Sat, 18 Jun 2016 22:57:26 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy went 1-for-3 with a double, walk and RBI Saturday, June 18, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has hit safely in eight straight games.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy has his average up to .312, looking good for contenders who might be interested in trading for the backstop before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. Whether he stays in Cream City or moves to a contender, Lucroy remains a must-start fantasy option across the board in all formats.

Brewers | Ryan Braun, Jonathan Lucroy not being shopped

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 16:24:02 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun and C Jonathan Lucroy are not being shopped in trades, according to owner Mark Attanasio. Lucroy leads the Brewers with a .310 batting average and Braun is hitting .306. "Much ado about nothing so far," Attanasio said about speculation that Braun or Lucroy, or both, would be traded before the Aug. 1 deadline.

Fantasy Tip: This could just be misdirection from the Brewers brass. Lucroy is a an elite fantasy catcher and would only gain value if he's dealt to a contending team. Braun has injury concerns but has played at a high level as a solid No. 1 fantasy outfielder. He, too, would benefit from a move out of Milwaukee.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy in for big night?

Mon, 13 Jun 2016 15:49:32 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is batting .381 with a home run and four RBI in the last five years in 21 at-bats against San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain, who starts against the Brewers Monday, June 13.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy is an elite fantasy catcher with his .303/.362/.512 slash line and nine home runs and 29 RBI. He should be started every day in traditional leagues, and he's certainly worth paying up for tonight in daily formats because of his history against Cain, who is fresh off the DL.

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 11:09:16 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy will not start against New York Mets SP Logan Verrett Saturday, June 11. C Martin Maldonado will play behind the plate and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado is just 4-for-37 at the plate and is not a recommended fantasy option today. DFS players looking for salary cap relief should be able to find plenty of low-priced catchers who have performed better this year.

OF Ramon Flores will start in right field and is batting sixth. OF Keon Broxton will start in center field and is batting seventh, while C Martin Maldonado will start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy drills ninth HR

Tue, 31 May 2016 21:09:01 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy went 2-for-3 with his ninth home run of the season Tuesday, May 31, versus the St. Louis Cardinals. He also had a double, scored a run and drove in two.

Fantasy Tip: Remarkably, all nine of the veteran's homers have come in the month of May, so he's apparently feeling real comfortable right now. He's been a very solid source of production thus far, proving he's still one of the more reliable fantasy backstops in the National League.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy having great series

Sun, 29 May 2016 13:31:47 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is 6-for-11 with nine RBIs in the current series against the Cincinnati Reds.

Fantasy Tip: Yes, this year's Reds have a tendency to make anyone look good. However, Lucroy is one of the National League's top catchers and merits play in both DFS and regular leagues. He's starting to catch fire (.272-8-17 in May alone) and should have a hot summer behind the plate.
