New York Yankees OF Brett Gardner (abdominal) underwent a minor surgical procedure last month to fix a core muscle injury, and he is expected to be ready for spring training next year. He is finishing up his physical therapy after the surgery. The Yankees said Gardner's right rectus abdominis muscle was fixed Oct. 16. "I'm just about feeling 90 to 95 percent from that," Gardner said. "I should be back to 100 percent here in about a week or so and pretty much have my normal offseason from here on out, and get ready for 2015."

"I don't feel like I'm close to 100 percent, so hopefully I'll come in feeling better (Sunday), Gardner said. I don't have any tests scheduled or anything. Just got some treatment today and that's it."
