Mariners | Austin Jackson leading off vs. Detroit

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 15:08:03 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is hitting leadoff against Detroit Tigers SP Alfredo Simon Monday, July 6.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has only two hits in 17 at-bats since last Wednesday, and he's hitting only .254 on the season with three home runs and 15 RBI. However, he could be a successful sleeper pick tonight against Simon, who has allowed 18 earned runs and 29 hits in his last 14 2/3 innings.

Mariners | Austin Jackson not in lineup Sunday

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 11:10:52 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is getting the day off against the Oakland Athletics Sunday, July 5. OF James Jones will play center field and bat leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: Jones ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) swiped 27 bags in 108 games last year but has had difficulty hitting consistently enough to get regular playing time at the major league level. Unless you need a lot of salary cap relief Sunday, he should not be considered for FantasyScore lineups.

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is back in the leadoff spot Thursday, July 2, against the Oakland Athletics and LHP Scott Kazmir. 1B Logan Morrison will hit seventh in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is hitting .319 against southpaws this season, with just six strikeouts in 51 plate appearances. Jackson will offer some cap relief to FantasyScore owners, to go with a fair measure of upside.

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 12:00:34 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF James Jones is starting in center field and batting eighth Sunday, June 21, against the Houston Astros. OF Austin Jackson is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: If you need lots of salary cap relief for your FantasyScore lineup, Jones ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is an intriguing option. Although he is hitless in four at-bats this season, Jones hit .250 with 27 steals over 108 games last year.

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 15:19:45 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is back in the leadoff spot Saturday, June 20, against the Houston Astros and LHP Dallas Keuchel.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has struggled since returning to the lineup, drawing just four walks since May 26. Jackson showed his skill set on the bases Wednesday, when he tripled, but Jackson has just two stolen bases since his return, and he's a non-factor on FantasyScore.

Mariners | Logan Morrison demoted to seventh

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 15:11:23 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison is batting seventh against Houston Astros SP Brett Oberholtzer Friday, June 12. OF Austin Jackson is leading off and playing center field Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is one game removed from a 16-game hitting streak, but while he hit first the past three games, he doesn't profile as your typical leadoff man. Morrison receives a slight value hit, but it is worth noting, much of his success during the hitting streak came batting lower in the order. Jackson's ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) fantasy value alters little. After all, he has spent the majority of the season leading off. Both hitters are worth considering for FantasyScore lineups, with Jackson presenting nice upside at his low cap hit.

Mariners | Austin Jackson homer wins game

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 04:06:43 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson had a home run Saturday, June 6, to guide his team to a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Jackson is hitting .390 with four doubles, a triple, a home run and four RBIs in his last 10 games.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has turned into a decent buy at his low price. He has been one of the bright spots in an otherwise dismal lineup that needed a bit of a shakeup. As long as his bat has some pop to it then Jackson is worth the money.

Mariners | Austin Jackson resting Friday

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 16:23:14 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 5. OF Dustin Ackley is starting in center field and hitting ninth in the batting order against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi.

Fantasy Tip: Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) hasn't been useful all season at FantasyScore, and that shouldn't change tonight, especially while hitting last in the batting order against a pitcher that has been solid all season long.
