New York Jets impending free-agent PK Nick Folk said Wednesday, Feb. 12, that he is hopeful of returning to the team, and feels there is mutual interest. "I want to keep all options open, but, yeah, we've been there for four years now. We like it. I love playing for (head coach Rex Ryan), and this year with (general manager John Idzik) was awesome, it was a lot of fun. It's a good, young group of guys. We really enjoy New Jersey/New York. We'd love to stay; I think they'd love to have us stay."

However, he missed badly on a 48-yard field goal in the first half which was driven to the right by a gusty wind. He fell one short of the franchise record of 24 straight field goals set by former PK Jay Feely.

Fantasy Tip: Folk isn't even being drafted as a Top 25 fantasy option according to the average draft position (ADP) rankings. The winner of this job will have very little fantasy value unless the Jets suddenly morph into an offensive juggernaut. Unlikely.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports Dallas Cowboys PK Nick Folk could be replaced by the team, according to team sources. Folk has missed a league-high 10 field-goal attempts. Some inside the organization think his 26-yard miss Week 15 shows he cannot be trusted on kicks of any length, according to sources. The team is reluctant to release Folk, but the team could consider placing him on Injured Reserve since he underwent offseason hip surgery.

PK David Buehler went 3-for-4, with his only miss coming from 35 yards. In individual drills, Folk went 4-for-4 and Buehler went 3-for-4.

Folk also made three field goal attempts from 51 yards before the team's practice. Two of his kickoffs reached the goal line. Folk said, "It's getting there. It's a little sore, but that's to be expected. We've just got to push through it and take some breaks. But it's feeling better than it did all of last year."
