Sat, 29 Aug 2015 11:17:49 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward is back in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Ryan Vogelsong Saturday, Aug. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Heyward ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) is batting .304 over the past week and is 4-for-11 with a double and a home run in his career against Vogelsong, making him a solid FantasyScore option this afternoon.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward sitting out vs. Giants

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 15:58:49 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward is not in the starting lineup Friday, August 28. OF Brandon Moss draws into the lineup and is batting seventh against San Francisco Giants SP Mike Leake Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Heyward ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) in all fantasy formats Friday. He owns a .318/.392/.482 slash line with 14 runs, eight extra-base hits, 13 RBI and five stolen bases over his past 25 games. He was dealing with a hamstring injury last week, so it might just be an opportune time to rest him. Moss ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) hit his first home run with the Cardinals Thursday, Aug. 27, so perhaps it is the sign of things to come. He is a viable flier at FantasyScore Friday.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward starting now

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 16:34:21 -0700

Updating a previous report, St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward (hamstring) is in the starting lineup Friday, Aug. 21, after initially not being listed. He is starting in right field and hitting cleanup against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner. OF Brandon Moss comes out of the original lineup.

Fantasy Tip: The Cardinals wouldn't be putting Heyward ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) back into the lineup tonight if he wasn't healthy, so he's safe to return to starting lineups in all formats, including at FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward still absent

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 15:48:20 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Friday, Aug. 21. OF Tommy Pham is starting in center field and hitting seventh against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner.

Fantasy Tip: Heyward's injury isn't believed to be too serious, so he could return to the lineup sometime this weekend in San Diego. Pham ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has 20-20 potential over a full season despite his small stature. However, in daily leagues tonight hitting at the bottom of the order in a pitcher's park, he's not that attractive.

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward (hamstring) did not start for the second straight game Wednesday, Aug. 19, against the San Francisco Giants, but he was able to make a pinch-hitting appearance in the eighth inning.

Fantasy Tip: Heyward ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a game or two without any setbacks.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward injury update

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 13:07:01 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward (hamstring) underwent a series of exams Tuesday, Aug. 18, which revealed he is dealing with a cramping issue. "We're going to continue to go slow, but it is a good report from what we're getting," manager Mike Matheny said Tuesday. Heyward is not expected to require a stint on the disabled list, and the outfielder said he expects to be back against the San Diego Padres Friday, Aug. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Heyward ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 19, so seasonal owners will want to look for a filler until Friday. OF Tommy Pham ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is batting seventh against San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain Wednesday, and Pham should be viewed as nothing more than a low-priced flier for FantasyScore contests. Continue to check back for updates on Heyward.

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 18. OF Tommy Pham draws into the lineup and is starting in center field and batting eighth against San Francisco Giants SP Ryan Vogelsong Tuesday.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward leaves early

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 18:23:46 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward (hamstring) left the game Monday, Aug. 17, against the San Francisco Giants due to tightness in his left hamstring.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas Pham replaced Heyward in center field, as Randal Grichuk was placed on the 15-day disabled list. If Heyward joins Grichuk on the shelf there could be opportunities for Pham and some younger players to get meaningful at-bats at a cut-rate FantasyScore price.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward belts a pair

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 19:49:32 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored in a 6-4 loss to the Miami Marlins Sunday, Aug. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Outside of an ugly April, Heyward ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) has been solid most of the year. On the flip side, you can probably find a player in the same price range with more upside at FantasyScore most nights.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward on hitting streak

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 20:18:52 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward went 1-for-4 to push his hitting streak to seven games Tuesday, Aug. 4, against the Cincinnati Reds.

Fantasy Tip: Heyward ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is hitting .455 (10-for-22) during his impressive seven-game run, making him a decent mid-level FantasyScore option.
