Ravens | Justin Forsett the lead back

Tue, 12 Jul 2016 14:33:36 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett is still the "clear lead dog" in the Ravens' backfield, according to Ryan Mink of baltimoreravens.com. The starting job is Forsett's to lose, with RBs Javorius Allen, Kenneth Dixon, Lorenzo Taliaferro, Terrance West and Trent Richardson lurking behind him.

Fantasy Tip: Baltimore is deep at running back, but Forsett is a proven success and should be the lead back as long as he's healthy. Allen and Dixon are probably the most likely to compete for playing time, and both are worth late-round picks in traditional fantasy leagues. Forsett has more value in PPR leagues and should be viewed as an RB3 in such formats.

Ravens | Three BAL RBs up for just one spot?

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 22:00:28 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Lorenzo Taliaferro might be competing with RB Terrance West and RB Trent Richardson for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart behind RBs Justin Forsett, Javorius Allen and Kenneth Dixon.

Fantasy Tip: Taliaferro could have a leg up in the competition with West and Richardson only because he is a third-year back with more knowledge of the playbook. However, whomever wins the battle for the No. 4 job still has a long way to go before having much in the way of fantasy appeal.

Ravens | Justin Forsett to have X-rays next week

Tue, 05 Apr 2016 10:01:41 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (arm), who is already lifting weights again, plans to get X-rays next week to determine how far along he is in his recovery from a broken arm. "I'm excited to get back this season," Forsett said. "Big expectations for myself and I'm just ready to get back at it and be 100%."

Fantasy Tip: Forsett will enter 2016 as the team's primary ball carrier, but he has plenty of competition behind him in Terrance West, Javorius Allen and Lorenzo Taliaferro. Until something changes, though, view Forsett as a solid RB2 with more value in point-per-reception formats.

Ravens | Justin Forsett progressing

Sat, 02 Apr 2016 12:56:40 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (arm) is continuing to make good progress in his recovery from a broken arm last season and has already begun lifting weights.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett will be Baltimore's primary running back again next season, assuming he is fully healthy when the regular season starts. He will also split time with Lorenzo Taliaferro, Javorius Allen and Terrance West, though, but he should still be in RB2 territory with added value in PPR leagues.

Ravens | Justin Forsett will return

Thu, 25 Feb 2016 09:38:35 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) will remain with the Ravens in 2016, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh also said the best running back will get the brunt of the carries.

Fantasy Tip: That means Forsett will have competition from Javorius Allen and/or a potential addition. Forsett is a risky selection this year as an RB2.

Ravens | Justin Forsett almost 100%

Thu, 28 Jan 2016 19:30:08 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) said he should be 100% in "a couple of weeks."

Fantasy Tip: Forsett was having a mediocre 2015 season prior to breaking his arm, and with Javorius Allen showing some promise in his absence, there is a good chance a committee approach will be used in Baltimore's backfield in 2016.

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) was placed on Injured Reserve Friday, Nov. 27. DE Brent Urban (biceps) was activated from short-term Injured Reserve.

Fantasy Tip: Javorius Allen ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) has a good matchup against the Cleveland Browns and is a flex option worth consideration on FantasyScore.

Ravens | Justin Forsett in 2016 plans

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 07:16:28 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) remains part of the team's 2016 plans at the age of 31. "I would expect Justin back next year full-speed, ready to go," head coach John Harbaugh said. "He's under contract and a big part of what we're doing going forward." Forsett signed a three-year, $9 million deal with the Ravens this year, but only the $2.1 million signing bonus and his 2015 salary ($900,000) are guaranteed.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett finished with decent numbers despite being on a bad team. He ran 151 times for 641 yards (4.2 yards per rush) with two touchdowns. He also had 31 catches for 153 yards. He'll be an RB2 consideration in traditional drafts, but expect him to have competition in the backfield.

Ravens | Justin Forsett should be ready for '16

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 13:23:37 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (arm) should return for the offseason program in 2016, according to head coach John Harbaugh. There are no concerns for his long-term availability.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett will miss the rest of this season with a broken arm, giving Javorius Allen the starting reins at running back. If Allen is available in seasonal leagues, he's worth an immediate pickup.

Ravens | Justin Forsett out for season

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 13:46:09 -0800

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) will miss the rest of the season after he broke both bones in his forearm during the team's Week 11 game.

Fantasy Tip: Javorius Allen likely will receive most of the carries for the rest of the season. Allen has posted decent numbers in limited playing time this season and should be an attractive option if he is still available in leagues.

Ravens | Justin Forsett has broken arm

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 10:39:38 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (arm) suffered a broken right arm against the St. Louis Rams Sunday, Nov. 22, and is out for the game.

