Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) is back in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 5, leading off and serving as the designated hitter. Also, 1B Brandon Moss is not playing, with 1B Nate Freiman starting at first base. OF Sam Fuld remains in center field, and OF Jonny Gomes is starting in left.

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) came into the game as a pinch hitter Monday, Aug. 4, and he will be back in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 5.
Fantasy Tip: A healthy Crisp is bad news for the playing time of Sam Fuld. He'll essentially be relegated to bench duties now. Feel free to use Crisp in daily leagues now that he's back in the lineup.

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) had some trigger-point injections in his neck Friday, Aug. 1, and he is unavailable to play.
Fantasy Tip: It wouldn't be a surprise if Crisp is held out all weekend, and if he doesn't improve shortly, he'll likely land on the disabled list. In the short term, AL-only owners looking for a boost in stolen bases or just an extra outfielder in general should look Sam Fuld's way.

Oakland Athletics OFs Jonny Gomes and Sam Fuld could serve in a platoon in left field to replace OF Yoenis Cespedes, who was traded to the Boston Red Sox. Fuld also gives the A's a solid defensive outfielder.
Fantasy Tip: Gomes is clearly the better offensive weapon and fantasy option, but the move to Oakland in a pitcher friendly environment takes some of the intrigue out of his bat. In a platoon role with Fuld, he's purely AL-only material.

Oakland Athletics OF Sam Fuld will play center field with OF Craig Gentry (hand) still on the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Fuld's defense will work in his favor, but he'll remain subject to varying permutations of potential platoons. Fuld still can be a fifth mixed fly-catcher.

Updating a previous report, the Minnesota Twins sent OF Sam Fuld to the Oakland Athletics for SP Tommy Milone.
Fantasy Tip: Fuld, who started 2014 with the Athletics, probably will start a few times a week in Oakland's platoon-laden outfield. They'll probably value his defense significantly, though. He can be valuable in five-outfielder mixed leagues.

The Oakland Athletics have expressed interest in OF Sam Fuld. With a neck injury hobbling OF Coco Crisp and OF Craig Gentry out with a broken hand, sources indicate the team is worried about its depth in the outfield.
Fantasy Tip: Sam Fuld starts strong and then has a tendency to tail off. His fantasy value should be downplayed for that very reason. It would be one thing if Fuld started and you only needed a couple weeks of production out of him, but the reality is Fuld is a backup outfielder at best.

The Minnesota Twins activated OF Aaron Hicks (shoulder) from the disabled list and optioned him to Double-A New Britain.
Fantasy Tip: They're sticking with the outfield of Josh Willingham, Sam Fuld and Oswaldo Arcia, but that could change as Arcia's slump goes on. Hicks is a deep hold in AL-only games but doesn't deserve mixed consideration right now.

The Minnesota Twins placed OF Aaron Hicks (shoulder) on the disabled list Friday, June 13, and activated OF Sam Fuld (concussion) from the DL in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Danny Santana has been a real nice surprise filling in for Hicks in center field, both with the bat and glove. There's no reason Minnesota should go away from him with Hicks sidelined even further. Fuld gives the Twins outfield depth.

Minnesota Twins OF Aaron Hicks (shoulder) was held out for the fourth straight game Wednesday, June 11, with a sore right shoulder, and there is a chance he'll need to go back to Minnesota to be examined by doctors Thursday, June 12. Hicks is having trouble throwing the ball. SS Danny Santana has made his fourth straight start in center with Hicks out. If Hicks goes on the disabled list, OF Sam Fuld (concussion) could replace him on the roster. Fuld has been doing well on a rehab assignment with Double-A New Britain, and he homered Tuesday, June 10.
Fantasy Tip: Even if Hicks avoids the DL, there's a chance that his playing time will suffer because of the way Santana has held his own with the bat and in the outfield. Consider dumping Hicks in mixed leagues, especially if he lands on the 15-day DL.
