New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores is set to be the team's starting shortstop heading into the 2015 season. The Mets shopped for upgrades at the position this offseason, but not much was available. The good news is that Flores had a slugging percentage of .514 with five home runs in his last 28 games. SS Ruben Tejada will likely be the primary backup at shortstop and second base.

New York Mets SS Ruben Tejada, who has had only two at-bats in the last nine games, is set to start a game during the weekend, according to manager Terry Collins. SS Wilmer Flores is making his ninth straight start at shortstop Friday, Aug. 15. Flores is batting .250 (8-for-32) with no extra-base hits, two RBIs and no walks since his audition at shortstop started.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets SS Ruben Tejada (head) was feeling "pretty good" after the game Wednesday, July 23, after being hit in the head by a pitch, according to manager Terry Collins. Team doctors said he had no concussion-like symptoms, and he will travel with the team. There is no call-up pending.

Fantasy Tip: If you're in an NL-only fantasy leagues which allows daily transactions, it is a good idea to reserve him. Tejada is likely to get the day off Thursday, regardless of how he feels.
