Royals | Danny Duffy stays hot

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 17:52:47 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy allowed one run on six hits over eight innings in a win over the Chicago White Sox Sunday, July 19, and he has a 1.33 ERA in three starts in July.

Fantasy Tip: There is no reason to expect Duffy ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) to maintain this pace, but he is pitching well enough right now to consider using as a high-risk, high-reward option at FantasyScore in his next start Friday, July 24, against the Houston Astros.

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 13:36:14 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy (biceps) will return from the disabled list Wednesday, June 24, to face the Seattle Mariners.

Fantasy Tip: Duffy ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has lights-out stuff when he's right, but we'd lean towards giving him a start before using him on FantasyScore.

Royals | Danny Duffy to make rehab start

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 18:01:22 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy (biceps) will throw 65 pitches in a minor-league rehab start with Class AAA Omaha Wednesday, June 17. His start was rained out Sunday, June 14.

Fantasy Tip: Duffy is likely to return before the end of the month, but FantasyScore players will want to see him officially return and pitch without any lingering effects of the injury before trusting him again.

Royals | Danny Duffy gradually progressing

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 16:03:25 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy (biceps) had a schedule mapped out by manager Ned Yost to have him throw 100 pitches during his fourth rehab start Wednesday, June 24.

Fantasy Tip: Duffy ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) struggled through his first eight starts this season, and he'll be a risky option in all formats unless he morphs back to the lucky pitcher who posted a 2.53 ERA with a 3.83 FIP through 31 starts last season. Duffy is only worth stashing in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues, and until he proves himself on the hill, there is no reason to start him in FantasyScore contests.

Royals | Danny Duffy nearing rotation

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 08:24:47 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy (shoulder) will throw 50 pitches for Class AAA Omaha Tuesday, June 9. Manager Ned Yost said the Royals will make a spot in the rotation for Duffy upon his return to the majors.

Fantasy Tip: Duffy ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is a risky play on FantasyScore due to his regularly high walk totals. Owners will need to give him a few starts before investing for good matchups.

Royals | Danny Duffy close to rehab assignment

Thu, 04 Jun 2015 16:26:55 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy (shoulder) will throw another side session this weekend and could go on a minor league rehab assignment after that, according to manager Ned Yost.

Fantasy Tip: Duffy ($3,700, 7.4% of cap), who should have a rotation spot waiting for him when he returns from the DL despite a 5.87 ERA in eight starts this year, should be stashed away in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.

Royals | Danny Duffy to be placed on DL

Mon, 25 May 2015 07:11:36 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy (shoulder) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list because of his shoulder injury.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see how long Duffy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) will be out of the rotation. Jason Vargas ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) will be activated from the disabled list and likely will take Duffy's spot in the rotation. Vargas is scheduled to pitch against the New York Yankees and may be a risky option on FantasyScore.

Royals | Danny Duffy to be skipped

Fri, 22 May 2015 14:01:17 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy's (shoulder) spot in the rotation will be skipped because of shoulder stiffness. He is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday, May 26. SP Edinson Volquez is now scheduled to start Saturday, May 23, while SP Yordano Ventura will start Sunday, May 24.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should look for any updates on Duffy's ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) status over the next few days. Volquez ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) and Ventura ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) are both scheduled to face the St. Louis Cardinals this weekend and could be risky option on FantasyScore against a solid offense.
