Blue Jays | David Price will start Monday

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 14:10:24 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays SP David Price will start against the Minnesota Twins Monday, Aug. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) can be started with confidence in the majority of matchups, and expect the lefty to have a solid debut outing with the Jays Monday. Just note, the Twins have been scoring a lot of runs of late, which adds a degree of risk for FantasyScore players looking to spend up for Price.

Tigers | Tigers get Daniel Norris

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 10:02:17 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP David Price was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays Thursday, July 30, in exchange for Ps Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd and Jairo Labourt.

Fantasy Tip: With Price gone, Norris is the likely candidate to enter the Tigers' rotation. Norris, a left-hander, has intriguing stuff and went 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in five starts (23 1/3 innings) for the Blue Jays earlier this year. He should be immediately added in at least AL-only leagues to get the jump on your league mates if he indeed enters the Detroit rotation.

Blue Jays | David Price acquired by Toronto

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 09:42:45 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP David Price is involved in a deal the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to. SP Daniel Norris is part of the package headed to Detroit. The deal has been agreed upon, but it's unknown where the stage of the medicals are.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) may take a small hit with the move to the hitter's park in Toronto. However, he remains a surefire SP1 on FantasyScore.

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 08:45:10 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP David Price is expected to receive a late push from the San Francisco Giants to acquire him before the July 31 trade deadline.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) is a FantasyScore stud wherever he pitches.

Dodgers | David Price likely to Dodgers?

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 06:52:27 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP David Price is likely to land with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to some MLB executives who are absolutely convinced it will happen. The Dodgers will likely have to part with SP Julio Urias.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) is a FantasyScore stud, but a move to the NL would make him a monster.

Giants | Defending champs look at David Price

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 20:49:54 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP David Price is a potential trade target for the San Francisco Giants, one of four teams in contact with the Tigers. The other teams are the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) is a stud FantasyScore option, but moving to AT&T Park would give him a bump in value. According to MLB Park Factors, AT&T Park ranks 29th in the majors in runs scored, with the least amount of home runs yielded in the league.

Dodgers | LAD in contention for David Price

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 20:48:51 -0700

The Detroit Tigers continue to dangle SP David Price, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are one of four teams in contact. The other teams are the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants and Toronto Blue Jays.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) is a fantastic pitcher, and the difference between Comerica Park and Dodger Stadium is negligible in terms of MLB Park Factors. He would continue to be a strong FantasyScore option if traded to L.A.

Blue Jays | Talking to DET about David Price

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 19:09:27 -0700

The Toronto Blue Jays have spoken with the Detroit Tigers about acquiring SP David Price, sources said Wednesday, July 29.

Fantasy Tip: A move north of the border would be a move back to the American League East for Price. He is a tremendous pitcher, but playing with that kind of offensive support would be huge for FantasyScore purposes.

Yankees | David Price drawing interest from Yanks

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 14:57:58 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP David Price is now firmly on the trade block as the Tigers informed teams that they will be sellers at the deadline Wednesday, July 29. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs are also looking to upgrade their rotations and figure to be interested in Price. The Yankees have insisted that they won't give up OF Aaron Judge, 1B Greg Bird, SS Jorge Mateo or SP Luis Severino, though.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) will be a free agent after this year, so there's a very good chance he'll be dealt before Friday. A move to New York, or any other team, wouldn't drastically affect his fantasy value as a top-tier starter.

Rangers | Texas front-runners for Cole Hamels

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 14:05:12 -0700

Updating an ongoing story, Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels' trade destinations are lead by the Texas Rangers. The Los Angeles Dodgers prefer Detroit Tigers SP David Price because they feel they can re-sign him.

Fantasy Tip: In yearly formats, you'll want to see how everything shakes out before jumping to any conclusions. Hamels ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) receives a nice boost leaving Philadelphia, but it might not be enough of an upgrade to elevate him into consistent fantasy ace. Instead, view him as a strong No. 2 arm for your virtual rotation. Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) will remain a high-end fantasy starter, and he would receive a big boon to his fantasy stock moving to the National League and starting for a better team.
