New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (ribs, shoulder) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 23.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas isn't expected to play this week, so Travaris Cadet could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore at $3,300, especially in point-per-reception leagues.
Wed, 22 Oct 2014 13:37:21 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (rib, shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 22.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas is expected to miss a few weeks, so he should not be an option for fantasy owners this week. Travaris Cadet probably will serve as the team's third-down back with Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson playing on first and second downs. Cadet could have the most value in point-per-reception leagues since he likely will be part of the passing game. Cadet costs $3,300 on FantasyScore this week with Ingram costing $4,800 and Robinson costing $4,300.

New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (shoulder) is expected to miss two to three weeks due to a shoulder injury, according to sources.
Fantasy Tip: Travaris Cadet ($3,300; 6.6% of your cap) is probably the largest benefactor as he was starting to take a bite out of Thomas' receiving back role. He has 9 catches for 78 yards and a score the last two weeks combined and is a cheap flex option. Mark Ingram ($4,800; 9.6%) should be a better start on FantasyScore w/ Thomas gone as well. Khiry Robinson ($4,300; 8.6%) is likely in the doghouse after losing a fumble on three carries over the weekend.
Sun, 19 Oct 2014 12:27:36 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (shoulder) left the team's Week 7 game early because of a shoulder injury.
Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson likely will share the work at running back while Thomas is out of the lineup. Both Ingram and Robinson are solid flex options for owners in most weeks.
Fri, 17 Oct 2014 13:57:37 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (illness) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 17, and is probable for Week 7.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas was able to practice on Friday, which is a good sign for his availability on Sunday. He will cost you $5,600 in FantasyScore this week.
Thu, 16 Oct 2014 13:30:14 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (illness) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 16.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas did practice Wednesday so hopefully this is just a temporary ailment. His price is still relatively cheap at $5,600 on FantasyScore.
Wed, 15 Oct 2014 16:30:25 -0700
Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (thumb) said he hasn't been limited at all after returning to practice this week, and he no longer has a brace on his hand. "I'm ready to go full go, 100 percent, full tilt," Ingram said. "I've been getting all the reps in practice. They haven't babied me or eased me into practice, so I've been doing everything, catching, running, blocking, everything." However, head coach Sean Payton has been mum on how the team will split repetitions between Ingram and RBs Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions.
Fantasy Tip: Take note that Ingram should be back this week. That makes his low cost at FantasyScore intriguing, but be cautious. The three-headed monster could be back, making it a frustrating week-to-week guessing game.
Sun, 12 Oct 2014 07:07:46 -0700
New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (shoulder) is expected to miss two to three weeks after the bye week in Week 6, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: The Saints offense relies on Graham most, but, honestly, the entire depth chart could benefit in his absence. Look for more reliance on Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas and Marques Colston in the red zone.
Sat, 11 Oct 2014 11:11:58 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas is currently RB11 in point-per-reception leagues. Thomas has seen a noticeably decreased role in the running game, but is still top-five among running backs in catches (22).
Fantasy Tip: Thomas should be an every-week starter in PPR leagues even if/when Mark Ingram returns after the team's Week 6 bye.
Sun, 05 Oct 2014 20:12:23 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas carried four times for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he had eight receptions for a team-high 77 yards with another score.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas saw a lack of production in Week 4, but he certainly made up for lost time for his fantasy owners. He remains a decent RB2/3 or flex fantasy play in most deeper formats.
Thu, 18 Sep 2014 07:12:25 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson's workload will increase after RB Mark Ingram's (hand) injury. "He's another back we feel like is young (but) is someone that'll be ready for the workload," said head coach Sean Payton.
Fantasy Tip: Pierre Thomas is the front runner to see the lion's share of the work. However, Robinson's stock is on the rise. He's priced at $4,500 or 9% of your salary cap on FantasyScore in Week 3.
Thu, 21 Aug 2014 07:53:50 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas said he expects to do more route running and assist in pass protection as his role is expected to change this season.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas is third on the depth chart and may have some slight value in PPR leagues in good matchups. However, he doesn't have much fantasy value in standard leagues.
Mon, 11 Aug 2014 05:30:10 -0700
New Orleans Saints RBs Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson have pulled ahead of RB Pierre Thomas at running back.
Fantasy Tip: As has been the case previously in New Orleans, the running back committee will make all three options frustrating for fantasy football owners. The pecking order could easily change before Week 1, too. All three rushers may be nothing more than flex plays most weeks, and Thomas will definitely be more valuable in PPR affairs.

Wed, 08 Jan 2014 16:36:57 -0800
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (chest) did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 8. Thomas hasn't practiced since before Week 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fantasy Tip: Wait and see how Thomas fares for the rest of the week. But as of now, it's probably likely that he'll be at least questionable again versus the Seattle Seahawks. If he doesn't play, expect to see Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles and Khiry Robinson continue to split the workload.
Sat, 04 Jan 2014 16:05:46 -0800
The New Orleans Saints have declared SS Isa Abdul-Quddus, DL Keyunta Dawson, WR Nick Toon, RB Pierre Thomas, QB Ryan W. Griffin, CB Terrence Frederick, DL Tyrunn Walker inactive for Week 18.

New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (chest) did not practice again Friday, Jan. 3, and is ruled out for the team's Wild Card game this weekend.

