Fantasy Tip: Parrino will be recalled to make up for the loss of Jed Lowrie (finger). Parrino can fill in at the middle infield positions. It's unclear how much he might play, and he could just be depth on the infield. Consider him only in AL-only formats.

Rangers | Tanner Scheppers to DL

Fri, 18 Apr 2014 12:59:36 -0700

The Texas Rangers are putting SP Tanner Scheppers (elbow, forearm) on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right elbow and forearm Friday, April 18, and recalled P Aaron Poreda from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. Also, INF Andy Parrino was designated for assignment. Scheppers will not throw for 10 days. SP Nick Martinez is likely to start against the Oakland Athletics Tuesday, April 22.

Fantasy Tip: Martinez has an average fastball and relies on control instead of overpowering hitters. He has improved his secondary offerings, as well. Nothing flashy here, but he could be a nice pickup in AL-only leagues.
