Phillies | Cody Asche activated for full-time work

Thu, 02 Jun 2016 11:18:31 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B/OF Cody Asche (oblique) was activated from the disabled list Thursday, June 2, and is expected to receive full-time at-bats going forward. In a corresponding move, OF David Lough was designated for assignment.

Fantasy Tip: Asche has missed the first two months of the season, and the once-promising prospect has an underwhelming .246/.301/.392 slash line through his first three years in the league. He is a low-end option in the majority of seasonal leagues and should be left to cavernous mixed and NL-only formats at this point.

Phillies | Peter Bourjos sitting vs. Washington

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 14:47:43 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Peter Bourjos is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 1. OF David Lough is starting in right field and batting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos sits with a .199/.231/.291 slash line through 151 plate appearances this season, and he is likely to receive less playing time going forward with Philadelphia looking to the future. Lough could be the beneficiary, but Wednesday, he is an ill-advised fantasy option facing Scherzer.

Phillies | Peter Bourjos not in Tuesday lineup

Tue, 31 May 2016 13:03:18 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Peter Bourjos is out of the lineup Tuesday, May 31, against the Washington Nationals. OF David Lough replaces Bourjos, and he will hit seventh against Nationals SP Joe Ross.

Fantasy Tip: This is merely a night off for Bourjos, a light hitter who does well on defense. Lough does hit .321 (9-for-28) at Citizens Bank Park, but there are better options for putting in your daily fantasy lineup.

Phillies | Tyler Goeddel not in the lineup

Sat, 28 May 2016 07:55:23 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Tyler Goeddel is not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks Saturday, May 28. OF David Lough will start in left field and is hitting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Lough has only two hits and one RBI over his last eight games and probably can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Phillies | Cesar Hernandez out of lineup Saturday

Sat, 21 May 2016 10:14:31 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies INF Andres Blanco will bat third and start at second base against SP Williams Perez Saturday, May 21, with 2B Cesar Hernandez receiving the day off. In addition, C Carlos Ruiz will start behind the plate and bat sixth, while OF David Lough will play right field and bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco and Ruiz have both been productive in limited playing time and are worth considering as value plays in daily fantasy contests. However, Lough has struggled at the plate and should be viewed as nothing more than desperation cap relief.

Phillies | Odubel Herrera out of the lineup

Wed, 18 May 2016 07:31:48 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Odubel Herrera is out of the lineup Wednesday, May 18, with OF David Lough leading off.

Fantasy Tip: Lough is hitting a meager .235 without much to show for it in counting stats. He's not a very good option against Tom Koehler.

Phillies | Cameron Rupp, Peter Bourjos out

Sun, 15 May 2016 08:22:23 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies C Cameron Rupp and OF Peter Bourjos are not in the starting lineup against Cincinnati Reds SP Dan Straily Sunday, May 15. C Carlos Ruiz will start behind the plate and bat fifth, while OF David Lough will play right field and bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Ruiz is batting .291 with three home runs and six RBI in just 55 at-bats and makes an excellent value play in DFS this afternoon. Lough has limited upside and does not offer much more than salary cap relief.

Phillies | Darin Ruf not in lineup

Mon, 02 May 2016 15:08:19 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Darin Ruf (rest) is not in the lineup Monday, May 2. OF David Lough is in left field instead and batting seventh versus St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright.

Fantasy Tip: Ruf had actually been getting more at-bats lately against right-handed pitching, but that won't be the case here. Lough draws the start, and although he'd be considered a dart throw by most in daily leagues, he is out to a fine start, having registered a .310/.364/.379 line through 10 games. His ceiling is limited, however.

Phillies | David Lough sitting out

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 09:45:49 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF David Lough is not in the starting lineup against Milwaukee Brewers SP Wily Peralta Sunday, April 24. 2B Emmanuel Burriss will start in left field and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Burriss has only one hit in 15 at-bats this season and is not a strong starting candidate in any league.

Phillies | Peter Bourjos sitting out

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 13:31:23 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Peter Bourjos is not in the starting lineup Friday, April 22. OF Darin Ruf is starting in left field and hitting seventh against Milwaukee Brewers SP Zach Davies, while OF David Lough shifts over to right field.

Fantasy Tip: Ruf has dealt with a nagging injury this year and only has 18 at-bats (two hits) this year. Davies isn't an overpowering pitcher, and Ruf could do damage, but he's a risky deep sleeper in daily formats tonight.