Thu, 02 Jan 2014 13:43:01 -0800
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (chest) did not practice Thursday, Jan. 2.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas was injured in Week 17, but the Saints aren't giving anymore details about his injury. It's obviously pretty serious and it might keep him out of the Wildcard playoff game Saturday night.

Sat, 21 Dec 2013 08:46:13 -0800
The New Orleans Saints could consider releasing RB Mark Ingram or Pierre Thomas this offseason because RB Khiry Robinson has received a bigger role in the offense. The team would save around $1.4 million if Ingram is released and $2.9 million if Thomas is released.
Fri, 22 Nov 2013 08:50:22 -0800
New Orleans Saints RP Pierre Thomas had 10 rushes for 73 yards and five catches for 57 yards in the team's Week 12 win over the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, Nov. 21.
Fantasy Tip: It helped that Darren Sproles was inactive for this one. Still, it reminds us that Thomas can be very effective in both the passing and running game, and he should see valuable touches even when Sproles returns to action.
Sun, 06 Oct 2013 15:13:04 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas performed well in a return to his hometown in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears. He had 19 carries for 36 yards, which wasn't great, but he also caught nine passes for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas' fantasy stock continues to rise, and he can now be treated as a low-end RB2 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 6 against the New England Patriots.
Sun, 22 Sep 2013 08:46:49 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (toe) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 3 game.
Fantasy Tip: Pierre Thomas likely will receive more carries with Ingram out. Darren Sproles likely will handle his role as runner and receiver in the offense. Sproles should be seen as a No. 2 running back for teams this week with Thomas being a No. 3 running back or flex option.
Wed, 18 Sep 2013 18:41:49 -0700
The New Orleans Saints traded RB Chris Ivory (Jets) during the offseason, unjamming what was a crowded backfield. However, RB Mark Ingram (toe) has yet to take advantage through the first two games, running for just 31 yards on 17 carries. In Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ingram struggled early, and the team featured RB Pierre Thomas more.
Fantasy Tip: Ingram might need a change of scenery to realize his potential. He is a back who might need 20-25 carries to get into a groove and get stronger as the game goes on, but that isn't the game plan in New Orleans. For now, he is only worth hanging onto if you need an RB3 or flex player in leagues of 12 or more teams. And at least than two yards per carry, so far, even that might be generous.
Mon, 09 Sep 2013 17:16:50 -0700
New Orleans RB Pierre Thomas was quietly effective in the Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons, finishing with 43 yards on nine carries. The Saints ran the ball 29 times, and plan to run more to help the passing game. Last season, the Saints had 29 or more rushing attempts just twice, 28 or more three times.
Fantasy Tip: If you're looking for rushing yardage in New Orleans, Thomas and Mark Ingram are your best fantasy bets. Darren Sproles is the man for those in points-per-receptions (PPR) formats.
Wed, 21 Aug 2013 20:36:06 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Travaris Cadet fumbled twice in the preseason game against the Oakland Raiders Friday, Aug. 16, and he drew the ire of head coach Sean Payton. Fri, 09 Aug 2013 13:15:01 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram has looked very good during practices and could be seen as the player with the best training camp performance so far. He is looking like he did as a rookie when the first defender usually had a hard time bringing him down.
Fantasy Tip: It appears like Ingram is the favorite for a majority of the carries in the base offense with his training camp work. Darren Sproles is still the first Saints running back fantasy owners should look to take, but Ingram appears a better choice than Pierre Thomas at this point. Ingram likely will be a solid No. 3 running back entering the season.
Fri, 09 Aug 2013 08:05:35 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram will be the lead running back in the preseason opener Friday, Aug. 9, with RB Pierre Thomas (undisclosed) out. Ingram has looked strong, fast, fluid and a little slimmer in camp thus far.

New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas is listed as the starting running back on the team's first depth chart.
Wed, 24 Jul 2013 15:07:14 -0700
New Orleans Saints RBs Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas are expected to evenly split carries in base packages this season with RB Darren Sproles resuming is role as a multi-purpose running back.
Fantasy Tip: All three running backs should have value in fantasy leagues this season, but Sproles probably will have the most value. He should be a No. 2 running back in point-per-reception leagues and a flex option in other formats. Ingram and Thomas should be seen as No. 3 running backs or flex options in leagues.
Fri, 07 Jun 2013 13:47:17 -0700
New Orleans Saints RBs Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles have been receiving most of the carries with the first-team offense over the past three weeks. Thomas has been receiving most of the carries while Sproles has been doing different things depending on the play. RB Mark Ingram has been working mostly with the second-team offense during workouts. It appears the team will use the hot hand during games this season and not stick with one running back.
Fantasy Tip: Sproles likely will have the most fantasy value among the team's running backs because of his ability to produce in the running and passing game. Sproles should be considered a No. 1 running back especially in point-per-reception leagues because of his receiving abilities. Thomas and Ingram should be backup running backs on fantasy teams that could be flex option in some weeks.
Thu, 16 May 2013 16:08:24 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram said he does not want his personal goals to outweigh the team's goals this season. "I just want to go out there and do what I can to help the team win a championship," Ingram said. "Of course I want to have a big year individually. But, you know, the main goal is to win games and stay healthy and be out there on the field on Sundays." Ingram said he is fine with sharing carries with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles.
