Detroit Tigers RP Luke Putkonen (shoulder) was in the clubhouse Monday, June 16, after undergoing surgery last week to remove a bone spur from his left elbow. His left arm was in a protective wrap, which he said is expected to be removed Tuesday, June 17.

Detroit Tigers RP Bruce Rondon (elbow) will need Tommy John surgery on his right elbow and will miss the entire 2014 season, according to general manager Dave Dombrowski. Rondon was a candidate to be the team's eighth-inning setup man this season. The Tigers have other candidates to fill Rondon's spot, like RPs Joba Chamberlain, Al Alburquerque, Ian Krol, Evan Reed, Luke Putkonen and Phil Coke, but the team isn't locked in to any one guy.