Fantasy Tip: Depending on the severity of the injury, Forsett could be out for the rest of the season. As long as he is out, Javorius Allen should start in his place and is worth an immediate pickup in seasonal leagues.

Ravens | Justin Forsett has mediocre outing

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 14:46:36 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett had just 53 yards on 14 carries and 11 receiving yards in a 22-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) is way overpriced for someone who has just two touchdowns. Granted, he is the least of the Ravens' worries, but the running game has been stuck in neutral all season. Forsett has just two touchdowns, and the leading rusher on a team should have way more than that.

Ravens | Justin Forsett draws friendly matchup

Sat, 31 Oct 2015 20:41:37 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett faces the San Diego Chargers in Week 8, and the Chargers are allowing the second-most rushing yards per game this season and a league-high 5.3 yards per carry.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) has been up and down this year, but you should feel comfortable using him at FantasyScore in Week 8 against San Diego's porous run defense.

Ravens | Justin Forsett totals 44 yards, TD

Mon, 26 Oct 2015 22:20:43 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett ran 12 times for 36 yards and a touchdown in the Week 7 game against the Arizona Cardinals Monday, Oct. 26. He also had three receptions for eight yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) had two rushing touchdowns over the past three games, although he has totaled just 98 rushing yards. He remains a decent RB2 or flex FantasyScore play despite the decrease in yardage recently.

Ravens | Justin Forsett not on injury report

Thu, 22 Oct 2015 17:40:27 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) is not in the injury report for the Week 7 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) was considered questionable for the Week 6 game because of an ankle injury but appears to be recovered from the injury. Forsett should see a majority of the caries during the game and could be a solid starting option.

Ravens | Justin Forsett sits Wednesday

Wed, 21 Oct 2015 10:50:59 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) is out of practice Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Fantasy Tip: It's likely just a maintenance day for Forsett ($7,000, 14.0% of cap), who has a tough matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on FantasyScore.

Ravens | Justin Forsett plays through pain

Sun, 18 Oct 2015 17:56:53 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) had 17 catches for 62 yards and seven catches for 39 yards in a 25-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) handled a heavy workload despite an ankle injury, so he should be good to go moving forward. That being said, matchup with a solid Arizona defense in Week 7 isnít ideal.

Ravens | Justin Forsett in uniform

Sun, 18 Oct 2015 12:15:00 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) is officially active for the Week 6 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) may be able to see his normal workload during the game but is still a risky option because of the injury. Owners could consider using him in their lineups, but they may want to lower their expectations.

Ravens | Justin Forsett likely will play

Sun, 18 Oct 2015 09:47:42 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) likely will be able to play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) will be able to play, but it is not known if he will see his normal workload. Forsett has a favorable matchup this week and probably should be in starting lineups if he is active.

Ravens | Justin Forsett optimistic

Sun, 18 Oct 2015 07:08:36 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) is optimistic about his chances to play in the Week 6 game against the San Francisco 49ers even though he practiced once this week.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the inactive list to see if Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) is playing, but it appears he is on track to dress for the game. Forsett should see a majority of the carries if he is active and could be a solid starting option since the 49ers struggle against opposing running backs.

Ravens | Justin Forsett hopes to play

Sat, 17 Oct 2015 05:43:06 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) said he is feeling better than he did earlier in the week and hopes to be able to play in the Week 6 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) is considered a game-time decision for the game, so owners will need to check the inactive list. Forsett would have a decent matchup against the 49ers if he is active but would be a risky option. Javorius Allen ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) probably would start if Forsett is ruled out and could be a cheaper starting option on FantasyScore.

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 16, and is listed as questionable for the Week 6 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) was able to return to practice but owners should check the inactive list before filling out their lineups. Forsett will have a favorable matchup if he is active for the game and likely would be a solid starting option.

Ravens | Justin Forsett a game-time decision

Fri, 16 Oct 2015 10:08:20 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) will be a game-time decision in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: With the Ravens having a later game Sunday, Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) probably becomes too big of a risk for FantasyScore gamers. Javorius Allen ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) might be worth a look as a deep sleeper in a flex spot if Forsett doesn't play.

Ravens | Justin Forsett back Friday

Fri, 16 Oct 2015 08:56:17 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Oct. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) appears on track to play against a depleted San Francisco 49ers defense. The Ravens are starting to get healthy around him, and he's a low-end RB2 on FantasyScore.

Thu, 15 Oct 2015 10:50:37 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) is out of practice Thursday, Oct. 15, with RB Javorius Allen running with the first-team offense.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) will have a clearer picture Friday. He has a decent matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. If Allen ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) ends up starting, he'll be a premium basement play on FantasyScore.

Ravens | Justin Forsett out Wednesday

Wed, 14 Oct 2015 11:17:23 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) is out of practice Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) would have a decent matchup against a banged-up San Francisco 49ers defense. He'd be an RB2 consideration on FantasyScore.

