Phillies | Darin Ruf not in lineup

Mon, 02 May 2016 15:08:19 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Darin Ruf (rest) is not in the lineup Monday, May 2. OF David Lough is in left field instead and batting seventh versus St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright.

Fantasy Tip: Ruf had actually been getting more at-bats lately against right-handed pitching, but that won't be the case here. Lough draws the start, and although he'd be considered a dart throw by most in daily leagues, he is out to a fine start, having registered a .310/.364/.379 line through 10 games. His ceiling is limited, however.

Phillies | David Lough sitting out

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 09:45:49 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF David Lough is not in the starting lineup against Milwaukee Brewers SP Wily Peralta Sunday, April 24. 2B Emmanuel Burriss will start in left field and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Burriss has only one hit in 15 at-bats this season and is not a strong starting candidate in any league.

Phillies | Peter Bourjos sitting out

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 13:31:23 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Peter Bourjos is not in the starting lineup Friday, April 22. OF Darin Ruf is starting in left field and hitting seventh against Milwaukee Brewers SP Zach Davies, while OF David Lough shifts over to right field.

Fantasy Tip: Ruf has dealt with a nagging injury this year and only has 18 at-bats (two hits) this year. Davies isn't an overpowering pitcher, and Ruf could do damage, but he's a risky deep sleeper in daily formats tonight.

Phillies | David Lough with first start

Mon, 18 Apr 2016 12:39:45 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF David Lough is starting in left field and is hitting sixth against New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard Monday, April 18.

Fantasy Tip: Lough was called up from the minors Monday and should see the majority of starts in left field alongside Tyler Goeddel. However, Lough is a light hitter and is only attractive for depth in deep AL-only leagues. Avoid Lough as a cheap flyer in daily contests against Thor, too.

Phillies | David Lough up, Cedric Hunter down

Mon, 18 Apr 2016 11:53:47 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF David Lough was recalled from the minors Monday, April 18, and OF Cedric Hunter was optioned in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: With Hunter now in the minors, Lough will likely see most of the playing time in left field for the Phils while splitting time with Tyler Goeddel. Lough hit just .201 (27-for-134) with four home runs and 12 RBI for the Baltimore Orioles last year and is only a depth option for those in deeper NL leagues.

Phillies | Philly has several LF options

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 08:55:03 -0800

Philadelphia Phillies OFs Cody Asche, Darnell Sweeney, Tyler Goeddel, Cedric Hunter and David Lough are all possibilities to play left field with OF Aaron Altherr (wrist) out four to six months.

Fantasy Tip: Asche has the most experience after hitting 12 home runs in 425 at-bats last year for Philly. His second half shows his power can play, but he won't help much in average and doesn't do anything else particularly well. Keep your expectations tempered as mainly an NL-only weapon.

Orioles | Adam Jones still not playing

Wed, 30 Sep 2015 10:22:07 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones (back) remains out of the lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday, Sept. 30. OF David Lough is starting in center field and is hitting ninth against Blue Jays SP Marcus Stroman.

Fantasy Tip: Lough ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) shouldn't be an option for FantasyScore users today. Look elsewhere.

Orioles | David Lough playing left field

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 11:44:46 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF David Lough will bat ninth and play left field against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Jered Weaver Sunday, Aug. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Lough ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is 2-for-4 against Weaver in his career but is batting just .213 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in 74 games this season. He should be ignored in FantasyScore unless you're in need of salary cap relief.

Orioles | Nolan Reimold receives start

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 13:07:34 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Nolan Reimold will start in left field against Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood Monday, July 27, and is batting first in the lineup. OF David Lough is not in the lineup Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Reimold ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) went 3-for-3 with two RBI in his last game and is hitting .250 this month but has not recorded any other RBI during that span. Reimold could be a cheaper option for owners looking to spend money at other positions but there likely are better options on FantasyScore.

Orioles | David Lough leading off again

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 07:58:05 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF David Lough is playing left field and leading off against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore Sunday, July 26.

Fantasy Tip: Lough ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) doesn't instill a lot of confidence with a .230/.269/.363 slash line. However, setting the table against a struggling Moore () bumps his value up. Lough stands as an upside source of cap relief for FantasyScore players Sunday.
