New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees said he would like to play until he is 45 years old. "No doubt. There's no question," Brees said. "I'm not getting ahead myself, like it's a pipe dream, at 45. I understand the challenges that come along with that. But why not? If I can stay healthy, and I'm having fun and playing at a high level, why wouldn't I wanna do that? The biggest challenge is physically, the maintenance, the recovery, the way you train. You gotta hope that you stay healthy, but why not?"
Fantasy Tip: While playing until 45 may be a stretch, Brees is not slowing down. He is still one of the top fantasy football quarterback options.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees said he wants the team to have a quick resolution to TE Jimmy Graham's contract situation so that the two have valuable time together on the field before the season starts. "Jimmy's my guy," Brees said in a sit-down interview late last month. "I want what's best for him. I want what's best for the team. Certainly there's a way that everybody can be happy coming out of this deal. But it is part of the process, and I went through something similar to this two years ago, so I get it." The Saints have eight days to work out a long-term deal with Graham, and sources expect negotiations to extend up until the deadline on July 15.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees said he knows whether TE Jimmy Graham will be ruled as a tight end or a wide receiver. Brees said he spoke with arbitrator Stephen Burbank, who clued him in on how he will rule. "He kind of let me know what his ruling is going to be," Brees said. "But he swore me to secrecy, so I can't really say at this point."

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees thinks the offense will be fine at mandatory minicamp this week in the absence of TE Jimmy Graham, who is waiting on a franchise-tag dispute. Graham led the team last year with 86 catches, 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns. "Look at our numbers over the last eight years," Brees said. "We've had a lot of different guys in there. Jimmy's only been here four years. He's only been here half the time. We were putting up some pretty big numbers before he got here, and we've been putting up some big numbers since he's been here."

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, 35, isn't ruling out playing into his 40s, as long as he is healthy and playing at a high level. Brees is entering his 14 NFL season, and his current contract with the Saints runs through the 2016 season.

The New Orleans Saints selected Oregon State WR Brandin Cooks with the 20th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: Meet the new Darren Sproles-Lance Moore in N'awlins. Cooks is in a fine situation to succeed immediately with Drew Brees feeding him via throws and carries. He's ideally a WR5 for fantasy drafters but worth a reach if there's little left in the sleeper pool.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees called TE Jimmy Graham a "hybrid" when asked if he saw Graham as a tight end or a receiver. Graham could file a grievance with the league after he was franchise tagged by the team as a tight end rather than a wide receiver. "He plays a different position than anybody in the league," Brees said. "So he'll be cutting edge with whatever he gets (paid). And everybody will try to compare themselves to him five years from now."

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees showed his support for impending free-agent TE Jimmy Graham Friday, Jan. 31, by standing on radio host Dan Patrick's desk and shouting, "I want Jimmy Graham back!" Graham has led the team with 270 catches for 3,507 yards and 36 touchdowns in the last three seasons. The Saints are fully expected to re-sign Graham, even if they have to place the franchise tag on him for 2014.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees said he believes impending free-agent TE Jimmy Graham should be considered a tight end if the team places the franchise tag on him. Graham may be asked to be categorized as a wide receiver because he lined up as a tight end only 33 percent of the time this season.
