Dodgers | Brett Anderson fans 10

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 05:48:33 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson struck out 10 batters through seven innings while allowing a single run on five hits and a walk during the Dodgers 7-1 win over the Miami Marlins Friday, June 26. Anderson earned his fourth victory of the season in the outing.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson's ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) 89 innings this season are the most he has pitched in one year since the 2010 campaign. He sports respectable ratios (3.13 ERA, 1.29 WHIP), but his win (four) and strikeout (62) columns leave a lot to be desired. He currently should be viewed as a low-end option in mixed leagues and a matchup play at FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Brett Anderson good at home

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 13:56:08 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson is 1-1 with a 2.78 ERA in six career starts at Dodger Stadium. He has two quality starts in three outings against the Arizona Diamondbacks this year, but didn't record a decision in either outing.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) profiles as a good play tonight in daily contests. The D-backs lineup is weakened with the departure of Mark Trumbo to the American League, and this game will take place in a pitching-friendly environment, where Anderson has excelled.

Dodgers | Brett Anderson earns complete game

Sat, 09 May 2015 05:24:31 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson allowed one unearned run on six hits and a walk over five innings to record his second win of the season Friday, May 8. With the game being called due to severe weather in the fifth inning, Anderson was credited with a complete game.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) only struck out one hitter, but that has never been a huge part of his mound game, as he has a career 6.9 K/9. So far this season, he has a 4.7 mark, so perhaps an uptick in punchouts is coming. Still, through six starts, his 3.52 ERA and 1.37 WHIP hold value in deep mixed and NL-only formats. Plus, pitching for the first-place Dodgers should help Anderson pad the win column. He is a nice low-priced starter for FantasyScore players, too.

Dodgers | Brett Anderson taking it slow

Sun, 22 Feb 2015 19:06:06 -0800

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson (back) is having his workload managed as he returns from lower back surgery. Every Los Angeles pitcher who threw a bullpen session Friday, Feb. 20, threw again Sunday, Feb. 22, except for Anderson. He played extra catch instead expects to throw a bullpen session Monday, Feb. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson is expected to be the team's fifth starter. In many places that wouldn't mean much for fantasy owners, but the Dodgers will be contenders and he could face some favorable pitching matchups if he can revert back to form and stay healthy.

Dodgers | LA not pursuing big-name starters

Sat, 03 Jan 2015 10:05:49 -0800

Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi said the team's signings of Brett Anderson and Brandon McCarthy have taken them out of the running for any big-name starting pitchers that remain in free agency. "We don't comment on specific free agents or specific economic classes of free agents, but like I said, our focus on the starting pitching side is going to be depth options either at Triple-A or guys who could potentially serve as a long man in the bullpen," Zaidi said.
