Orioles | Chris Tillman dazzles

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 19:48:19 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman allowed one hit over eight shutout innings and struck out eight in a win over the Detroit Tigers Saturday, July 18.

Fantasy Tip: Tillman ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) still owns an ugly 4.96 ERA for the year, but he has thrown well lately, allowing just four runs over his last four starts and striking out 24. If you are going to take a chance on Tillman as a low-priced sleeper at FantasyScore, there is no better time.

Orioles | Chris Tillman being pushed back

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 15:40:02 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman will receive an extra day of rest between his next start, and he will pitch again Saturday, June 27, against the Cleveland Indians. Tillman has insisted that he is fine physically after meeting with manager Buck Showalter.

Fantasy Tip: Tillman ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) allowed six earned runs in just 1 1/3 innings in his last start Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays, and he's sporting a 6.22 ERA on the year. Until the right-hander settles into a groove on the mound, he's not an attractive daily option.

Orioles | Chris Tillman struggles with Jays

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 16:01:36 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman faces the Toronto Blue Jays Sunday, June 21. He's 0-3 with a 12.51 ERA against Toronto this season.

Fantasy Tip: That's about as big of a red flag to avoid Tillman ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) as there could be. He has struggled all year. Pass on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Chris Tillman is Boston strong

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 18:00:19 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman will face the Boston Red Sox Thursday, June 11, in a home start. He has been shaky this season, going 3-7 with a 5.61 ERA in 11 starts. However, he won his only start of the season against the Red Sox April 18 in Boston, giving up just one run with five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings.

Fantasy Tip: Since the start of the 2012 season Tillman is 8-2 with a 2.42 ERA in 15 starts against the Red Sox, his most wins against any opponent during the stretch. It takes a bit of a leap of faith to use Tillman in FantasyScore, but at just $3,900 (or 7.8% of cap) there isnít as much risk as some of the bigger names on the board.

Orioles | Chris Tillman will start Thursday

Tue, 19 May 2015 18:49:56 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman (back) will start Thursday, May 21, against the Seattle Mariners.

Fantasy Tip: Tillman ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) owns a 6.34 ERA and a 5.09 xFIP through seven starts this season. FantasyScore owners need to look elsewhere until Tillman strings a couple of solid outings together.

Orioles | Chris Tillman expected to start Thursday

Mon, 18 May 2015 13:27:44 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman (back), who was pushed back in the rotation due to lower back spasms, is expected to start Thursday, May 21, against the Seattle Mariners. Tillman has improved and is not a candidate for the disabled list, barring a setback.

Fantasy Tip: Tillman ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has allowed at least four runs in his last two starts and is sporting a 6.34 ERA on the season with 27 earned runs in 38 1/3 innings. In his first start from back spasm, it'd be wise to ignore him at FantasyScore later this week against the M's.

Orioles | Chris Tillman may start Tuesday

Sun, 17 May 2015 11:17:44 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman (back) is feeling better and could be the starting pitcher Tuesday, May 19.

Fantasy Tip: Tillman ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) was scratched from his last start but could be ready to pitch again in a few days. Tillman has struggled in some of his starts this season and may not be a great option to use on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Mike Wright likely to debut

Sat, 16 May 2015 17:27:47 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Mike Wright is likely to make his major league debut against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Sunday, May 17, in place of SP Bud Norris (illness) and SP Chris Tillman (back).

Fantasy Tip: Wright has been solid at Class AAA Norfolk (Va.) this year, posting a 2.64 ERA and striking out 30 in 30 innings. He is worth keeping an eye on in his debut, but he is too risky to use as a spot starter.

Orioles | Chris Tillman scratched for Sunday

Sat, 16 May 2015 15:44:21 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman (back) was scratched from his start Sunday, May 17, with back stiffness, but he could be ready for his next start.

Fantasy Tip: Tillman ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) would face the Seattle Mariners if he's able to go later this week. Keep an eye on his status.

Orioles | Bud Norris feeling under the weather

Fri, 15 May 2015 13:33:51 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Bud Norris (illness) is sick again, and his start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Saturday, May 16, is in jeopardy. SP Ubaldo Jimenez would start Saturday, if needed, with SP Chris Tillman starting Sunday, May 17.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players will want to check for an official announcement, because Norris ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been pitching awful (9.88 ERA with a league-worst 30 earned runs allowed this season). Jimenez ($4,900, 9.8% of cap), on the other hand, appears locked into rebounding in 2015.Jimenez is currently sporting a 2.41 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and a 8.6 K/9.
