Packers | Jordy Nelson full go Thursday

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 13:20:16 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson looks good to go for Week 3 after leaving early in Week 2. Randall Cobb's status if iffy right now, which make Nelson an even more attractive play. That being said, Nelson faces a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has been stingy against the pass so far in 2017. You don't want to sit Nelson, just lower expectations somewhat.

Packers | Jordy Nelson expects to play Sunday

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 20:56:17 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (quad) said his "expectations are to play" in the team's Week 3 game Sunday, Sept. 24, against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: As long as he is able to suit up, Nelson should have a delicious matchup on tap and be able to deliver his usual WR1 value opposite the reeling 0-2 Bengals. While Cincinnati has only yielded a combined 33 points in their first two games, Aaron Rodgers is typically at his best at Lambeau Field, and Nelson figures to be one of the usual beneficiaries of that performance.

Packers | Jordy Nelson practices in full

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 15:58:06 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson appears to be on track to play in Week 3 as long as he does not suffer a setback over the next few days. He is one of the better receivers in the NFL when he is healthy and can be a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver in all leagues.

Packers | Jordy Nelson 50-50 for Week 3

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 05:16:04 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) is "50-50" to play in Week 3, according to a source, but his quadriceps strain isn't considered serious.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers face the 0-2 Cincinnati Bengals this week, and if Nelson goes, he could be on a snap count. Randall Cobb (shoulder), who was also nicked up, is day to day. Nelson would be a WR2 candidate if he suits up. Cobb could graduate to WR2 status if he were to play and Nelson didn't.

Packers | Jordy Nelson questionable to return

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) left the Week 2 game at Atlanta in the first quarter due to a quadriceps injury and he is questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: If Nelson is unable to return it would be Davante Adams ascending to the No. 1 receiver job.

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson caught seven passes on eight targets for 79 yards and a touchdown in a 17-9 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1.

Packers | Jordy Nelson wants to play a few more years

Sat, 26 Aug 2017 12:16:19 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson said he is looking to play two to four more years before he decides to retire. Nelson has two years left on his current contract and said he would see how he feels at the end of that contact.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson has dealt with injuries during his career but is ready to be the No. 1 receiver for the Packers this season. He has recorded at least 1,250 yards in each of his last three seasons and has 27 touchdowns over his last two seasons. He should be considered a No. 1 receiver in all leagues.

Packers | Jordy Nelson evolved into slot receiver

Wed, 19 Jul 2017 07:33:42 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson ran nearly half of his routes from the slot and the perimeter in the final 10 games last season. In 181 routes run from the slot, according to Pro Football Focus, Nelson led the NFL with 2.75 yards per route.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson dipped to 13.0 yards per reception last season, but he still produced a 97-1,257-14 year. He's 32 now, and this role in the slot could be his norm. It might be tough for him to return to the 1,500-yard plateau, but with good health, he could eclipse the 100-catch mark for the first time in his career. He doesn't have much upside at this stage, but he's still a low-end WR1 candidate.

Packers | Jordy Nelson busy inside red zone

Tue, 11 Jul 2017 17:10:08 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson recorded a league-high 29 targets inside the red zone last year, including an NFL-best 15 inside the 10.

Fantasy Tip: In each of his last three healthy seasons (2013, 2014 and 2016), Nelson has seen at least 22 targets inside the red zone and 11 inside the 10. Last year, his 11 touchdowns inside the 20 and nine scores inside the 10 were each the best marks in the league by three. The arrival of Martellus Bennett is probably going to bring those totals down a bit, but there's no question the 32-year-old will remain Aaron Rodgers' go-to guy. Nelson remains a solid WR1 in all leagues.

Packers | Jordy Nelson the most effective WR?

Sun, 04 Jun 2017 20:49:33 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers had a 117.7 passer rating when targeting WR Jordy Nelson last year, the highest mark for any receiver in the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson also led the league in touchdowns last year, and he should be a dependable WR1 again this season as the go-to target for one of the NFL's best quarterbacks.
