Angels | David Freese with the day off

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 09:36:46 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese is out of the lineup Wednesday, June 24, in favor of 3B Kyle Kubitza.

Fantasy Tip: Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is hitting .240 with one RBI in 25 at-bats and hasn't done anything worth FantasyScore usage.

Angels | Kyle Kubitza playing Saturday

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 12:22:55 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B Kyle Kubitza is in the starting lineup against the Oakland Athletics Saturday, June 20, batting eighth. 3B David Freese is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is in the lineup for the first time since Tuesday, June 16. He has six hits in his first 20 major league at-bats but he is not a great FantasyScore option this afternoon.

Angels | David Freese limited to DH

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 23:02:38 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (hamstring) was limited to the designated hitter spot Monday, June 15, against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to a hamstring injury. Manager Mike Scioscia said Freese would be back at third base Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, when there is no designated hitter for the team's game in a National League park.

Fantasy Tip: It appears safe to keep Freese ($3,700; or 7.4% of cap) in the active FantasyScore lineup since there are no plans for him to sit due to his hamstring issue.

Angels | David Freese serving as DH

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 12:21:26 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese is batting fifth and serving as the designated hitter against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray Sunday, June 14. 3B Kyle Kubitza will play the hot corner and bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Freese ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has 10 hits in his last 30 at-bats, while Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is 3-for-9 since being called up. However, neither player is a great FantasyScore option this afternoon against Gray.

Angels | David Freese cleared to return Saturday

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 15:38:54 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (hamstring) has been cleared to return to the lineup Saturday, June 13.

Fantasy Tip: Freese is out again Friday night and Kyle Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is starting again at third base and hitting ninth against Oakland Athletics starter Jesse Chavez. Kubitza has three hits (all singles) in his first three major league at-bats, but he's a weak option for daily lineups.

Angels | David Freese remains out

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 11:26:26 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, June 11. 3B Kyle Kubitza once again replaces him at third base and will hit ninth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Colome.

Fantasy Tip: While Freese's injury isn't believed to be serious, he could miss another game this weekend to be safe. He should be avoided on FantasyScore. Kubitza ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) had two hits in his major league debut last night, but he's a weak third base option on FantasyScore with Freese out.

Angels | David Freese out vs. Rays

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 13:34:17 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 10. 3B Kyle Kubitza is playing third base and batting eighth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Erasmo Ramirez Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Freese ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats Wednesday, and until he returns and proves his health. While his batting average (.239) leaves a lot to be desired, his 25 runs, nine home runs and 32 RBI are worthy counting stats in deep mixed formats. Continue to check back for updates on when he'll return. Kubitza will be making his major league debut, and while he has handled the bat well in the minors (career .273 hitter through 1715 at-bats), daily players should aim higher.

Angels | David Freese injured

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 04:48:41 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (hamstring) left the Tuesday, June 9, game against the Tampa Bay Rays with right hamstring tightness. His status will be evaluated further on Wednesday, June 10.

Fantasy Tip: It has been a nice bounce-back season for Freese ($3,500, 7.0% of cap), who had a 12-game hitting streak at the time of the injury. Because this is just tightness, Freese shouldn't miss too much time if any. Still, stay tuned to later updates and be prepared to spend a game without him if need be.

Tue, 19 May 2015 11:56:12 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SS Taylor Featherston is starting at third base and hitting eighth in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP Aaron Sanchez Tuesday, May 19. 3B David Freese is serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Featherston ($1,600, 3.2% of cap), who is hitting .083 (1-for-12) can be ignored at FantasyScore.

Angels | David Freese in lineup

Sun, 29 Mar 2015 08:07:54 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B David Freese (elbow) is in the starting lineup for the spring training game Sunday, March 29. He has missed the last four games because of a hyperextended elbow.

Fantasy Tip: Freese ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has a few games left to prepare for the regular season and looks to be ready. Freese likely will have more value in AL-only leagues but could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore because of his home run potential.
