Nationals | Bryce Harper, Ben Revere sitting

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 12:09:12 -0700

Washington Nationals OFs Bryce Harper and Ben Revere are not in the starting lineup against Cincinnati Reds left-handed SP Brandon Finnegan Thursday, June 30. OF Michael Taylor is starting in center field and leading off, while OF Chris Heisey starts in right and is batting seventh. C Wilson Ramos moves into the cleanup spot.

Fantasy Tip: Harper and Revere have a routine day off against a southpaw. Get them out of your starting lineups. Taylor has a good combination of power and speed that plays well in the leadoff spot, and he's surely attractive as a low-priced outfielder in DFS. Heisey is more of a low-end play. Ramos is having the best fantasy season for a catcher this year and should be fired up everywhere.

Nationals | Big night for Ben Revere

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 04:20:11 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Ben Revere had four hits and stole three bases Monday, June 27, in an 11-4 win over the New York Mets.

Fantasy Tip: This game was a big pick-me-up for Revere, whose batting average is nearly 90 points lower than last year's. Revere is in a platoon in the outfield, so he should not be started in seasonal leagues. Even DFS is a risk, because the odds are he won't repeat a performance like this.

Nationals | Ben Revere sitting second straight

Mon, 20 Jun 2016 16:18:35 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Ben Revere (rest) is not in the lineup for the second straight game Monday, June 20. OF Michael Taylor is once again starting in center field and batting leadoff opposite Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw.

Fantasy Tip: Just like Sunday, Revere will take a seat on the bench with a lefty on the hill, who also happens to be the most dominant pitcher in the game. Taylor had an outstanding game yesterday against the Padres, collecting four hits and two home runs, so he could be a sneaky value play in daily games for this evening. However, it's hard to recommend any hitter when they have to deal with Kershaw.

Nationals | Ben Revere has multi-hit game

Sat, 18 Jun 2016 22:53:55 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Ben Revere went 2-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts and a stolen bases Saturday, June 18, against the San Diego Padres.

Fantasy Tip: Revere has had a brutal season, but he is showing signs of life at the plate in the month of June. Since June 4 he is hitting .340 (16-for-47) with five stolen bases over the past 11 games to raise his average from .155 to .213. He isn't quite back as a must-start across all formats, but NL leaguers can trust him again. He has at least one steal in three straight, and five thefts in the past five games.

Nationals | Ben Revere resting vs. southpaw

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 15:38:38 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Ben Revere is not in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres left-handed SP Christian Friedrich Friday, June 17. OF Michael Taylor is starting in center field and is hitting leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: It's a typical day off for Revere against the lefty. Make sure he's not in your starting lineups. Taylor is hitting just .224 (35-for-156) this year but has an intriguing power-speed combination as evidenced by his four homers and seven steals. He makes for an excellent value pick in daily formats this evening.
