Vikings | Adrian Peterson confused by doubters

Fri, 24 Feb 2017 21:07:59 -0800

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson said he perplexed by those who question whether or not he can bounce back in 2017.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson delivered miraculous comebacks in 2011 and 2015, but age is not on his side. He could still be a RB2 in the right situation, but his chances of being an elite back again are slim.

Vikings | No talks between Vikings, Adrian Peterson

Fri, 24 Feb 2017 14:10:26 -0800

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said he has not talked with RB Adrian Peterson at this point but will not make a decision on Peterson's contract until he talks with him and his agent. Spielman said the team will make a decision before the start of free agency.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson likely will not return to the Vikings under his current contract but could stay with the team if he restructures his contract. Peterson probably will be with a new team in 2017 but may not be able to handle a workload like he did in the past. Peterson could be a No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues depending on his role.

Vikings | Minnesota undecided on Adrian Peterson

Thu, 23 Feb 2017 12:38:37 -0800

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's future with the Vikings is still in limbo. General manager Rick Spielman said Minnesota hasn't yet made a decision on their running back, but it's unlikely that Peterson remains a Viking if he's not willing to take a big pay cut. He is due $18 million next season.

Fantasy Tip: Drafting Peterson this offseason is much too risky of a proposition after he suffered another serious knee injury last year. He has missed 28 games the last three seasons and may be close to the end of his career. He obviously has RB1 potential when he's healthy, but it's just too risky to take him in RB1 territory, wherever he plays.

Vikings | Pat Shurmur focused on running game

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 14:55:47 -0800

Minnesota Vikings RBs Adrian Peterson and/or Jerick McKinnon could see increased usage in 2017 with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. Shurmur wants to improve the offense as a whole, but he said the key and focal point of the offense will be to do a better job in the running game.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson's future with the Vikings remains unclear, but either he or McKinnon could be better used next season, with Matt Asiata remaining in a change-of-pace and passing role. No matter who Peterson plays for in 2017, drafting him will be playing with fire considering he's missed almost two full seasons in the past three years.

Giants | NYG hasn't shown interest in Adrian Peterson

Sun, 19 Feb 2017 07:20:01 -0800

The New York Giants have not expressed interest in acquiring Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, even though the 32-year-old veteran has hinted that he wouldn't mind playing for the team if he doesn't return to the Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Unless Peterson agrees to take a significant pay cut this offseason, his playing days in Minnesota could be over. He should receive the bulk of the carries wherever he lands and is still capable of being a solid fantasy contributor, although his age and recent injury history mean he should no longer be viewed as an RB1 in most fantasy formats.

Giants | Adrian Peterson keeping tabs on NYG

Thu, 16 Feb 2017 18:41:24 -0800

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson tweeted Wednesday, Feb. 15, that the New York Giants have been "making some interesting moves" this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson has already said he would have interest in joining the Giants, and with the release of Rashad Jennings, the Giants could be in the market for a back. Wherever Peterson ends up in 2017, he is likely to see enough carries to provide RB2 production.

Cowboys | Dallas an option for Adrian Peterson?

Sun, 05 Feb 2017 12:00:23 -0800

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson could be in play with the Dallas Cowboys as a potential free agent, according to league sources.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson is a Texas native, but this seems like an unlikely marriage from the Cowboys' perspective for multiple reasons. First and foremost, an aging Peterson isn't play much over Ezekiel Elliott. Secondly, "All Day" isn't particularly strong in the passing game, so he wouldn't even be a third-down upgrade for Dallas. Additionally, Peterson isn't going to come cheap and probably wouldn't be all that open to accepting a pure backup role anyway.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson's future being analyzed

Fri, 03 Feb 2017 20:08:08 -0800

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's future with the team won't be decided until some "tough analysis" is performed, according to president Mark Wilf.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson will likely have to agree to a pay cut to return to Minnesota, and there is a good chance he plays elsewhere in 2017. His days as a fantasy stud are likely in the past, but he will still be an intriguing option in 2017 if he lands with a strong offense.

Giants | Adrian Peterson interested in Giants

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 09:37:41 -0800

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson said he would be interested in the New York Giants if he becomes available this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The Giants have used multiple running backs over the last few years and may be interested in Peterson as their main back. Peterson should receive most of the carries wherever he goes and can be a No. 2 running back in most leagues.

Buccaneers | Tampa Bay an option for Adrian Peterson?

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 09:31:18 -0800

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson said he would be interested in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if he becomes available this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The Buccaneers may be looking for a running back this offseason with Doug Martin serving a suspension and Jacquizz Rodgers scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent. Peterson probably will be the starter if he joins the Bucs and could be considered a No. 2 running back in fantasy.
