Braves | ATL had interest in Jonathan Lucroy

Sat, 23 May 2015 11:32:02 -0700

The Atlanta Braves expressed interest in trading for Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) recently but were told that he is untouchable.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap), who is widely considered to be one of the best catchers in baseball, is expected to return from the disabled list in a few weeks. Christian Bethancourt ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been a disappointment both offensively and defensively, leading to A.J. Pierzynski ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) receiving the bulk of the playing time behind the plate in Atlanta.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy cleared to catch

Fri, 15 May 2015 13:47:39 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) received clearance to start catching bullpen sessions Friday, May 15. Lucroy has not started running at this point, and there is no definite timetable for his return.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) appears to be making progress in his rehab from a toe injury, but he may be a few weeks away from returning. Martin Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) should continue to receive most of the starts at catcher but is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy progressing

Tue, 05 May 2015 15:08:00 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) has good reports on his broken toe, and he is hoping to come back on the early end of his four- to six-week timetable.

Fantasy Tip: Continue to be patient with Lucroy and keep him stashed in a DL spot in all fantasy baseball leagues. Martin Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) will continue to serve as the team's primary catcher in the meantime. Maldonado is a low-end catching commodity for daily gamers.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy out 4-6 weeks?

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 16:07:27 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) will have an initial timetable of four-to-six weeks to recover from his broken toe, according to manager Ron Roenicke, Tuesday, April 21. C Martin Maldonado is next up on the depth chart and will see plenty of playing time.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a career .222 hitter, but has 16 home runs in just 537 career plate appearances. Maldonado will be an option for Lucroy owners looking for some extra power and have the availability to take a hit to their batting average. Lucroy needs to be stashed whether or not owners have an available spot on their disabled list.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy headed for DL

Mon, 20 Apr 2015 19:24:28 -0700

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) has a fractured toe on his left foot and he will be placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, April 21. The team is expected to recall C Juan Centeno from Triple-A Colorado Springs to serve as the backup to C Martin Maldonado.

Fantasy Tip: Itís uncertain how much time Lucroy will miss. However, Maldonado ($1,600; 3.2% of cap) is likely to be the regular receiver until Lucroy is able to return. At such a small price he is a great addition in the coming days.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy off to slow start

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 16:51:36 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy enters the game Wednesday, April 15, hitting just .087 (2-for-23) with no home runs or RBI after hitting .435 with five home runs, 11 RBI, a .480 on-base percentage and .826 slugging percentage in 15 spring training games. Lucroy is frustrated but isn't too worried, and said he figured out what he can change by watching video. Manager Ron Roenicke is not worried about Lucroy and hasn't seen any signs of panic.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) remains one of the best hitting catchers in the game today, so he should be fine in the long run. Despite his early-season slump, he remains one of the safest catching options at FantasyScore.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy not playing

Sun, 12 Apr 2015 09:25:28 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is not in the starting lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday, April 12.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has started the season 1-for-20 at the plate, so he is receiving a day off Sunday. Lucroy is still one of the better options at catcher on FantasyScore and should be an starting option when he plays.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy makes spring debut

Sat, 14 Mar 2015 19:55:28 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (hamstring) made his spring debut Saturday, March 14, and said he had no problems with the hamstring injury that he had been dealing with.

Fantasy Tip: As long as he doesn't experience any setbacks, Lucroy should be ready to roll for the regular season. He established himself as one of the best all-around hitting catchers last year and should be one of the first few catchers drafted in all fantasy formats.
