Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters' (elbow) throwing program isn't going well, and surgery looks like an increasingly likely option, according to two sources. However, a third source said it's too early to make a determination on the surgical route, because Wieters is having both good and bad days in his throwing program.
Fantasy Tip: Don't jump to conclusions just yet if you own Wieters. It's unclear if Wieters would wait until the offseason to have the surgery if the Orioles could just use him as the DH for the rest of the year if his elbow doesn't interfere with his hitting. In any event, start making plans to possibly be without Wieters for the rest of the year.
