Giants | LF to be revolving door for SF

Fri, 04 Sep 2015 16:00:29 -0700

San Francisco Giants OFs Nori Aoki, Gregor Blanco, Juan Perez and Alejandro De Aza will rotate in left field based on matchups, according to manager Bruce Bochy.

Fantasy Tip: This configuration will likely hold up until Hunter Pence returns from his injury. Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has the most fantasy value, as he'll likely be in there most of the time against righties, and he has the best bat of the bunch. In the right matchups, Blanco is hard to ignore at that salary. The others will be hit or miss down the stretch.

Giants | Juan Perez starting in left field

Fri, 04 Sep 2015 14:55:23 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Juan Perez is starting in left field and batting eighth against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Friday, Sept. 4. OF Gregor Blanco is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) would typically be a fantasy afterthought, but with the game being played at Coors Field, he shouldn't be completely ignored. If you're looking to open up some cap space to spend up elsewhere, Perez checks out as a viable source of savings.

Giants | Gregor Blanco sitting vs. lefty

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 15:36:18 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco is not in the lineup against Colorado Rockies left-handed SP Chris Rusin Thursday, Sept. 3. OF Juan Perez is starting in left field and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has a juicy matchup if you're looking to catch lightning in a bottle tonight on FantasyScore. The reserve outfielder is hitting .368 but with just seven hits in 19 at-bats this season.

Giants | Gregor Blanco in two-hole

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 16:29:24 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco is starting in left field and hitting second against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) actually has decent numbers against left-handers (.290/.362/.371), but Kershaw is a rare breed and has been lights out in the second half. It would be wise to avoid Blanco tonight.

Giants | Gregor Blanco has sore neck

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 18:35:33 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco (neck) is out of the lineup Tuesday, Sept. 1, against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to neck discomfort.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco's ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) injury doesn't sound too serious, but avoid him in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a game or two without any lingering effects of the ailment.

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 17:05:58 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco (hip) will bat seventh and play center field against St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha Friday, Aug. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is batting .268 during the month of August and is hitting .365 at home this season, making him a productive source of cap relief for FantasyScore owners.

Giants | Gregor Blanco still out vs. Cubs

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 11:10:40 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco (hip) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 27. OF Juan Perez is starting in center field and batting seventh against Chicago Cubs SP Dan Haren Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has been a sneaky low-end value at FantasyScore and in deep seasonal leagues. Avoid him in all formats until he returns to the lineup. Perez ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has just 13 plate appearances this season, so he is nothing but a dice roll in daily contests Thursday.

Giants | Gregor Blanco scratched

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 18:45:45 -0700

The San Francisco Giants scratched OF Gregor Blanco (hip) from the lineup Wednesday, Aug. 26, against the Chicago Cubs due to a strained left hip.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any lingering effects of his injury. Juan Perez ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) replaced him in the lineup.

Giants | Gregor Blanco dropped in batting order

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 13:40:29 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco is hitting eighth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke Friday, Aug. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Now that Nori Aoki is back from the DL, expect Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) to hit lower in the order until Angel Pagan is back from injury. The drop in the lineup isn't as nice for his daily value, and he's not a strong play against a lefty tonight on FantasyScore. None of Blanco's three homers this year were off left-handers.

Giants | Gregor Blanco out of the lineup

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 15:39:43 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 19. 2B Kelby Tomlinson is batting leadoff, and OF Juan Perez is starting in center field and batting eighth against St. Louis Cardinals SP Jaime Garcia Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats Wednesday. He has gained fleeting value in cavernous mixed and NL-only formats, as he has leadoff and played center field each of the past five games. Still, he is a low-end option. It isn't out of the question to bump Tomlinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) up a notch on your FantasyScore priority list Wednesday. He owns a .333/.357/.519 slash line over 12 games since being recalled to the Giants. Perez ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) owns a .567 OPS over 210 plate appearances for his career, so you'll want to aim higher in daily contests.
