Fri, 22 Jul 2016 20:16:47 -0700

Atlanta Braves SP Julio Teheran (undisclosed) walked exited his start against the Colorado Rockies with a trainer Friday, July 22.

Braves | Julio Teheran's hard luck continues

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 15:07:44 -0700

Atlanta Brsves SP Julio Teheran scattered three hits, walked one and struck out five Sunday, July 17, in a win over the Colorado Rockies. However, he did not get the decision. Teheran remained winless with a 2.90 ERA in 11 home starts.

Fantasy Tip: And there you have it. Teheran's numbers are strong enough to merit starting at home and on the road, but all of Teheran's winning luck has come on the road. Teheran's 3-8 record suggests a pitcher where you shouldn't bother, but his ERA (2.96) and walk/strikeout ratio (25/107) are fairly strong.

Braves | Atlanta sets post-break rotation

Wed, 13 Jul 2016 12:27:56 -0700

Atlanta Braves SPs Lucas Harrell, Mike Foltynewicz and Julio Teheran will face the Colorado Rockies Friday, July 15, Saturday, July 16, and Sunday, July 17, accordingly.

Fantasy Tip: Luckily, the series is at Turner Field and not Coors Field, so Teheran is a viable option in all fantasy formats after a strong fist half (2.98 ERA and 8.1 K/9). Harrell has allowed just two runs through 13 2/3 innings over his two starts and could be a streaming option in deep leagues and a low-priced flier in daily contests. Similarly, Foltynewicz owns a 3.67 ERA over his nine starts and is a potential own in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues.

Braves | Julio Teheran not available in trade

Tue, 12 Jul 2016 13:11:36 -0700

Atlanta Braves SP Julio Teheran is not a player the Braves are looking to trade this season, according to general manager John Coppolella.

Fantasy Tip: Teheran recorded a solid 2.97 ERA in the first half of the season but has a 3-8 record during that span. He likely will not have a lot of wins if he remains with the Braves but should still be a starting option because of his ERA and strikeout totals.

Braves | Julio Teheran roughed up again

Sat, 09 Jul 2016 14:22:06 -0700

Atlanta Braves SP Julio Teheran turned in one of his worst starts in an otherwise sparkling first half of the season Saturday, July 9, in a loss to the Chicago White Sox, surrendering five runs on nine hits while striking out a season-low two across six innings.

Fantasy Tip: Even if the Braves have no interest in dealing him, Teheran has been widely discussed as a potential hot name on the trade market. However, his first two outings in July (0-1, 7.11 ERA) aren't helping matters in that regard. Still, despite a 3-9 record and rough start to the month, Teheran was rightfully named an All-Star and will carry an impressive 2.96 ERA into the second half of the season.

Red Sox | Boston interested in Julio Teheran

Sat, 09 Jul 2016 09:28:29 -0700

Atlanta Braves SP Julio Teheran has been scouted recently by Boston Red Sox senior vice president of baseball operations Frank Wren.

Fantasy Tip: Teheran is just 3-7 but has posted a 2.72 ERA through 17 starts this year, with 24 walks and 105 strikeouts through 112 1/3 innings. Although a move to the hitter-friendly AL East would be detrimental to most of his stats, he would likely see an increase in victories due to receiving some much-needed run support. However, the Braves claimed earlier this month that Teheran is unlikely to be moved this summer.

Braves | Julio Teheran able to start Saturday

Thu, 07 Jul 2016 15:15:45 -0700

Atlanta Braves SP Julio Teheran (thigh) said he'll be ready to start Saturday, July 9, against the Chicago White Sox.

Fantasy Tip: Teheran's been having an excellent year for Atlanta, hence why he made the All-Star team, but owners may want to use some caution here. Not only was his last turn in the rotation skipped, which could make him rusty for this weekend's assignment, but he's also coming off one of his worst efforts of the year his last time out. In addition, it's no easy task taking on the slugging White Sox on the road. Teheran's peak this year is probably already in the rearview.

Braves | Julio Teheran will be skipped Wednesday

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 13:13:02 -0700

Atlanta Braves SP Julio Teheran (thigh) will not pitch against the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday, July 6. He did not travel with the team and remained in Atlanta to have an infection in his right thigh treated. The organization hopes he is able to make his start against the Chicago White Sox this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Aside from sitting with just three wins this season, Teheran has been an excellent contributor in the other standard categories with a 2.72 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and 105 strikeouts through 112 2/3 innings. Stay tuned for updates on his status leading into the weekend.
