Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Cobb will start the team's opening day game in 2015, according to manager Kevin Cash. Cobb went 10-9 with a 2.87 ERA in 27 starts in 2014 and is the team's ace after SP David Price was traded to the Detroit Tigers. SPs Chris Archer and Drew Smyly will follow Cobb in the rotation.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb has really come into his own as the Rays' ace starter. He's a notch below the elite fantasy ace names out there, but he could put up just as good numbers in a full season, making him a bargain in the middle rounds of standard 12-team leagues.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Jeremy Hellickson will start Saturday, July 26, against the Boston Red Sox. SP Chris Archer will go Sunday, July 27.
Fantasy Tip: Hell Boy was sent down because of the All-Star break and the desire to keep him on a normal rotation schedule. He's a deep-mixed option for the pitching-desperate. There's a smidge of a chance for a good performance down the stretch.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer hasn't been able to put hitters away with two strikes, has had trouble avoiding the big inning and hasn't been able to get right-handers to chase his slider in his last three outings, in which he's 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA with 10 walks and 11 strikeouts. Opponents are hitting .277 against him with two strikes. Manager Joe Maddon has suggested that Archer go with a quicker tempo. "I'm just not locating," Archer said. "I try to throw like super nasty ones instead of just my normal slider, so just focusing on changing my focal point instead of making my pitch sharper or better."

Fantasy Tip: Chalk it up as one poor outing. He remains a steady fantasy contributor worth using in most formats.
