Kansas City Royals OFs Jarrod Dyson and Emilio Bonifacio will platoon in center field with OF Lorenzo Cain (oblique) on the disabled list, according to manager Ned Yost.
Fantasy Tip: Bonifacio could also be mixed in at second base to spell Chris Getz, if needed, so his extra avenues to playing time make him a little more valuable than Dyson in cavernous mixed universes. Both players are speedy and can give you stolen bases down the stretch.

Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas (calf) felt good while taking ground balls before the game Friday, Aug. 16. "It feels good," said Moustakas. "I got to go out and take some ground balls, and I'm ready in case Skip needs me." Moustakas could start sometime this weekend, but a better guess for him is a return Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Moose will be able to avoid a disabled list stint, unless he suffers a setback this weekend. Emilio Bonifacio, who has been playing third base in his absence, will move to a utility infield role when Moustakas is back. Bonifacio has slumped with the bat this year, but his speed makes him an asset in AL-only leagues.

Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas (calf) remains out of the lineup for the team's doubleheader Friday, Aug. 16, and he will do work on the field so the team can assess his progress.
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas could still land on the disabled list if he doesn't start improving soon. Prepare for that possibility. Emilio Bonifacio's value will increase in the short term if that happens.

Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost said the team will use 2B Emilio Bonifacio primarily against right-handed pitchers because they like how he hits when he is hitting from the left side.

Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas (foot) is walking without a boot Thursday, Aug. 15, and will take part in some light on-field work.
Fantasy Tip: This is a good sign that Moose might be able to avoid the disabled list, but he's not out of the woods yet. Emilio Bonifacio is expected to take his spot at third base for however long he's sidelined.

Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas (foot) remains out of the lineup Thursday, Aug. 15, with INF Emilio Bonifacio taking over at the hot corner.

Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas (calf) is wearing a walking boot while dealing with tightness in his left calf, but the team said the walking boot is only a precautionary measure to relieve pressure in his calf. He's hitting .293 with four home runs and 13 RBIs since the All-Star break. Manager Ned Yost said it's possible Moustakas will land on the disabled list. SS Elliot Johnson started at third Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson isn't the answer if Moustakas lands on the DL. That's why the Royals traded for infield utility man Emilio Bonifacio Wednesday. Bonifacio's worth will increase in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues if Moose is sidelined longer.

The Kansas City Royals have acquired INF/OF Emilio Bonifacio from the Toronto Blue Jays for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Fantasy Tip: Bonifacio will again have a chance at playing time, presumably, now that Miguel Tejada (calf) is reportedly out for the rest of the season. Bonifacio may still have mixed-league value -- or at least more AL-only value -- before the season ends.

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Emilio Bonifacio is the player most likely to be traded by the deadline Wednesday, July 31. The team is also shopping OF Melky Cabrera.

Toronto Blue Jays SS Munenori Kawasaki will be worked in at second base with 2B Emilio Bonifacio.
Fantasy Tip: Kawasaki had been a major spark plug for the Blue Jays when Jose Reyes was on the DL. This will cut into the minimal deep mixed value that Bonifacio carries, although he could mix in in left field with Melky Cabrera (knee) on the DL.
