Marlins | Derek Dietrich has a seat

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 07:16:33 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Derek Dietrich is out of the lineup Wednesday, Sept. 2, for the second straight day.

Fantasy Tip: Christian Yelich ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) came back and is manning left field every day, which pushed Dietrich to the bench. Yelich is hitting second against Williams Perez and is a good start on FantasyScore.

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 09:20:09 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg Sunday, Aug. 30. OF Derek Dietrich will start in left field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Yelich ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is still sidelined with his knee injury and no timetable has been announced. Dietrich ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has four hits in his last eight games and may not be the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Christian Yelich to miss another game

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 14:19:13 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann Saturday, Aug. 29. OF Derek Dietrich will start in left field and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Yelich ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been sidelined for the last few days because of a knee injury, so owners should look for a possible timetable. Dietrich ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is hitting .263 with three home runs and 14 RBI this month and could be an option on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Christian Yelich sitting vs. Pirates

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 12:58:32 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 27. OF Derek Dietrich is starting in left field and batting sixth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Yelich ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) in all formats Thursday. He has turned his season around and has a .303/.337/.404 slash line over 25 games since the All-Star break, but his counting stats are nothing to write home about (six runs, a home run, 10 RBI and six stolen bases). Dietrich ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) draws an unfavorable matchup, and he costs a pretty penny at FantasyScore. So, while he has been playing well of late, you should be able to find better value in his price range.

Marlins | Cole Gillespie draws into lineup

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 13:55:25 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Cole Gillespie is starting in left field and hitting sixth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerad Eickhoff Friday, Aug. 21. 3B Derek Dietrich will start on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Gillespie ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has really excelled with the Fish with consistent playing time because of injuries to Miami's outfield. Against lefties, he has a triple slash line of .429/.469/.536 and a 1.004 OPS. He's a great choice on FantasyScore at a price you can't pass up as a value pick.

Marlins | Derek Dietrich playing left field

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 11:05:27 -0700

Miami Marlins INF/OF Derek Dietrich will bat third and play left field against St. Louis Cardinals SP Carlos Martinez Sunday, Aug. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Dietrich ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is only batting .209 in 67 at-bats since the All-Star break and is hitless in three career at-bats versus Martinez. He is not a great FantasyScore option this afternoon.

Marlins | Derek Dietrich sitting

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 15:28:57 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Derek Dietrich is out of the lineup Saturday, Aug. 15, with 3B Martin Prado hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) isn't your prototypical third hitter, and John Lackey is tough at home. Prado is hitting .244 this month and isn't a solid FantasyScore start.

Miami Marlins 3B Derek Dietrich is not in the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 9, against the Atlanta Braves. OF Christian Yelich is in left field, OF Cole Gillespie is in center and OF Ichiro Suzuki is in right.

Fantasy Tip: Dietrich ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has not had much success against Atlanta pitching this season with a .111 batting average. It appears to be a normal day off, as Dietrich has a .257 mark and six homers against right-handed pitching.

Miami Marlins OF Cole Gillespie is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann Tuesday, July 28. 3B Derek Dietrich will start in left field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Gillespie ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the near future. Dietrich ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is hitting .342 with two home runs and two RBI this month and could be a starting option on FantasyScore.
