Royals | Kendrys Morales leads AL in RBIs

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 22:31:35 -0700

Kansas City Royals 1B Kendrys Morales went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs Monday, July 27, against the Cleveland Indians. He now leads the American League with 68, tied with Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson.

Fantasy Tip: It's been quite the comeback for Morales ($4,100, 8.2% of cap), who has re-emerged as a must-start in FantasyScore. He has 11 RBIs against the Indians this season.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson returns with a bang

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 19:32:03 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and two walks in a 6-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, July 17.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) was battling the flu prior to the All-Star break, but the extended time off seems to have done the trick. He should continue to be one of the top options at FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson rising up

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 21:07:04 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays All-Star 3B Josh Donaldson has exceeded expectations for the team this season, and he has a 4.7 WAR, according to Fangraphs, which ranks 10th-best in franchise history through 89 games.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($6,000; or 12.0% of cap) has managed a solid .293 average with 21 homers and 60 RBIs in 355 at-bats through the first half. He has been a tremendous FantasyScore option more often than not, turning in an impressive .884 OPS, which is well above his career average of .820.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson not in the lineup

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 09:10:22 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Sunday, July 12. OF Danny Valencia will start at third base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) probably is receiving a day off before the break. Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is only hitting .207 this month but also has two home runs and four RBI during that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider Valencia as an option if they are looking for a cheaper option.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson leaves game

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 17:13:58 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson (illness) left in the sixth inning against the Kansas City Royals with flu-like symptoms Saturday, July 11. He was replaced by OF Danny Valencia.

Fantasy Tip: Since it seems like Donaldson ($6,000, 12.0%) started to feel worse during the game, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the illness carry over into Sunday's game. Valencia ($2,600, 5.2%) hit a three-run homer after replacing Donaldson, and he could make a nice source of cap relief at FantasyScore if he replaces Donaldson again.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson has another big day

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 16:42:29 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson went 3-for-5 with two runs, a double, a home run and two RBI during the Blue Jays' 11-2 win over the Boston Red Sox Wednesday, July 1.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) had a .200/.278/.308 slash line over his past 16 games with a single home run and four RBI, so the big stat line is a nice bounce back for seasonal owners. In favorable matchups, and especially against southpaws, Donaldson is an excellent FantasyScore target.

Blue Jays | Russell Martin not in lineup Tuesday

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 12:46:34 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays C Russell Martin is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 30, against the Boston Red Sox. C Dioner Navarro is batting seventh. In addition, 3B Josh Donaldson is at designated hitter and 3B Danny Valencia is at third base.

Fantasy Tip: The lineup switches are in part because Martin ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) gets a night off after playing the entire week at catcher. Navarro ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is 3-for-15 in the last seven days and isn't really worth picking up at the moment. Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has lost a significant chunk of playing time and has little fantasy value.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson has horrible night

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 19:21:27 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson was hitless in four at-bats with three strikeouts Tuesday, June 23, against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Fantasy Tip: Since June 12 Donaldson's average has dipped from .322 to .298, as he is 6-for-40 with no homers and just one RBI in the past 10 games. FantasyScore players won't want to use him at a lofty salary of $6,000 (or 12.0% of cap).

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson sitting vs. Rays

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 12:46:15 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 22. OF Danny Valencia is starting at third and batting seventh against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Andriese Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Donaldson in all fantasy formats Monday. He is having a banner season with a league-leading 54 runs. Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) typically does his best work against southpaws (.929 OPS this season), so he is more of a low-priced flier than anything for FantasyScore players Monday. Still, Valencia has an excellent .575 slugging percentage against righties this season.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson will be DH

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 13:37:11 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson will serve as the designated hitter against New York Mets SP Jon Niese Wednesday, June 17, and is batting second in the lineup. OF Danny Valencia will start at third base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is hitting .283 this month with two home runs and six RBI during that span. Donaldson is a solid starting option for owners on FantasyScore. Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has played well in June with a .333 batting average with five RBI. He could be a cheaper option for owners to consider.
