NFL | Ahmad Bradshaw back to full health

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 10:36:27 -0700

Free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw (leg) has been cleared to resume playing after suffering a fractured fibula last year. Bradshaw had eight touchdowns and 725 total yards in 10 games for the Indianapolis Colts in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: Bradshaw shouldn't be drafted in standard fantasy football leagues, even if he latches on with a club for running back depth.

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 20:31:21 -0700

Free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw (Colts) has been suspended one game for violation of the league's substance abuse policy. If he signs with a team he must sit out for the first week.

Fantasy Tip: Bradshaw has very little fantasy appeal, even if he latches on with a club.

NFL | Ahmad Bradshaw pleads no contest

Mon, 11 May 2015 09:50:03 -0700

Free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw (Colts) pleaded no contest and paid a fine to settle a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession in Ohio. He paid $351 in fines under the plea agreement, and his Ohio driving privileges were suspended for six months. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league will review Bradshaw's case "under our policies."

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear if Bradshaw will face punishment from the league, and he already wasn't attractive to teams on the open market after suffering a broken leg in 2014. Bradshaw could still land with a team before the 2015 season, but he's unlikely to have much, if any, fantasy value.

NFL | Ahmad Bradshaw trial update

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 13:25:16 -0700

Updating previous reports, free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw (Colts) did not have any additional drugs aside from marijuana when he was charged with a misdemeanor marijuana count while driving, according to crime lab tests. Bradshaw has pleaded not guilty and has a pretrial conference scheduled for April 8.

Fantasy Tip: Bradshaw's fantasy value is a long way from being properly gauged at this point. Wait and see how the trial turns out and if he's signed by anyone following that situation.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw's trial rescheduled

Wed, 25 Feb 2015 13:24:25 -0800

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw's pretrial conference has been rescheduled to April 8 as authorities await crime lab results. Bradshaw pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge for allegedly possessing marijuana when he was pulled over on an Ohio interstate earlier this month.

Fantasy Tip: If Bradshaw is found guilty, he could face a suspension. If he is cleared, his fantasy value is still somewhat unclear as the Colts could pursue a running back in free agency or the NFL Draft, or both, considering Trent Richardson and the team are at odds. Stay tuned to this situation leading up to Bradshaw's pretrial conference.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw cited for pot possession

Sat, 14 Feb 2015 01:09:20 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw, who can file for free agency and sign with another team next month, was cited in Dayton, Ohio, for marijuana possession and following too close to another vehicle.

Fantasy Tip: Although Bradshaw projects as an RB3 in the offseason, this case bears watching because Bradshaw could be subject to the NFL personal conduct policy. A suspension could put Bradshaw behind in terms of catching on with the Colts or a new team.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw update

Tue, 20 Jan 2015 07:05:17 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw (leg) has shed the cast on his leg and is in walking boot Tuesday, Jan. 20. He hopes to begin working out soon and is interested in re-signing with the team in the offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Bradshaw had an electric season before succumbing to a broken leg. He'll likely have competition if he re-signs, but he'll be an RB3 option in traditional drafts.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw placed on IR

Tue, 18 Nov 2014 11:54:39 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw (leg) was placed on Reserve/Injured Tuesday, Nov. 18. Bradshaw suffered a broken leg in Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Trent Richardson will take over as starter in Indianapolis with Dan Herron also in the mix. Richardson ($5,600, 11.2%) has a favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12, while Herron ($3,600, 7.2%) could make for a sneaky play in point-per-reception scoring formats like FantasyScore.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw not going on IR yet

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 13:02:44 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Bradshaw probably likely will miss multiple weeks because of the injury and could miss the rest of the season if the injury is severe. Trent Richardson likely will receive a majority of the carries while Bradshaw is out with Dan Herron also receiving additional work.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw finding his touches

Mon, 20 Oct 2014 17:32:54 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw is on pace for a combined 215 rushes and receptions and 1,753 total yards this season.

Fantasy Tip: Trent Richardson has been receiving more carries, but Bradshaw's versatility has made him the more effective back. Throw in the fact that Andrew Luck has looked Bradshaw's way a lot in the red zone, and when the Colts have a friendly matchup, Bradshaw is the back to own at FantasyScore.

Colts | Indy RBs to split the load

Fri, 12 Sep 2014 06:06:49 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RBs Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw are expected to split carries in Week 2. Richardson rushed only six times for 20 yards in Week 1 because the team fell behind early. However, in his limited work, he showed improved vision and decisiveness.

Fantasy Tip: Richardson ($4,200; 8.4% of your cap) is a decent flex option on FantasyScore. Bradshaw ($5,300; 10.6%) may be a little pricey given his injury history and timeshare at the position.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw resting

Thu, 11 Sep 2014 15:14:08 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw (rest) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Bradshaw has been injury-prone in his career, so be expected to see him sitting out practices frequently this year. He rushed just three times for 15 yards in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, but he contributed five catches for 70 yards, too. With Trent Richardson looking wildly mediocre again, Bradshaw could be money at FantasyScore for $5,300 (10.6% of cap) in a setup that rewards receptions. Monday night figures to be a shootout against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sat, 09 Aug 2014 18:35:17 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) was wearing a red no-contact jersey during practice Saturday, Aug. 9.

