Mets | Wilmer Flores moved to two-hole

Thu, 21 May 2015 07:41:55 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores is batting second against the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday, May 21.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has five runs, three home runs and seven RBI with a .524 slugging percentage over his last 11 games, and he boasts significant power potential for a middle infielder. FantasyScore players should view him as a moderate-risk, high-reward shortstop option hitting in a prime lineup spot Thursday.

Mets | Wilmer Flores drives in four

Sat, 16 May 2015 19:44:10 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored in a 14-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, May 16.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is up to six home runs on the year, and while he isn't the most consistent hitter, his power potential makes him worth a look at FantasyScore if you want to gamble on a cheaper shortstop.

Mets | Wilmer Flores hits fifth round tripper

Thu, 14 May 2015 14:51:43 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores hit his fifth home run of the season during New York's 6-5 loss to the Chicago Cubs Thursday, May 14.

Fantasy Tip: While Flores ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) doesn't project to hit for a plus-average, the pop is legit, especially for a middle infielder. FantasyScore players have a nice upside source of cap relief due to his power potential, albeit a risky one.

Mets | Wilmer Flores back in action Tuesday

Tue, 05 May 2015 13:54:51 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores is back in the lineup Tuesday, May 5, against the Baltimore Orioles.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has slumped in recent days so he was given time off to clear his head. Your best bet is to avoid Flores until he has proven his hitting skills again.

Mets | Wilmer Flores has long leash

Mon, 04 May 2015 10:16:43 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores has seven errors at shortstop in 21 games this year, which is tied for third most in the majors, and he's already had one more error than he committed in 51 games at shortstop in 2014. However, manager Terry Collins said Flores has a long leash. Flores was rested the last two days to close out the weekend series against the Washington Nationals, though. Flores is also currently in a 2-for-20 slump at the plate. Despite not having much experience at shortstop, the Mets continue to stick with him.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is hitting .240 (18-for-75) with three home runs and eight RBI on the season, and he'll have another day off as the team travels Monday. At FantasyScore, you'll want to avoid him until he gets things going again at the plate.

Mets | Wilmer Flores may get Sunday off

Sat, 02 May 2015 15:30:48 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores may not play Sunday, May 3, and he may have a three-day break lined up because the Mets are off Monday, May 4.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) hasn't hit well, and a three-day rest period now may be followed by an option to the minors if he continues his lack of hitting. For now, do not play Flores in any of your daily lineups.

Mets | Wilmer Flores resting

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 11:23:32 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 28. SS Ruben Tejada is starting at shortstop and hitting sixth in the batting order against New York Mets SP David Phelps.

Fantasy Tip: Tejada ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a light-hitting infielder that should be considered a low-end shortstop play at FantasyScore tonight. Plus, Phelps has been surprisingly good for the Marlins in April.

Mets | Wilmer Flores backed by GM

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 10:47:07 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores is off to a rough start to the year - .158 batting average and three errors in six games. However, genearl manager Sandy Alderson is confident in the young shortstop and thinks he'll be just fine.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) will be a cheap shortstop option at FantasyScore all season long, but he'll continue to be a weak daily play until he shows some life with the lumber.

Mets | Wilmer Flores back in Mets lineup

Thu, 26 Mar 2015 16:30:12 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores (foot) returned to the lineup Thursday, March 26.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) recently shed his walking boot, and a return to the lineup bodes well for his opening day readiness. Last season, he hit just .251 but rarely struck out -- 11.3% strikeout rate -- and hit well in the minors. Shortstop lacks depth, and Flores makes for a nice late-round flier.

Mets | Wilmer Flores out of walking boot

Mon, 23 Mar 2015 18:59:19 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores (foot) shed his walking boot Monday, March 23, and he said he was confident he would be ready for the regular season opener. He suffered a bruised left foot during a Grapefruit League spring game Sunday, March 22, after fouling a ball off his foot.

Fantasy Tip: Ruben Tejeda will see significant spring at-bats with Flores sidelined, and if Flores is not ready for the regular season he would likely start the opener.
