Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SS Taylor Featherston is starting at third base and hitting eighth in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP Aaron Sanchez Tuesday, May 19. 3B David Freese is serving as the designated hitter.
Fantasy Tip: Featherston ($1,600, 3.2% of cap), who is hitting .083 (1-for-12) can be ignored at FantasyScore.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (elbow) is in the starting lineup for the spring training game Sunday, March 29. He has missed the last four games because of a hyperextended elbow.
Fantasy Tip: Freese ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has a few games left to prepare for the regular season and looks to be ready. Freese likely will have more value in AL-only leagues but could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore because of his home run potential.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (elbow) hasn't played since hyperextending his left elbow Tuesday, March 24, and he will take a few more days off to heal. He took ground balls and dry swings Thursday, March 26, and manager Mike Scioscia said Freese is "moving in the right direction."
Fantasy Tip: Freese ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is mainly valuable in AL-only leagues at a weak position for his double-digit home run power. However, he won't contribute much else, and he'll mainly be a matchup play at a cheap cost at FantasyScore in 2015.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (elbow) hyperextended his left elbow against a runner at third base Tuesday, March 24, but is fine, according to manager Mike Scioscia.
Fantasy Tip: Freese is coming off his second straight poor campaign at the hot corner. Since 2013, he's hit just 19 homers in over 1,000 plate appearances. His average has been just over .260 in that time frame as well. Freese is an AL-only league option but not someone worth drafting in standard leagues.

Los Angeles Angels 3B David Freese (ankle) is healthy entering spring training, after he underwent minor ankle surgery this offseason.
Fantasy Tip: The supporting cast and everyday at-bats are Freese's best fantasy assets, which doesn't say a lot about his stock. Consider Freese a late-round flier in mixed leagues and a low-end option at third in AL-only formats.

Free-agent SPs Max Scherzer (Tigers) and James Shields (Royals) aren't targets for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim this offseason, but a cost-controlled third base prospect is. 3B David Freese will be a free agent after the 2015 season, and the Angels don't currently have anyone to step in at the hot corner after that. 3B Kaleb Cowart has struggled in Class AA the last two years, and the team is unsure if they can rely on him.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 2B Howie Kendrick or 3B David Freese are likely to be traded this offseason so that the team can address other needs, mainly their pitching, according to major league sources. The Angels could seek another starting pitcher or a left-hander for their bullpen. Both Kendrick and Freese are entering the final year of their contracts, and Kendrick may be more likely to be dealt because the team could replace him with 2Bs Grant Green or Gordon Beckham. Kendrick has limited no-trade protection that allows him to block a trade to six teams this year and just four next year.