Ravens | Justin Forsett injury not serious

Mon, 12 Oct 2015 14:54:24 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) avoided a high-ankle sprain in a Week 5 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Head coach John Harbaugh said Forsett could still play this week.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett has played like 2014 Justin Forsett the last two games, totaling 271 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. He also caught four passes for 49 yards yesterday. His status will need to be monitored this week, but it's hard to bench Forsett against the San Francisco 49ers considering his recent success.

Ravens | Justin Forsett suffers ankle injury late

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 19:09:21 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (ankle) said he suffered an ankle injury late in the fourth quarter against the Cleveland Browns in Week 5 and did no return. "I felt like if I went back out there I possibly could have damaged it more," Forsett said.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) finished with 170 yards from scrimmage, but make sure to check on the status of his ankle before considering him at FantasyScore going forward.

Ravens | Justin Forsett tops 100 yards

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 18:39:17 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett had 21 carries for 121 yards and a touchdown and four catches for 49 yards in a 33-30 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: For the second week in a row, Forsett ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) went over 100 yards while averaging more than five yards per carry. After a slow start, Forsett seems to be on track, and he is worth a starting spot at FantasyScore against the struggling 49ers in Week 6.

Ravens | Prime matchup for Justin Forsett

Fri, 09 Oct 2015 16:31:03 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett had 119 yards the last time he faced the Cleveland Browns, and Baltimore has averaged 144 yards rushing against Cleveland since John Harbaugh has been their coach. The Browns have allowed the second-most rushing yards in the NFL in the last 10 years.

Fantasy Tip: All signs are pointing toward a big day of production for Forsett ($6,800, 13.6% of cap). He will be the offense for Baltimore with Steve Smith and Crockett Gillmore out Sunday, whether it be on the ground or via short dump-off passes out of the backfield. He's essentially a must-play in Week 5 in all formats.

Ravens | Justin Forsett primed for big game

Thu, 08 Oct 2015 20:07:24 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett faces the Cleveland Browns in Week 5, and the Browns have allowed a league-high 556 rushing yards in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) carried the load for the Ravens last week after Steve Smith went down, and with Smith still sidelined, Forsett should be given plenty of chances to exploit a great matchup. Start him with confidence at FantasyScore.

Ravens | Justin Forsett could be busy

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 19:05:33 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett carried the ball a season-high 26 times in Week 4, and the Ravens ran the ball 19 times and threw the ball 15 times after WR Steve Smith (back) exited with a back injury.

Fantasy Tip: With Smith already ruled out against Cleveland, Forsett will be a very attractive option at FantasyScore against a shaky Cleveland run defense.

Ravens | Justin Forsett runs for 150 yards

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 21:49:18 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett had 27 carries for 150 yards in a 23-20 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) had managed just 124 yards in the first three games of the year combined, but he more than doubled his season total against Pittsburgh. He could be gaining steam just in time for a friendly matchup with Cleveland in Week 5.

Ravens | Rough start for Justin Forsett

Tue, 29 Sep 2015 17:45:52 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett is only averaging 3.2 yards per carry so far this year, down 2.2 yards per carry from last year (5.4).

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens have been forced to pass a lot this year, which has attributed to Forsett's tough start. Still, Forsett does not look like the same running back he was last year. The silver lining is that he has caught four passes in each of his first three games. He's still Baltimore's best running back and still has value, especially in PPR leagues.

Ravens | Justin Forsett's role worrisome

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 12:08:52 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett only had 42 snaps in Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders, which was only seven more than backup RB Lorenzo Taliaferro. Forsett said he was limited by the team's running back rotation and not by injury. Taliaferro served as the primary red-zone runner and scored the Ravens' only rushing touchdown so far this year.

Fantasy Tip: As if living up to last year's expectations for Forsett ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) weren't enough, now he may be dealing with fewer touches overall. This is a big concern for his owners moving forward, and it might make him flex-worthy at best on FantasyScore. Taliaferro ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is more attractive in standard-scoring leagues, but he could creep into sleeper consideration for a flex spot in daily formats in the right matchup.

Ravens | Justin Forsett likely to play

Fri, 18 Sep 2015 14:50:09 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (shoulder) practiced in full for the second straight day Friday, Sept. 18, and is probable for Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) was held in check by a strong Denver Broncos defense in Week 1. This week against Oakland he could easily break out after they were torched by the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. Forsett is priced to return plenty of value this weekend.

Ravens | Justin Forsett ready to bounce back?

Thu, 17 Sep 2015 19:10:09 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett faces the Oakland Raiders in Week 2, and Oakland's defense allowed 127 yards rushing and two touchdowns in Week 1 and the third most rushing touchdowns in the NFL last season.

