Rockies | DJ LeMahieu resting up

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 16:58:34 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday, Sept. 1. 2B Daniel Descalso is starting at second base and is hitting seventh against Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa.

Fantasy Tip: Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is purely a desperation deep sleeper on FantasyScore as a source of salary cap relief. He's hitting only .216 (32-for-148) with four home runs and 20 RBI on the year.

Rockies | Jose Reyes out of the lineup

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 08:13:19 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes is not in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Charlie Morton Sunday, Aug. 30. 2B Daniel Descalso will start at shortstop and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the next game or two. Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting .215 this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Rockies | Nolan Arenado taking day off

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 14:26:36 -0700

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 26. 2B DJ LeMahieu moves into the cleanup spot, while 2B Daniel Descalso is starting at third base and batting seventh against Atlanta Braves SP Shelby Miller.

Fantasy Tip: All LeMahieu ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has done is continue to hit this year, so continue to ride him on FantasyScore. However, Miller has been very solid all season long despite his record. Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a weak daily pick with his .207 average (29-for-140) and four homers on the season.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu not playing

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 15:10:41 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 20. 2B Daniel Descalso is starting at second base and hitting seventh against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer.

Fantasy Tip: Even though Scherzer has been very hittable of late, Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) doesn't hit much, period. You should look elsewhere for your second baseman on FantasyScore.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu out of the lineup

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 08:08:01 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Sunday, Aug. 9. 2B Daniel Descalso will start at second base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and will return to the lineup soon. Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore because of the tough matchup.

Rockies | Jose Reyes out of lineup

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 14:35:52 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes isn't in the starting lineup Saturday, Aug. 1, against the St. Louis Cardinals. 2B Daniel Descalso will start at shortstop and hit eighth in the lineup against RHP Lance Lynn, while 2B DJ LeMahieu will start at second base and hit second in the order.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has had at least one hit in all but one game since July 3. He doesn't have a home run in that span, but he has hit five doubles, and he has 11 multi-hit games. LeMahieu will continue to be a strong FantasyScore option.

Rockies | Daniel Descalso fills in nicely

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 21:35:40 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Daniel Descalso started at shortstop Tuesday, July 28, against the Chicago Cubs, filling after SS Troy Tulowitzki was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. Descalso finished 1-for-3 with a double, walk and an RBI.

Fantasy Tip: Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) homered Monday and had an RBI Tuesday, but with Jose Reyes expected to make his debut Wednesday the light-hitting middle infielder is likely headed back to the bench. If Descalso does draw another start, however, he is worth using in FantasyScore since it doesn't take much to exceed salary expectations.

Rockies | Daniel Descalso receives start

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:14:40 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Daniel Descalso will start at shortstop against Chicago Cubs SP Dallas Beeler Tuesday, July 28, and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) likely will stay at shortstop until Jose Reyes joins the team. Descalso has not done much at the plate this season and should not be a starting option on FantasyScore.

Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki sitting vs. Braves

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 15:40:46 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 10. 2B Daniel Descalso is starting at shortstop and batting seventh against Atlanta Braves SP Shelby Miller Friday.

Fantasy Tip: At this point, it appears to be a routine night off for Tulowitzki ($5,400, 10.8% of cap). It wouldn't hurt to check back for an official update, though. FantasyScore players should view Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) as a low-end source of cap relief Friday and should likely aim higher.
