Orioles | Jimmy Paredes sitting out vs. Rangers

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 12:57:10 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Jimmy Paredes is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 29. 2B Steve Pearce draws into the lineup at first base, and he is batting seventh against Texas Rangers SP Wandy Rodriguez Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Paredes ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is heating back up, as he is riding a 19-for-44 stretch with 10 runs, three home runs, 10 RBI and a 1.163 OPS over his past 12 games. Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is beginning to turn the corner offensively, too, with a .357/.400/.500 slash line over his past 11 games, but he is still a huge risk for FantasyScore players.

Orioles | Steve Pearce hitting fifth

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 08:19:37 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Steve Pearce is starting in left field and hitting fifth in the order Sunday, June 28, against the Cleveland Indians and RHP Trevor Bauer. OF Travis Snider comes out of the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) went 3-for-5 with two doubles in his most recent game, representing his third multi-hit game in June. Pearce is hitting just .200 against righties for the season, and he comes with a very low floor on FantasyScore.

Orioles | Travis Snider sitting against lefty

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 09:15:22 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Travis Snider is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox left-handed SP Eduardo Rodriguez Thursday, June 25. OF Steve Pearce is starting in left field and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) last started a game last Friday, and he's hitting only .206 (29-for-141) on the season with six home runs and 22 RBI. Rodriguez has allowed just an earned run or less in four of his first five major league starts. Pearce is a weak daily pick.

Orioles | Steve Pearce enters starting lineup

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 15:33:39 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Steve Pearce will be the starting left fielder against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada Friday, June 19. OF Adam Jones has been moved to designated hitter and OF David Lough will start in center field. OF Jimmy Paredes has been removed from the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting .296 with four RBI in limited at-bats this month, but owners on FantasyScore likely will be able to find more consistent options to use. Owners should take Paredes ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) out of their lineups if they are using him.

Orioles | Steve Pearce starting at first

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 13:48:55 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 2B Steve Pearce is starting at first base and hitting eighth in the order Saturday, June 13. 1B Chris Davis will serve as the designated hitter against LHP CC Sabathia.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is slowly rebounding from a horrendous start to the season, going 5-for-14 in his last four games. Although Pearce is hitting just .231 against lefties, he can be used in GPP contests as he goes up against the struggling Sabathia.

Orioles | Steve Pearce, Nolan Reimold starting

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 12:29:53 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Steve Pearce is starting at first base and hitting eighth against Boston Red Sox SP Wade Miley Thursday, June 11, while OF Nolan Reimold is starting in left field and hitting second.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is struggling this year (.202-6-20), and he's hitting only .216 (8-for-37) with two of his six home runs against lefties in 2015. That makes him a low-end FantasyScore option. Reimold ($1,900, 3.8% of cap), who made his season debut Tuesday, should be ignored for now.

Orioles | Jimmy Paredes not playing Tuesday

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 13:09:11 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Jimmy Paredes is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 9. 1B Chris Davis is serving as the designated hitter, while OF Steve Pearce receives the start at first base.

Fantasy Tip: Both Davis ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) and Pearce ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) shouldn't excite daily gamers all that much against Boston Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez, who has been lights out so far in his MLB career. Rodriguez has been especially tough on lefties (.167/.167/.250), too.

Orioles | No Jimmy Paredes Thursday

Thu, 04 Jun 2015 10:24:14 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Jimmy Paredes is not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 4. 1B Chris Davis is serving as the designated hitter against Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel, while OF Steve Pearce receives the start at first base.

Fantasy Tip: Paredes is in the midst of a 2-for-18 (.111) slump as he starts to see regression to the mean take its effect. Davis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is hitting .302 (13-for-43) with three of his 12 home runs off lefties, but he's a weak play today against Keuchel, who induces ground balls over 60% of the time.

Orioles | Steve Pearce will play Sunday

Sun, 31 May 2015 08:15:06 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Steve Pearce will be the starting left fielder Sunday, May 31.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has recorded two home runs and three RBI in his last four games. He is hitting only .194 this season but he could still be an option on FantasyScore because of his recent success.

Orioles | Steve Pearce starting in LF

Thu, 28 May 2015 09:18:03 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Steve Pearce is starting in left field and hitting sixth in the batting order against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale Thursday, May 28. OF Travis Snider starts on the bench against a tough left-hander.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is hitting just .190 (20-for-105) this year, but he has six home runs after going deep yesterday. A meeting with Sale, one of the nastiest left-handers in the game, isn't a great time to use Pearce at FantasyScore, though.
