Nationals | Ben Revere returning Friday?

Thu, 05 May 2016 15:03:27 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Ben Revere (oblique) will go through a fullwork out before being activated from the disabled list, which should happen Friday, May 6, if all goes well.

Fantasy Tip: Revere warrants ownership in all formats because of his ability to contribute in runs, stolen bases and batting average, especially since he leads off for a solid offense. Michael Taylor projects to lose the most at-bats with Revere returning, but in deep mixed leagues, Taylor likely should be held onto until the playing time shakes itself out.

Nationals | Ben Revere back this weekend?

Tue, 03 May 2016 17:01:51 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Ben Revere (oblique) is playing for Class AAA Syracuse for the third straight day as part of his rehab assignment Tuesday, May 3. Revere hasn't had any setbacks but still needs to play a full nine innings in the minors before he's activated from the disabled list. Washington is hopeful that Revere can rejoin them during the weekend series with the Chicago Cubs.

Fantasy Tip: Revere should be stashed on all fantasy rosters for his ability to contribute nicely in average, runs and stolen bases atop a potent Washington lineup. Michael Taylor's short-term utility in most leagues as a power-speed asset is coming to an end shortly.

Nationals | Ben Revere doing baseball activities

Wed, 20 Apr 2016 15:37:37 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Ben Revere (oblique) has started running and taking light swings, his first baseball activities since he strained his right oblique on opening day. Revere said he felt good after working out Wednesday, April 20. He's initially swinging right-handed because doctors think it's safer to take swings from the side his oblique strain is on. Revere hopes to hit off a tee in a few days.

Fantasy Tip: It's progress for Revere, but the Nats are playing it safe with him early in the season, and he could be out for another couple of weeks. Nationals | Ben Revere has no timetable

Fri, 15 Apr 2016 16:09:54 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Ben Revere (oblique) has no timetable for a return despite making the road trip with the Nationals this weekend, according to manager Dusty Baker.

Fantasy Tip: Oblique injuries are tricky for all players, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Nats err on the side of caution with Revere so early in the season. He'll have plenty of value hitting atop a dangerous Washington lineup, so keep him stashed everywhere, mainly for his speed and run-scoring opportunities. Michael Taylor will continue to hit leadoff and play center, and his power-speed combination should play well in the short term everywhere.
