Updating a previous report, Texas Rangers SS Elvis Andrus (elbow) had a lengthy and productive session with manager Ron Washington Tuesday, March 25. He is in the middle of a seven-day throwing program, working on throws from around second base. The next step in his program might be making throws from the shortstop position. If that goes well, he might play in exhibition games either Friday, March 28, or Saturday, March 29, in San Antonio against the Houston Astros.
Fantasy Tip: Things are looking a little more positive for Andrus to be ready for the start of the regular season without needing a stint on the 15-day disabled list. Monitor his start over the weekend. If he plays without any setbacks, he'll be a safe start in all fantasy leagues for the first scoring period of the regular season.

Texas Rangers SS Elvis Andrus (elbow) will miss another week with a sore right elbow, and the plan is for him to start a seven-day throwing program starting Saturday, March 22, before returning to game action. The team's last exhibition game is next Saturday, March 29. Andrus will receive at-bats in a minor league game Friday, March 21.
Fantasy Tip: Andrus almost certainly won't be full speed in time for opening day, and there's a decent chance he'll need to start on the disabled list. In the event Andrus starts on the DL, Adam Rosales can fill in at the 6 for the short term.

Texas Rangers SS Elvis Andrus (elbow) is downplaying the severity of his elbow tightness after he was scratched from the game Tuesday, March 18. Rangers officials said they are just being cautious with Andrus.
Fantasy Tip: It's a bit concerning, since it's something Andrus dealt with earlier in camp. If he's not back in action soon, that's when we should start fearing that it's something more serious that could put him on the DL to start the season.
