Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe will be suspended for one game for substance abuse, and he'll miss the season opener against the Tennessee Titans, according to a team source.
Fantasy Tip: Bowe's status as an undervalued sleeper for fantasy leagues is quickly fading. This news just contributes to that further. He's also dealing with a finger injury that has led to inconsistency in training camp and dropped passes. The Chiefs already don't have many reliable receivers beyond Bowe. For Week 1 against the Titans, Travis Kelce may be your best bet in daily games, especially now that Bowe will miss the contest.

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe's (finger) finger is "shot", according to head coach Andy Reid. "It's been thrown out of place about 15 times, and he's not catching the ball," Reid said. "But he's getting his work done. You can practice with that type of thing."
Fantasy Tip: He's not expected to miss any time except an occasional day off for maintenance. He's a good WR3 in fantasy.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe dropped some weight and has been working with a personal trainer this offseason, and he seems to be doing his part to rebound from a disappointing 2013 season. However, Kansas City's offense is built around Jamaal Charles, making Bowe a WR2 at best this year.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe has the potential to be a solid value pick in later rounds because of the volume of targets he'll receive. The upside may be limited, but the floor is borderline starter territory, especially in PPR formats, where he is a third fantasy option. Bowe bounced back from his previous career-worst season with his best in 2010.
