|Royals | No. 2 spot in KC lineup up for grabs|
Sun, 31 Jan 2016 08:23:49 -0800
Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas and OF Alex Gordon are the two most likely candidates to bat second in the team's batting order this season, according to manager Ned Yost. The player that does not win the competition for the No. 2 spot will wind up batting sixth, behind OF Lorenzo Cain, 1B Eric Hosmer and DH Kendrys Morales.
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas hit .280 with 10 home runs and 40 RBIs in 408 at-bats as the No. 2 hitter in 2015, while Gordon hit .371 with one home run and seven RBIs in 35 at-bats in that spot. Don't be surprised if the left-handed-hitting Moustakas occupies the spot versus right-handers, while the right-handed-hitting Gordon does the same against southpaws. Both players make solid starting options in all fantasy formats.

|Royals | Mike Moustakas hopes for longer deal|
Sat, 30 Jan 2016 08:07:29 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas should be with the team for at least the 2016 season since he is scheduled to go through arbitration. Moustakas is coming off a season where he hit .284 with 22 home runs and 82 RBIs and should be a solid starting option in all mixed leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Moustakas had a career year in 2015, batting .284 with 22 home runs and 82 RBIs in 147 regular-season games while making his first All-Star team. He should be drafted in the early rounds of AL-only fantasy leagues and the middle rounds of mixed leagues.

|Mets | Matt Harvey has struggled against lefties|
Tue, 27 Oct 2015 11:49:04 -0700
New York Mets SP Matt Harvey has particularly liked to throw his fastball to left-handed hitters on the outside of the plate. He had a .676 OPS against lefties this year compared to .544 against righties, and 15 of the 18 home runs he allowed in 2015 were to lefty hitters. The Kansas City Royals are notoriously good fastball hitters, and their lefty hitters like fastballs away. 2B Ben Zobrist (.206/.372/.324), 1B Eric Hosmer (.379/.463/.707), 1B Kendrys Morales (.400/.494/.662), 3B Mike Moustakas (.300/.385/.500) and OF Alex Gordon (.340/.407/.698) all had success against right-handed fastballs away.
Fantasy Tip: Harvey is one of the better young fastball pitchers, but against the best fastball-hitting team in baseball this year, he'll need to effectively mix in his slider and changeup to keep them off balance and be successful, especially against the lefties. Harvey's high innings total after coming off Tommy John surgery will be a narrative in the World Series, as well.

|Royals | Kansas City resting regulars|
Fri, 25 Sep 2015 13:01:00 -0700
Kansas City Royals OFs Lorenzo Cain and Alex Gordon, 1Bs Eric Hosmer and Kendrys Morales, C Salvador Perez, 3B Mike Moustakas and SS Alcides Escobar are not in the starting lineup against the Cleveland Indians Friday, Sept. 25.
Fantasy Tip: After clinching the American League Central Division Thursday, Sept. 25, Ben Zobrist ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) and Alex Rios ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) are the only regulars in the lineup for Kansas City. FantasyScore players should view the entire lineup as risky starts at FantasyScore, including Zobrist and Rios. Additionally, Cleveland SP Carlos Carrasco ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) checks out as a high-end pitching option.

|Royals | Mike Moustakas reaches five times|
Thu, 24 Sep 2015 20:51:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) has been hit and miss this month, and 12 of his 17 RBI in September have come in two games. He isn't swinging a steady enough bat to pay for at FantasyScore right now.

|Royals | Mike Moustakas hits No. 20|
Sun, 20 Sep 2015 06:21:07 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It has been two years since Moustakas ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) reached the 20-bomb plateau, but at age 26, the former second overall pick is having a career season. His .279 batting average and .803 OPS are career-best marks, and he is currently tied with previous highs in home runs (20) and RBI (73). Moustakas carries a hefty FantasyScore salary, though, and he is best faded outside of prime matchups against right-handed hurlers.

Sat, 12 Sep 2015 17:55:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) is having a solid all-around season, but there are usually other players in the same price range at FantasyScore with more upside.

Sun, 06 Sep 2015 10:33:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) missed five games because of a hamstring injury but is back in the lineup. He is hitting .281 with 15 home runs this season and could be a solid starting option.

|Royals | Mike Moustakas sidelined for fifth day|
Sat, 05 Sep 2015 15:15:28 -0700
Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas (hamstring) is sidelined for the fifth day in a row Saturday, Sept. 5, due to hamstring issues. 3B Cheslor Cuthbert is again in the lineup, and he is hitting sixth against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana.
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) has felt better, but the lefty vs. lefty matchup allows the Royals another chance to sit Moustakas. Cuthbert ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) can be used as low-cost help in your lineup.
