Wed, 22 Jun 2016 19:54:57 -0700

The Tampa Bay Rays placed 2B Steve Pearce (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list and manager Kevin Cash said Pearce might be out longer than two weeks due to his strained right hamstring.

Fantasy Tip: With Pearce on the shelf it might be Nick Franklin who benefits the most from extra playing time. Avoid Pearce in all fantasy leagues until he can officially return and play a handful of games without any setbacks.

Rays | Steve Pearce sitting vs. Cleveland

Tue, 21 Jun 2016 11:44:12 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Steve Pearce (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 21. SS Taylor Motter is starting in left field and batting seventh against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Take a wait-and-see approach with Pearce over the next few days. A decision on his status should be made sooner than later. Motter owns a disastrous .198/.313/.339 slash line through 67 plate appearances this season and faces a high-end pitcher Tuesday. Don't fret fading Motter in all fantasy formats.

Rays | Logan Forsythe, Steve Pearce back in

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 13:43:09 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe (shoulder) and 1B Steve Pearce (elbow) are both back in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Friday, June 10. Forsythe is starting at second base and is hitting leadoff, while Pearce is at first base and is batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe has found a home in Tampa and in the leadoff spot for the Rays, and he was hitting a cool .308 with four home runs, 12 RBI and three steals before his injury. Safely return him to starting lineups in all formats. Pearce has dealt with an elbow issue recently but is slashing to the tune of .321/.403/.537 with eight homers and 21 RBI. He's unlikely to hit that well going forward, but he's a decent value selection in daily leagues and can help with power in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.

Rays | Two Rays sit

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 10:38:52 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Steve Pearce (elbow) and SS Brad Miller are out of the lineup Wednesday, June 8. SS Taylor Motter is leading off, and 2B Tim Beckham is hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Motter has a .182-2-6 line in 44 at-bats, but he has some upside at leadoff. He's a fringe DFS option against Archie Bradley. Beckham isn't much of a DFS option.
