Sat, 28 Oct 2017 13:59:11 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Charles will serve as the primary backup running back and will see limited touches. He had some success earlier in the season, but owners should have better options to use in their starting lineup.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles wants to make impact

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 19:52:37 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles said he would love for the coaching staff to "take the training wheels off" of him when the Broncos face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Charles clearly wants to give his former team a little payback, but as part of a committee in Denver, he just doesn't see enough touches to warrant a starting spot.

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 15:10:19 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (rest) was able to return to practice on a full basis Friday, Oct. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Charles received the veteran's day off on Thursday, as the team preserves him for game day. He remains useful only in the deepest of fantasy formats as long as C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker are available.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles does not practice

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 15:45:22 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Charles usually receives the first day of the practice week off and will be ready to play against the Kansas City Chiefs. He started off the season strong but has seen a drop in his production over the last few weeks. Owners in all leagues should be able to find better options and can avoid Charles.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles totals eight touches

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 20:16:26 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles rushed four times for just two yards in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers while adding four grabs for 20 yards.

Fantasy Tip: The run game has been stifled in Denver, as opposing defenses are stacking the box and daring Trevor Siemian to beat them through the air. It isn't happening right now. Charles is only worth using in the very deepest of fantasy leagues heading into Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 20, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has received only 10 carries over the last two weeks but still has 52 yards during that span. He has been successful in his limited playing time, but owners may want to consider other options that receive more touches for their starting lineup.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles returns to practice

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 17:01:08 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) was back at practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has disappointed those who gave him a shot on their fantasy teams this year, though it's mostly not his fault due to lack of touches. In fact, his number of carries has decreased gradually since Week 1 and he's yet to record multiple receptions in a game yet. He shouldn't be started in any formats at the moment.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles slated for more touches

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 06:34:04 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles is on tap to receive more touches, according to head coach Vance Joseph. "That's always the plan with Jamaal as we go forward in the season," Joseph said. "He'll get more and more touches."

Fantasy Tip: Charles has received 38 carries and three receptions through five games, and it remains to be seen whether his workload will increase by much at his age. He's averaging 5.1 yards per carry, but Charles is just a bench stash for now.

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles struggles in Week 6

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 05:00:17 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles rushed five times for 19 yards in a Week 6 loss to the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: This may have been the best reason to keep Charles seated until the Broncos figure out the rushing attack. Granted, C.J. Anderson struggled as well, but as long as the RB committee continues Charles will get the lower end of the deal.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles returns to practice

Thu, 12 Oct 2017 14:30:00 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury related) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has played well in his first season in orange and blue, but he can't be trusted in the fantasy realm as long as C.J. Anderson is healthy. Anderson will continue to serve as Denver's lead back. Charles is nothing more than good depth with added value in PPR scoring.

Thu, 28 Sep 2017 16:51:06 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Charles will continue to serve as the No. 2 running back and will receive around 10 touches again this week. He has been successful in his limited role in the first three weeks of the season and can be a flex option in standard leagues.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles receives day off

Wed, 27 Sep 2017 16:51:30 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Charles will be able to play in Week 4 and should continue to see around 10 touches per game. He is coming off a solid Week 3 game with 56 rushing yards and one touchdown. Charles can be considered a flex option or even a low-end No. 2 running back in leagues.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles runs for 56 yards, TD

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 15:01:33 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles rushed nine times for a game-high 56 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 in Buffalo and he had one catch for just one yard.

Fantasy Tip: Charles picked up the slack with C.J. Anderson mostly contained. He continues to take advantage of the absence of Devontae Booker, looking like the Charles of old. He isn't quite a fantasy stud, but he can be trusted as an RB3 or flex play in most formats heading into Week 4 against the Raiders.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles ready to play

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 15:00:33 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) fully participated in practice and is not on the injury report for Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has been productive as the No. 2 running back for the Broncos and has rushed for at least 40 yards in each of the first two games of the season. He probably will receive a similar workload in Week 3 and probably should only be a possible flex option in deeper leagues.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles returns to practice

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 15:16:47 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury related) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 21, one day after he was held out.

