|Marlins | Mat Latos much better on the road|
Wed, 17 Jun 2015 19:13:13 -0700
Miami Marlins SP Mat Latos is scheduled to face the New York Yankees Thursday, June 17. He has posted a 1-2 record with a 2.42 ERA in four road starts, striking out 21 batters over 22 1/3 innings with a .241 opponent average as opposed to his 1-2 mark, 7.90 ERA and .316 opponent batting average in six home starts.
Fantasy Tip: Latos ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) is a good value play in FantasyScore given his solid road splits and the fact he is facing CC Sabathia, a guy who has a 9.00 ERA in four home outings.

|Marlins | Mat Latos fantastic in return|
Sat, 13 Jun 2015 16:04:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The 11 K's were the most he has had in nearly two years. It's one start, but it's a great sign to see this version of Latos again. He's a meager $3,700 (7.4% of cap) on FantasyScore, which makes him an awesome buy at this rate.

|Marlins | Mat Latos to return Saturday|
Wed, 10 Jun 2015 15:30:47 -0700
Miami Marlins SP Mat Latos (knee) will be activated from the 15-day disabled list to start against the Colorado Rockies Saturday, June 13. He last pitched May 21 and will be taking the rotation spot of SP Brad Hand.
Fantasy Tip: Latos ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) currently has a 6.12 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in nine starts (42 2/3 innings) for the Fish. He'll probably remain on the waiver wire in shallow mixed leagues when he returns from the DL, and there's no reason to risk using him on FantasyScore against the Rockies in his first start back from the DL.

|Marlins | Mat Latos working way back|
Mon, 01 Jun 2015 18:19:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Itís uncertain how long Latos will remain sidelined, but FantasyScore owners should shy away from him until he can officially return and prove his health in a full start without any setbacks.

|Marlins | Mat Latos placed on DL|
Sat, 23 May 2015 10:07:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Latos ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is one of four Miami starting pitchers currently on the disabled list, along with Jose Fernandez (elbow), Henderson Alvarez (shoulder) and Jarred Cosart (head). He is 1-4 with a 6.12 ERA through his first nine starts and has battled ongoing knee problems. Latos is not worth keeping stashed except in deep NL-only and mixed fantasy leagues.

|Marlins | Mat Latos expected to make next start|
Sun, 17 May 2015 11:11:26 -0700
Updating a previous report, X-rays for Miami Marlins SP Mat Latos (shin) came back negative. Manager Mike Redmond expects to make his next scheduled start against the Arizona Diamondbacks Thursday, May 21, even though he is walking with a slight limp.
Fantasy Tip: There is still the slight possibility that Latos ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) could have his next start pushed back a few days. If that is the case, Tom Koehler ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) could re-enter the rotation to make a spot start Thursday, or the Fish could promote Justin Nicolino from the minors.

|Marlins | Mat Latos day-to-day|
Sat, 16 May 2015 11:52:05 -0700
Miami Marlins SP Mat Latos (shin) suffered a shin contusion during his start against the Atlanta Braves Saturday, May 18, after being struck in the leg by a line drive off the bat of OF Cameron Maybin. He is listed as day-to-day.
Fantasy Tip: If Latos ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is unable to make his next start, the Fish could turn to Tom Koehler ($3,400, 6.8% of cap), who was recently demoted to the bullpen because Henderson Alvarez ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is close to returning to the rotation. Koehler relieved Latos in Saturday's game and has little fantasy value as a reliever but could be useful in a starting role.

|Marlins | Mat Latos pitching well in May|
Sat, 16 May 2015 06:37:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Over their last six games the Braves have only scored 23 runs, so Latos ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) stands as a nice low-priced flier for FantasyScore players. Since his horrible first outing (seven earned runs over 2/3 of an inning), Latos sports a 2.94 ERA with 28 strikeouts over 33 2/3 innings. Latos should be viewed as an end-of-the-rotation starter in the majority of seasonal leagues going forward.

|Marlins | Mat Latos settling in|
Sun, 10 May 2015 19:14:37 -0700
Miami Marlins SP Mat Latos had his longest outing of the year, allowing one run on seven hits and striking out five over seven innings in a no-decision against the San Francisco Giants Sunday, May 10. He has allowed two runs over his last 13 1/3 innings, lowering his ERA to 4.72.
Fantasy Tip: Latos ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has been slowly rounding into form after an awful season debut, and he is pitching well enough to be used at FantasyScore when he draws favorable matchups.

|Marlins | Mat Latos feeling good|
Tue, 05 May 2015 21:48:10 -0700
Miami Marlins SP Mat Latos (hamstring) allowed one run and two hits over 6 1/3 innings Tuesday, May 5, against the Washington Nationals. He also walked five and struck out six. "That was probably the best I've felt all year," Latos said.
Fantasy Tip: Latos ($4,600; 9.2% of cap) picked up his first win, but he'll need to string together a few more performances like this before FantasyScore players can trust him on a regular basis.
