Angels | David Freese update

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 08:48:31 -0700

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (finger) has a broken right index finger, and he'll be in a splint for at least two weeks. It was previously reported he had a broken thumb. He'll have another X-ray on the finger in two weeks to determine when he can return.

Fantasy Tip: Freese will land on the disabled list Thursday, July 23. He missed 16 games last season when he broke his right middle finger, which serves as a good gauge for how long he'll be out. Taylor Featherston ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) and Grant Green ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) are likely to fill in, but both have combined to hit .157. Look elsewhere on FantasyScore.

Angels | David Freese has thumb fracture

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 22:38:36 -0700

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (thumb) has a fractured right thumb and he will be placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain how long Freese will be sidelined, but Taylor Featherston ($1,600; or 3.2% of cap) and Grant Green ($2,000; or 4.0% of cap) are likely to hold down the fort at the hot corner in Freese's stead.

Angels | David Freese leaves game

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 20:36:22 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (hand) left the game Wednesday, July 22, against the Minnesota Twins due to a right hand injury as a result of a hit by pitch.

Fantasy Tip: Freese ($3,800; or 7.6% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in one full game without any setbacks. If Freese misses time, Taylor Featherston ($1,600; or 3.2% of cap) could see starts at the hot corner.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese comes out of the lineup for Game 2 of the doubleheader Monday, July 20, against the Boston Red Sox. SS Taylor Featherston will start at third base and hit ninth in the lineup against RHP Steven Wright.

Angels | No David Freese Thursday

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 16:32:55 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 9. SS Taylor Featherston is starting at third base and hitting ninth against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez.

Fantasy Tip: Featherston ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) doesn't do much with the bat and is a very poor option against M's ace Hernandez tonight on FantasyScore.

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 09:36:46 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese is out of the lineup Wednesday, June 24, in favor of 3B Kyle Kubitza.

Fantasy Tip: Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is hitting .240 with one RBI in 25 at-bats and hasn't done anything worth FantasyScore usage.

Angels | Kyle Kubitza playing Saturday

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 12:22:55 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B Kyle Kubitza is in the starting lineup against the Oakland Athletics Saturday, June 20, batting eighth. 3B David Freese is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is in the lineup for the first time since Tuesday, June 16. He has six hits in his first 20 major league at-bats but he is not a great FantasyScore option this afternoon.

Angels | David Freese limited to DH

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 23:02:38 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (hamstring) was limited to the designated hitter spot Monday, June 15, against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to a hamstring injury. Manager Mike Scioscia said Freese would be back at third base Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, when there is no designated hitter for the team's game in a National League park.

Fantasy Tip: It appears safe to keep Freese ($3,700; or 7.4% of cap) in the active FantasyScore lineup since there are no plans for him to sit due to his hamstring issue.

Angels | David Freese serving as DH

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 12:21:26 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese is batting fifth and serving as the designated hitter against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray Sunday, June 14. 3B Kyle Kubitza will play the hot corner and bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Freese ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has 10 hits in his last 30 at-bats, while Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is 3-for-9 since being called up. However, neither player is a great FantasyScore option this afternoon against Gray.

Angels | David Freese cleared to return Saturday

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 15:38:54 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (hamstring) has been cleared to return to the lineup Saturday, June 13.

Fantasy Tip: Freese is out again Friday night and Kyle Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is starting again at third base and hitting ninth against Oakland Athletics starter Jesse Chavez. Kubitza has three hits (all singles) in his first three major league at-bats, but he's a weak option for daily lineups.