Fantasy Tip: Charles is just fine and has been rested on Wednesdays due to his age. Although he's the clear backup to C.J. Anderson, the former Kansas City Chief has managed to post some modest numbers thus far, logging 86 yards on 19 rushes. However, his services should be reserved for the deepest formats.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles posts 10 touches

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:42:59 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles rushed nine times for 46 yards and he added a catch for six yards on his only target in Week 2 against the Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Cowboys has looked good when spelling C.J. Anderson through the first two games. He appears to be back to 100 percent health, and he still looks to have a little left in the tank. However, it's uncertain if his role will change once Devontae Booker is ready to return, so tread lightly.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles back on the field

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 15:20:14 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Charles should serve as the No. 2 running back again against the Dallas Cowboys. He probably will see around the same amount of touches has he did in Week 1, but owners should be able to find better options to use in their lineups.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles held out of practice

Wed, 13 Sep 2017 14:36:18 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (non-injury) was held out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Charles debuted with 10 rushes for 40 yards on Monday night against the Chargers, but he also lost a fumble. He was seeing more touches than expected with Devontae Booker (wrist). Once Booker can return it will be a crowded backfield and Charles will be fighting for crumbs.

Broncos | Mixed results for Jamaal Charles

Tue, 12 Sep 2017 03:52:20 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles finished with 10 carries and 40 yards Monday, Sept. 11, in a 24-21 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Fantasy Tip: Not only were his yards down, Charles committed a costly turnover with a fumble that aided the Chargers in their comeback drive. Prior to the game, the coaching staff said Charles might be limited to 10 touches or less, which is the staff's way of working him into action. Charles didn't do anything wrong to jeopardize his No. 2 status, but a healthy C.J. Anderson will keep him from doing much else.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles to see no more than 10 touches?

Mon, 11 Sep 2017 11:40:35 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles "may be limited to 10 touches or so" in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers as the team continues to ease him in to action after playing so little in each of the previous two seasons, in the opinion of Mike Klis of 9News.

Fantasy Tip: Charles went from a potential preseason release candidate to perhaps sharing backfield work with C.J. Anderson with a fine showing in the Broncos' dress rehearsal a couple of weeks ago. The former Kansas City Chief will be hard-pressed to become a fantasy asset on only 10 touches, but his role will most likely grow if he is able to come away from Monday's action without any issues. With that said, his upside will be capped as long as Anderson is healthy.

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) fully participated in practice Saturday, Sept. 9, and is not on the injury report for Week 1.

Broncos | No practice for Jamaal Charles

Thu, 07 Sep 2017 16:55:27 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Charles may only be receiving a day off, but owners should check on his status later in the week. He likely will serve as the backup running back if he plays and would receive limited playing time. Owners in most leagues probably can find better options to use and can avoid Charles.

Broncos | No practice for Jamaal Charles

Thu, 07 Sep 2017 12:05:20 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (rest) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: This was likely nothing more than a day off for the veteran. He should be good to go on Monday night and will see playing time behind C.J. Anderson. Don't start him right away, though. Only an injury to Anderson would give Charles real fantasy significance.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles makes team

Sun, 27 Aug 2017 07:09:10 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles has made the team's 53-man roster, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles shows some life

Sat, 26 Aug 2017 22:01:16 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles rushed four times for 27 yards and caught two passes for 15 yards in a 20-17 preseason win over the Green Bay Packers Saturday, Aug. 26.

Fantasy Tip: If Charles' knees can hold up, he could play his way into the backup role behind C.J. Anderson. He has some appeal as a late-round lottery ticket.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles will play plenty

Mon, 21 Aug 2017 13:00:33 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) will see a lot of playing time in Week 3 of the preseason, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has some catching up to do. He hasn't seen meaningful action since mid-October of last season. He'll likely be playing behind at least C.J. Anderson, De'Angelo Henderson and Devontae Booker this season, too. Charles is no more than a late-round PPR flier at this point in his career.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles won't play Saturday

Tue, 15 Aug 2017 11:08:12 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) will not play Saturday, Aug. 19, against the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Vance Joseph. He will play in Week 3 of the preseason, however.

Fantasy Tip: The Broncos are taking it easy with their new, fragile toy. They don't want more injury at the position, especially since Devontae Booker is already hurting. If Charles is healthy, he's still no more than a PPR flier.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles may be scratch against 49ers

Mon, 14 Aug 2017 04:26:20 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) may not play in the second exhibition game Saturday, Aug. 19, against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Ordinarily this would not be a big deal, as many of the regular players do not take part in one or more of the exhibitions. However, with Charles returning from knee issues, he needs to show Denver he is capable of some workload. Continue to monitor the situation but keep his draft status downgraded, at least RB4.