Fantasy Tip: Don't be scared off by Forsett's ($6,700, 13.6% of cap) horrible debut. He is the main back in Baltimore's offense and should do plenty of damage against the Raiders. Start him with confidence at FantasyScore.

Ravens | Justin Forsett practices in full

Thu, 17 Sep 2015 17:01:58 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) should be fine to play against the Oakland Raiders in Week 2 and should be a starting option in all leagues because of the favorable matchup.

Ravens | Justin Forsett limited

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 16:53:50 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see if Forsett ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) is a question mark for Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders. Forsett would be a very good fantasy option if he is able to play because of the matchup.

Ravens | Justin Forsett ready for encore

Sat, 08 Aug 2015 18:57:10 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett said he plans to prove the team made the right decision re-signing him in the offseason. "I'm going on my eighth year, and my mindset is I don't ever want to be comfortable," Forsett said. "As soon as you get comfortable, that's when bad things happen. I've got to go out there and continue to show that I deserve to be here."

Fantasy Tip: With just one solid season under his belt, Forsett is somewhat of an unproven commodity. However, he is in perfect position to duplicate his success from last year with Marc Trestman taking over as offensive coordinator. He should be solid RB2 in 2015, especially in points-per-reception formats.

Ravens | Justin Forsett could see big workload

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 22:48:05 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett is likely to see another substantial workload, as offensive coordinator Marc Trestman is a big believer in the running game, and the team will maintain the same zone blocking system they had last year under former offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak.

Fantasy Tip: Trestman also likes to use screen passes and throws to running backs out of the backfield, so Forsett could be a huge addition for fantasy owners in points per reception (PPR) leagues. He had 44 catches last season. Under Trestman in Chicago, Matt Forte had 102 receptions, so keep that in mind on draft day.

Ravens | Justin Forsett played well in 2014

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 09:25:52 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett averaged 5.4 yards per carry last season and also had 17 rushes of more than 20 yards, which was the most among running backs in both categories.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett re-signed with the Ravens this offseason and should see a majority of carries this season. Forsett should be a solid option in the early- to middle-rounds of drafts and will be a starting option most weeks.

Ravens | Justin Forsett to catch more passes?

Thu, 04 Jun 2015 13:28:00 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett could see an increased role in the passing game under new offensive coordinator Marc Trestman. Forsett said he's excited about being used more as a receiver and is making sure his route-running is up to par so he can be ready for when he's called upon in that area.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett probably won't put up the same kind of numbers Matt Forte did under Trestman in Chicago, but he's still a candidate to be a RB1 in point-per-reception leagues. He may not be used as much on the ground with Lorenzo Taliaferro and rookie Javorius Allen in the mix as well, so temper expectations a little bit in standard leagues.

Ravens | Justin Forsett expects bigger role

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 18:40:22 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett expects to have a bigger role in the passing game in 2015. "I was a third down back in the past. That's how I got my start was being a third down back, picking up blitzes, running screens and routes out of the backfield." Forsett said. "I haven't spent much extra time running routes because outside of last year, I have always been used that way. I am ready for it," said Forsett.

Fantasy Tip: Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte caught 102 passes in 2014, in Marc Trestman's offense. With Trestman now the Ravens' offensive coordinator, Forsett should catch more than the 44 balls he caught last season. After emerging as a top fantasy running back in standard leagues in 2014, Forsett could now conquer PPR leagues as well.

Ravens | Justin Forsett firmly grasping role

Tue, 05 May 2015 07:47:30 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett has a firm grip on the lead running back role after the Ravens waited until the fourth round to select RB Javorius Allen in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett is a risky RB1 because he came out of nowhere for his breakthrough '14 season. He has no competition, though, and you'll need to grab him in the late-first or early second round of traditional drafts.

Ravens | Justin Forsett back with Baltimore

Thu, 12 Mar 2015 11:30:35 -0700

Free-agent RB Justin Forsett (Ravens) re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens on a three-year deal Thursday, March 12. according to a source. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: It'll be extremely tough for Forsett to best his outstanding 2014 campaign in which he totaled 235 carries for 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns, especially without offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak and the zone-blocking system. Expect Forsett to be overvalued in 2015 fantasy drafts. However, he could still serve as a legitimate RB2 in point-per-reception leagues.

Redskins | 'Skins could make play for Justin Forsett

Fri, 06 Mar 2015 10:05:39 -0800

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent RB Justin Forsett could see interest from the Washington Redskins in free agency.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett is likely to get a lot of work with what ever team he signs with in 2015, but it is hard to imagine he will repeat on an outstanding 2014 season. Forsett should be considered an RB2 with some upside in PPR leagues.