Fantasy Tip: If Trent Richardson fails to take carry the load in the backfield, Bradshaw could end up serving as the team's lead back. As it stands, he is worth snatching up later in drafts as a possible upside pick.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw looking good

Tue, 29 Jul 2014 10:13:03 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw has been consistent so far in camp, and he's not showing any limitations with his neck, which caused him to miss the final 13 games of last season. "He looks fantastic," head coach Chuck Pagano said. "He has found the groove to make it. We know how tough Ahmad is. We know how he's wired, so I'm not going to be pulling back on the reins. He's one of those guys we have to protect them from themselves. It will take care of itself. He's not one of those guys that will think about what he went through."

Fantasy Tip: Bradshaw is an interesting fantasy option. He's extremely risky because of his health, but if he enters the season fully healthy and Trent Richardson continues to be bothered by injuries or poor performance, Bradshaw could easily usurp him as the top back for the Colts. Bradshaw's stock is slowly rising right now.

Colts | Vick Ballard tears Achilles'

Fri, 25 Jul 2014 16:08:49 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Vick Ballard (Achilles') suffered a torn Achilles' tendon during practice Friday, July 25.

Fantasy Tip: Ballard likely will miss the entire season because of the injury. Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw probably will get a majority of the reps at the position unless the team adds another back. Richardson should be considered a starting running back in all fantasy leagues, while Bradshaw probably would be a later-round pick that could be a No. 4 or 5 running back on a team.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw cleared

Thu, 24 Jul 2014 05:29:06 -0700

Colts | Trent Richardson will need to produce

Sat, 12 Jul 2014 09:15:31 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Trent Richardson will need to produce right away in the running game if he wants to keep the starting job, because the team will not wait for him to turn things around if RB Ahmad Bradshaw or Vick Ballard are playing well.

Fantasy Tip: Richardson is getting the first chance to start, but he could find himself on the bench if he fails to produce. Richardson should be considered a low-end No. 2 running back in drafts this season. Owners could consider taking a late-round flier on Bradshaw or Ballard since there is a chance they could take over the starting job if Richardson falters, but it is not known which back would have more value at this point.

Colts | Trent Richardson will get first chance to start

Mon, 30 Jun 2014 13:20:08 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Trent Richardson will be given the first shot at starting running back. He is more talented than RBs Ahmad Bradshaw and Vick Ballard, and the Colts don't want to show that their trade for him last September was a failure.

Fantasy Tip: Due to Richardson's poor 2013 season, he stands to reward nicely as an RB2. Bradshaw and Ballard are late-round fliers.

Comment (0) | Share: Tweet!Share on Facebook | Source: ESPN.com - Mike Wells

Colts | Trent Richardson, Ahmad Bradshaw competing for RB job

Mon, 16 Jun 2014 12:22:26 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RBs Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw wore red non-contact jerseys during organized team activities as they compete for the team's starting running back role. That battle is expected to intensify during training camp, but both will see playing time, no matter who is the official starter. Head coach Chuck Pagano has stated he wants a workhorse running back, however.

Fantasy Tip: Our money would be on Richardson to be that workhorse for the Colts. Bradshaw and Vick Ballard are coming off injuries and Richardson needs this season to prove he wasn't a trade bust. If the Colts continue to use Richardson in the passing game the way they did later on in the 2013 season, he should be a safe PPR RB3 with RB2 potential. It's best to use more caution with Bradshaw, who is currently listed as the team's No. 3 running back.

Tue, 11 Mar 2014 15:07:39 -0700

The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed unrestricted free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw (Colts) to a one-year deal. The financial terms have not been disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Bradshaw has marginal fantasy football value, largely because of his extensive injury history. Monitor his expected involvement going forward, but consider him no better than a flier on draft day.

Colts | Coach says Trent Richardson part of future

Mon, 13 Jan 2014 13:01:59 -0800

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said RB Trent Richardson is still a part of the team's future even though he struggled this season. "He wants to be great. He's got all the talent, he's got all the ability. We would never have done what we did if we didn't believe that. We look for him to have a great offseason and have a great 2014 campaign."

Fantasy Tip: Richardson's fantasy value for next season is uncertain because it is not known what the team will do at the position during the offseason. It is not known if the team will re-sign Donald Brown or if Ahmad Bradshaw will be able to return from his neck injury.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw waiting to decide on surgery

Fri, 04 Oct 2013 11:54:00 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) will take some time to decide whether to undergo surgery on his neck. "Ahmad has obviously seen several specialist, collected a lot of information," head coach Chuck Pagano said. "He's going to take the next couple of weeks to kind of sit back and decide where he's going to go with this thing. I don't know ultimately where that is. But in the end, it'll be up to Ahmad and the doctors to come to a final decision on what's going to transpire there. He'll be out at least a couple more weeks." RB Trent Richardson will continue as the starting running back, with RBs Donald Brown and Robert Hughes backing him up.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't look good for Bradshaw's chances of returning anytime soon, let alone this season. Dropping him for more valuable options at this time is probably the right course of action. Brown is worth stashing in deeper leagues as insurance for T-Rich.
