Ravens | Baltimore wants Justin Forsett back

Tue, 24 Feb 2015 13:19:52 -0800

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent RB Justin Forsett is a priority for the team to re-sign this offseason, according to general manager Ozzie Newsome.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett's current fantasy football value is very murky, at best, after a career year in 2014 with Baltimore. There's very little chance that he will repeat that performance in 2015, even if he stays with the Ravens. If he lands in a nice situation in free agency, he'd be an RB 2, at best, in PPR leagues.

Falcons | Justin Forsett interests Atlanta

Mon, 23 Feb 2015 08:28:04 -0800

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent RB Justin Forsett is of high interest to the Atlanta Falcons if he reaches free agency.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett would land in a committee role with Devonta Freeman, and this would likely be a step back from his elite fantasy status last season. Forsett turns 30 in November, and there are plenty of questions about whether he can sustain last season's RB1 output. He'll likely be a low-end RB1 in most drafts.

Ravens | Justin Forsett hopes to return to BAL

Wed, 11 Feb 2015 21:38:57 -0800

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent RB Justin Forsett said Wednesday, Feb. 11, that he would "love to stay in Baltimore." However, he might be one of the top free agents on the market in the spring.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett could return to Baltimore, or he could end up elsewhere. Either way he is likely to have a big workload in 2015, and that's good news for potential fantasy owners.

Lions | Justin Forsett might be option for Lions

Wed, 11 Feb 2015 21:36:53 -0800

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent RB Justin Forsett might be an option for the Detroit Lions. Detroit head coach Jim Caldwell pointed to the running game as an area that needs improving in 2015, and Caldwell and general manager Martin Mayhew have been non-committal on whether Reggie Bush will be back.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett has bounced around the league in his career, but he might have parlayed his big 2014 season in Baltimore into a solid payday. Wherever he lands, it appears he will be in line for a decent amount of work which is good news for fantasy owners.

Ravens | Justin Forsett hopes for long-term deal

Mon, 12 Jan 2015 12:38:39 -0800

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent RB Justin Forsett said he would like to sign a multi-year deal if he returns to the Ravens this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett likely would be the team's starting running back if he re-signs with the Ravens next offseason, but he may have share carries with the other running backs on the roster. Forsett probably could be considered as a No. 2 running back in fantasy drafts next season if he has a starting job.

Ravens | Justin Forsett wants to stay with Ravens

Mon, 12 Jan 2015 10:47:16 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett, who is set to become a free agent in April, said he would like to stay with the team following his breakout season. "This is an organization that first gave me my shot, my first real opportunity," Forsett said. "I would love to stay." He finished the year with 235 rushes for 1,266 yards, which was fifth best in the league. Forsett is in line to earn his first big paycheck of his career this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: It'll be hard for Forsett to improve upon his numbers next season, even if he stays with the Ravens. However, if he remains in a lead-back role next year, he should be a decent RB2 with more value in point-per-reception formats.

Ravens | Justin Forsett solid in loss

Sat, 10 Jan 2015 17:39:10 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett had 24 carries for 129 yards in a 35-31 loss to the New England Patriots in the divisional-round playoff game Saturday, Jan. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett capped a solid season that saw him finish fifth in the NFL in rushing and lead all running backs in yards per carry. After spending most of his career as a backup, Forsett shined as the lead back for the Ravens.

Ravens | Justin Forsett caps off fine season

Sun, 28 Dec 2014 15:48:08 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett finished his breakout season with a 17-carry, 119-yard effort versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 17. He totaled 252 carries for 1,385 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground, plus 46 receptions.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett had a strong year and helped many fantasy owners go the distance. With Baltimore in the playoffs, FantasyScore users can rely on him at least one more time before the season is over.

Ravens | Fitzgerald Toussaint was backup

Tue, 23 Dec 2014 11:14:35 -0800

Baltimore Ravens rookie RB Fitzgerald Toussaint served as the backup to RB Justin Forsett in the team's Week 17 loss to the Houston Texans over RB Bernard Pierce. Toussaint relieved Forsett in the fourth quarter when he injured his ankle and ran four times for 11 yards and also caught two passes for 20 yards on five targets. Pass protection may be the reason why Pierce was overlooked.

Fantasy Tip: Depending on the health status of Forsett, Toussaint could see more work in the season finale against the Cleveland Browns. The matchup is a good one, unfortunately, Toussaint ($5,555) isn't worth much more than a desperation flex play because of his lack of experience.

Ravens | Justin Forsett wearing down

Tue, 23 Dec 2014 06:58:54 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) insists his ankle is fine, despite his decline in production the last two weeks. He has 68 yards in the last two games combined, and it's possible the 218 carries have caught up to him. He has carried the ball 100 times more than he has in any of his previous six seasons.

Fantasy Tip: The team is likely to get Bernard Pierce more involved in Week 17 to spell Forsett. Pierce has just 10 carries in three weeks, so he's nothing more than a speculative flex play. Forsett is a high-end RB2 on FantasyScore.
