. It wouldn't be out of the question to count on a solid second half from Davis, especially with the Baltimore lineup now healthy.
