Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Cobb (concussion) pitched four innings in a simulated game on Thursday, July 18, at Class A Advanced Port Charlotte and said it went well. The pitcher said he's scheduled to make a rehab start for the Stone Crabs on Tuesday, July 23, when he's expecting to pitch four innings or make 60 pitches. Next up would be a start on July 28, when he'd go five frames or throw 75 pitches.
Fantasy Tip: Sounds like Cobb is making nice progress and could be back in early August. The Rays could always ask him to make another start, or even two, after these initial outings, especially if Chris Archer continues to pitch well. Perhaps they'll consider moving Roberto Hernandez to the bullpen when Cobb returns.

The Tampa Bay Rays announced SP Chris Archer will be called up to start Saturday, June 1.
Fantasy Tip: It might be a highway to the danger zone. The Cleveland Indians have been hitting well lately, and the 24-year-old still has control issues. Archer is worth a sensibly priced speculation in deep mixed leagues, though, and he should be owned in AL-only and full-retention mixed keeper setups. The length of his stay may depend on the timetable for David Price (triceps) but could be a decent stretch if any other dominoes fall.
